THE GOD EATER - Chapter 584: Linking Shield Breakers.

In order to facilitate the linking of the shield breakers, Nether Flame and Money Body stayed behind to guard the island while Loki and Ant Hill rose into the air to set up the other end of the shield breaker.

Loki and Ant Hill reached the sky and went beyond it to reach the crystal wall. Then they began digging their way out of it.

They spent over one hour breaking through the wall. This cost both of them more than a thousand years of their lifespan each.

The loss of lifespan only stung Loki a little bit because there were investments he could use the lifespan for. But the loss of a thousand years of lifespan caused heartfelt pain to Ant Hill. After all, her total lifespan was only a little above 2,000.

She had also spent over a thousand years of her lifespan when entering the world the first time around. So she only had 93 years of lifespan left now.

If she had a way out, she wouldn’t have opted to do this. Unfortunately for her, she had to spend her lifespan doing this because the alternative was bound to be more expensive.

The alternative was to stay behind to guard the planted shield breaker. If an attack were to ensue, not only would she have to spend a lot of her lifespan fighting for her life, but there was also the possibility of her dying in the attack.

So it was better to spend this much lifespan to avoid danger. But this didn’t mean that she had to feel good about it.

She decided to be bitter about it, and she also decided to take out some of her bitterness on Loki. So after they left the crystal shield, she snickered and said, “I’m surprised that you possess enough lifespan to survive that. I thought for sure that you were going to keel over before we got out. It seems you’re not as weak as you look.”

Loki retorted by saying, “I wish I could say the same about you. I mean, we wouldn’t need to do all of these if your ant had done what it was supposed to do. So even though you look capable, you behave like you’re incompetent.”

She snorted and said, “It seems you have a big mouth. You’re lucky that we are on a mission, or I would teach you a good lesson about how to respect your superiors.”

After she said this, she didn’t wait for him. She immediately shot into space in the direction of the void ship.

Loki watched her go with a sinister gleam in his eyes. In his vision, he saw that she only had 93 years of lifespan left. This poor state of hers was tempting him to make a move on her.

By making a move, he would attack and kill her. If he is able to kill her before she commits suicide, he will be able to get a Cave Heaven that is 123 million square kilometers and two Divine Metacs.

But as tempting as this was, he didn’t make a move to attack her. Instead, he shook his head and thought to himself, ’You are the lucky one here. If not for the fact that we’re on a sect mission together, you would be dead or dying by now.’

Then he took off after her.

As they approached the void ship, he continued to keep his eyes on her. He was watching her to see what she planned to do about her dwindling lifespan.

He wanted to see if she would continue the mission with such a low amount of lifespan or give up on the mission. So he had the Power Identification Ability activated with his gaze focused on her.

This allowed him to see her lifespan increase steadily. He saw the amount of lifespan she had increase from 93 to 1485.

She didn’t do anything outwardly to increase her lifespan, but he knew that a lot could be happening within her Cave Heaven. So he suspected that she had just sacrificed a lot of world essence or spirit stones to increase her lifespan.

This effectively killed the temptation that was pushing him to attack and kill her. He was still interested in killing her because there was plenty to gain from doing so. But now that it would be more difficult to kill her, he stopped thinking that it would be a waste not to kill a perfectly weakened divine being.

The two of them reached the void ship and handed another copy of the shield breaker to the divine being in the void ship. This rank 6 forger took the shield breaker and activated it. She used the full power of her Cave Heaven to activate the shield breaker, so the power output was very high.

When the shield breaker was activated, a white beam of light was projected from the void ship in the direction of the other shield breaker. The other activated shield breaker was on an island within Oceania, so the white beam of light went towards Oceania.

The beam of light was blocked by the crystal shield when it reached Oceania. But this was only temporary. The beam slowly saturated the wall and penetrated it like water sinking to the bottom. This bleached the color of the part of the crystal shield from blue to white.

After four minutes, the beam of light successfully passed through the crystal wall. By this time, the white part had extended from the surface of the crystal shield to the bottom.

However, nothing happened after that. The whiter beam didn’t come out from the other side, and the white patch stopped spreading. It seemed that the white bean had been blocked by something invisible, but the four of them sighed in relief that their escape route had been secured.

Loki and Ant Hill left the void ship again. Just like last time, they left with some capsules containing homunculi. And even more capsules were being sent along the white beam towards Oceania.
