THE GOD EATER - Chapter 585: Display Of Power.

The two of them went along the white beam on their way back to Oceania. When they reached the crystal wall, they found that it had become soft and gentle.

The crystal wall was no longer vibrating. The nets that made it up had also become docile. They didn’t appear to block their way anymore. So the two of them were able to pass through the crystal shield without struggling.

This would be the third time that they would have to pass through the crystal shield. But unlike the first two times, they were not afraid of the crystal shield anymore.

And things were just as they expected. By passing through the white patch on the crystal shield, they didn’t spend any of their lifespan.

This made Loki say to Ant Hill, “Our entry and exit have now become as easy as passing through our backyard. This is impressive. Who made this shield breaker anyway?”

But Ant Hill ignored him and refused to answer his question. Her behavior made him chuckle.

Since she wasn’t going to answer his question, he asked Nether Flame the same question. Unlike her, Nether Flame was willing to educate the newbie. If only for the fact that having an ignorant partner would drag him down and increase his chances of dying.

Nether Flame said, “I don’t know who made the shield breaker. But that doesn’t matter right now. We have work to do setting up the outpost, so get back here quickly.”

“Also, watch out for the retaliation of the world. I bet the will of Oceania won’t like what we did, so it might retaliate anytime soon.”

Just as he said this, a roar came from somewhere deep in the ocean. The thing that roared was unseen, but the effect of the roar was clear to see.

The roar agitated the ocean and caused large waves to form on its surface. The large waves rose high into the air and combined into one large, colossal wall of water. This wall of water came rushing towards the island on which the shield breaker was planted.

After seeing this, Loki sent a message to Nether Flame saying, “It seems you were right.”

Nether Flame wasn’t happy that he was right to expect an attack. He even cursed and said, “It is all because of that stupid bug. If it had done what it was sent to do, none of these would be happening now.”

“We would have been able to enter the world and catch it off guard. Then we would have begun to set up the outpost before it could mount an effective defense.”

“By failing its mission, that bug has set us back one step. And this is just the start. I’m sure that things will get worse soon.”

Even before he finished speaking, the world had begun to make other moves. A storm had formed in the sky, and water came pouring down from the sky.

Down below, the giant tsunami had attacked the island. Money Body had neutralized it by shining a beam of golden light on the tsunami. So the giant tsunami slowly turned into a wall of gold as it approached the island.

When this didn’t work, more roars went off in the depths of the world. This caused more giant tsunamis to form.

Money Body was still able to defeat the giant tsunamis, though. So, for now, their island was safe.

But as more rain fell, the water level rose higher and higher. By their estimate, after an hour of continuous rainfall, the island would be submerged. This will surely open them to attacks from the creatures of the world.

Things hadn’t reached that point yet, but already large serpentine figures with golden crowns could be seen swimming around the area.

From his position high in the sky, Loki was able to see two of them. What he saw were serpents that were long enough to coil around a continent. His eyes widened when he saw them.

The giant serpents didn’t attack outright. They only swam around, so it looked like they were waiting for an opportunity to strike.

The two of them in the sky flew down quickly to meet up with Money Body. He was their strongest fighter, so it didn’t seem wise to stay away from him for too long.

After they met up, Money Body began briefing them. He started by saying, “I have gained more information from the recent display of power. Based on what I saw, I have good news and bad news for you.”

Without asking which they wanted to hear first, he said, “The bad news is that this world has at least 6 world kings. I saw three more world kings than the three I saw the first time. There might be more world kings out there, but this is what I can confirm now.”

“Another thing I can confirm is that all six of the world kings are dragons. They are water dragons. This means that the world king will also be a water dragon and have the combined power of 6 Divine Metacs or more.”

The faces of everyone listening became grim when they heard the bad news. Fortunately for them, that was the end of the bad news that Money Body had to say. What he said next uplifted their spirit somewhat.

He said, “The good news is that not all of our enemies are all rank 8. There is only one rank 8 dragon king. There are two rank 7, and the other three are rank 6.”

After saying this, he asked them, saying, “Did the dragon king or any dragon speak with any of you?”

The three of them were briefly taken aback by the question. Then they shook their heads in denial.

But their answers didn’t satisfy Money Body. He looked at Loki specifically as he said, “Just so you know, we are on a sect mission, so you can’t betray the interests of the sect for your personal benefit. If you are caught betraying the sect, your Divine Position will be removed, and your soul will be enslaved.”
