The Innkeeper - Chapter 2184 Common sense is not needed here

Chapter 2184 Common sense is not needed here
Zen opened the door and looked at the files in the assistant hands. Although he had not read them yet, he could identify Hera’s unique mark on the file, labeling it to be extremely important.
The humanoid patch of grass held out its hands on both sides and looked up into the sky. A moment later, a deep blue, striped suit appeared around his body. One piece at a time, the suit was put onto Zen, as if invisible hands were helping him wear it.
When the coat was finally put on, Zen tightened his tie and closed his buttons himself, before glancing in the mirror. Oh right, he forgot the most crucial part of his attire: the sunglasses! He put on a pair of black, wayfarer glasses and checked his appearance once more. Yes, now he looked dashing. The best part was that he didn’t even need cologne – he always naturally smelled like wild grass after a light rain.
Without speaking, Zen held out his hand and received the file from the
assistant, quickly going over it. Zen nodded a few times, and then began to give out instructions rapidly. He was not a fan of speaking, so all his instructions were sent via spirit sense.
The massive terracotta pot underneath him began to float as he gave out orders, and as soon as he was done, it disappeared.
Immortal Bastion was a name of a very old city in Midnight Inn. Back when countless Minor realms were fused into the Midnight Inn, Lex spread them out across the Inn. However, he moved the entrances of all discovered Minor realms to Bastion.
Even now, less than 30% of all the Minor realms inside the Midnight Inn had been detected. This was also because the Midnight Realm was a developing realm, which caused countless Minor realms to be formed continuously, but still. Well, what Zen needed to do was locate the perfect Minor realm for his immediate task.
From underneath the ground, the Delinquent Viper Vine grew out a shoot and rose it up in the air until it was beside Zen. The vine was a temporary protective measure inside the Midnight Inn that Lex had once used, back when the Inn was much smaller.
The vine could be controlled by him, and since it spread out across the Inn, it could be used to defend or attack any area. In recent years, the vine had joined the Midnight Inn Security team, working as a valued member. Although its strength was now limited, it could offer total protection of any area that it covered within its cultivation range.
The vine had grown and evolved a lot since its first days, gaining a limited level of sentience and self judgment, although it could not be compared to someone like Zen. The vine still mainly relied on taking orders.
Alongside the vine, a number of other plants started to appear, as well as one very fat mushroom called Mushu. Zen had not set out to create a team of sentient plants, but just kind of naturally happened. While this was not even close to all the sentient plant workers inside the Inn, his group did contain a lot of them.
Their job would not be to explore the realm – the human workers were better suited for that. No, they would handle the process by which they would tear the laws of space holding the Minor realm in place, but keep it stable so that the Starcloak family could do their job.
The plants went to a clearing nearby and began to start working on the formation. Contrary to popular belief, plants were actually much better at formations than animals. For various reasons, they were much more in tune with nature, and were naturally better at things like this.
“Zen, I heard you need me,” said Z as he walked up to the terracotta pot. Unlike Zen, Z was dressed up much more casually, wearing an orange hoodie and some jeans. Behind him were about 200 workers, all of whom had the strongest Space affinity or understood Space laws.
As it happened, most of them were the ones who were teleported to the Inn back by Lex when he brought them back himself.
Zen nodded, and pointed towards the Minor realms, and communicated through its spirit sense.
“Alright, got it,” said Z as he nodded.
He and the others began surrounding the pillar which contained the entrances to all the realms, and began using their own senses to search all the realms. The actual interior of the realm didn’t matter as much as finding a suitable realm with stable enough space laws so that they could be used.
—
The process was far from simple, so it required the utmost focus and consideration. Around them, guests who were stopped from approaching the realms watched in silent awe at the workers’ work. They had no idea what was happening, but as they felt hundreds of workers operating under the instruction of the mighty grass figure, they felt that it was something important.
Z was especially noticeable since he was somewhat of a celebrity inside the Inn. To see him working under the supervision of the well dressed grass figure, many began to wonder who he was.
Those lush green blades, that fresh style, that silent yet brooding expression… A new fan following was beginning to form right then and there, unbeknownst
to them all.
Zen waved his hands, commanding the new plants that were showing up with resources. It seemed like Zen was a conductor, orchestrating the very operations of the Inn from his terracotta pot.
The clearing that the plants were working in was normally used as a sports ground within Immortal Bastion, so it too was in a very public spot. Since the Innkeeper hadn’t necessitated secrecy, they just all worked in the open.
For most, this was the first time they saw a bunch of different plants working together. Mushu, who was hopping from place to place making sure the structure of the formation was secure, drew the most attention.
For a short time, the scene was cute, and adorable. Then… Z found a suitable realm, and things took a drastic turn.
“I found a realm, but it’s about 650 square miles (1683 square kilometers),” said
Z as he looked towards Zen. “Should I look for a smaller one?”
Zen shook his head. The realm was big, sure, but so what? They’d compress it down from roughly about 100,000 walmarts into 1 football field. Seeing that Zen was confident, Z and the others got to work. They first evacuated the realm of all guests, and then focused on the boundary wall of the realm. Creating and destroying a Minor realm was no problem at all for an Earth Immortal. However, detaching the Minor realm from its location without destroying it was not so easy.
The observing guests stood in stunned silence as, above the city, a massive landmass suddenly appeared, giving off an aura of sheer chaos. If that thing fell on the city… no, if they even lost control of it for even a fraction of a second, the resulting explosion would destroy everything around it. Suddenly, the cute and adorable situation was not so cute anymore, no matter how the tiny grass-man waved his hands. The more experienced guests, however, did not feel frightened. Instead, they simply observed, trying to understand what the Inn was doing now.
Whenever they did something, it always led to a good time.
The formation in the ground was activated, and countless thin, woody roots
shot up into the sky around the boundary of the landmass up above, slowly beginning to pull it down as it absorbed the energy from the landmass, using that very energy to fuel laws that would shrink the space.
This was not a process that would be completed overnight, and it required the consistent coordination between Z, his family members and the plants controlling the formation. The burden was not small, but Z did not shy away
from it.
At the same time, countless security members started to converge around this area to make sure there were no mistakes or accidents. After all, the slightest hiccup could cause catastrophe.
This was one of the few times a major Inn project had been handed over to
them instead of directly being done by the Innkeeper, or being assigned to Lex. As such, they really wanted to live up to it. After all, the Security team was already detecting an uptick in the malicious intent that was being targeted towards the giant landmass.
Lex, who was sitting in his office, working on other things got the system notification he was waiting for. He quickly glanced towards Zen to make sure the situation was under control, before diverting his attention towards the
notification.
New Quest: The Midnight Inn is more than just an Inn – it is a concept that transcends the boundary of common sense, and so it does not need to adhere to common sense. Create a space for the Inn that can merge with other
realms.
