The Invincible Full-Moon System - Chapter 1871: Dream Realm

Chapter 1871: Dream Realm
Adhara was left alone to fend against the Lunirich Gods.
Accepting that was hard for Evelyn and Gistella, but the two realized that this must have been harder for Rex, and yet he didn’t even let out a word of complaint. That made them bite down on their tongues and restrain themselves from saying more.
Besides, as Rex said, it was already done.
No use arguing about it.
Moreover, deep down, the two of them also knew that this was the role of the Female Alpha.
Protecting the pack while the Alpha was away is the role of the Female Alpha, not them.
Adhara was fulfilling her role, and now, it’s time to fulfill theirs.
“What do you need us to do?” Evelyn asked with a determined tone. “For Adhara, we’ll do anything.”
“Anything,” Gistella added with a nod, also as determined.
Rex nodded and turned around, staring at the empty expanse as far as the eye can see.
Frankly, he wanted to bring Evelyn and Gistella with him into the Primordial Meadow, but he knew that he couldn’t do that. Even he couldn’t guarantee his own safety in that realm, so it’s better for these two to stay in the Silverstar Genesis.
Much safer for them here, and he also needed helping hands in this realm.
“Before I tell you what to do, I forgot to ask,” Rex looked over his shoulder. “Where is Kyran?”
Evelyn parted her lips, about to answer, but he intervened.
“Don’t be vague again. He’s supposed to be with the two of you, helping, but he’s not here. Again.”
“It’s… It’s Naela.”
Knowing how ruthless Rex could be at times, even when it involved those from the pack, Evelyn was trying to protect Kyran by keeping what he was doing a secret. But now that things ended up this way, it’s hard to keep it a secret.
She had to tell the truth.
“Naela…?” Rex turned again; his movements were deliberately slow.
“Please don’t be mad,” Gistella stepped forward and held his hand. “It’s not his fault. Just bad luck.”
“What’s wrong with Naela?” He asked again without heeding Gistella’s words.
“Remember the stranded Angel that somehow got to her?” Evelyn avoided eye contact as she said this. “Somehow, that exact Angel came again and visited Naela while she was resting. Kyran was helping us conquer the Scarlet Banes Kingdom, but retreated when he heard the news.”
“Is that so…?” Rex tilted his head slightly.
Just then, the temperature dropped to a chilling degree, making Evelyn and Gistella swallow harshly.
Even though Kyran had his faults, he was the one who tried to improve the most.
One could see his dedication to becoming the kind of man Rex wanted him to be. Strong. Dependable.
And the two of them don’t want his progress to be overshadowed by this one mistake.
Besides, it’s hard to fight a battle when there are many eyes waiting for the Clarentium Empire to make a mistake. Despite keeping their departure a secret and despite it only being a few days, trouble had already come to visit their home.
“I heard the Angel took a rib out of Naela—so be understanding,” Evelyn added. “I am sure you’d react the same if it were me, Gistella, or Adhara who was targeted. He is only protecting the one he loves, and it’s normal.”
“Hmm,” Rex turned to look at Gistella, caressing her cheek with his big hand. “What about you? Are you angry at Kyran for not being there to help? Do remember that had it not been for me intervening, you’d probably die there.”
“Ah,” Gistella offered a honeyed smile. “It’s okay. I’m not angry at all.”
Rex raised a brow, and she immediately corrected.
“I mean, I can’t say that I’m not angry at all. I’m a bit angry, but I don’t resent him. Besides, realistically speaking, there’s nothing he could do to help us in that moment. even if he were there.”
“Okay, then it’s decided,” Rex turned around again. “Since the two of you seemed to be fine with what he did, I’ll not punish him personally. Kyran did nothing wrong. But I still need you, Evelyn, to bestow him a good punishment.”
“Is it necessary?” Gistella asked in worry.
But Evelyn realized why he was asking her to do this, “It’s because of Naela. Giving him a punishment would be helping him. Naela was betrothed to Kyran to bond the empire with the Dark Elves. If she’s only a bad influence for Kyran, then she would feel that her position and Kyran’s position are shaky.
“She must’ve been really furious by now,” She shook her head.
For the first time, she pitied Kyran for his inexperience with this side of the world.
Regardless of how Kyran reacted, in Naela’s view, he ditched the others who were in a war to do nothing but check on her. Considering that the Angel only took a rib, Naela should be fine, and she would feel responsible if anything were to happen to the others and Kyran wasn’t there.
She knew that Kyran was Rex’s left hand.
And for him to be absent when the pack needed him most, Naela would probably be furious at him.
“Though it’s not a good thing, the Angel’s infiltration made it clear that there’s still a way for those who wish us harm to find their way in.” Rex refocused on the Silverstar Genesis again. “So, even if it takes considerable time, I want to transfer Dargena City into this realm.”
He spread his arms, imagining Dargena City’s core being inside the Silverstar Genesis.
A realm where he has absolute control.
Once that goal was achieved, the list of his enemies would be cut quite considerably.
Only those who are Demigods or stronger would be able to pose a threat to Dargena City then.
“Here…?” Evelyn looked around the vast expanse. “Is that even possible? There’s nothing here. Food. Terrain. Not to mention other people. The only real benefit would be better security. The people would be unhappy and stressed easily.”
“And even if we were going to help, how do we start?” Gistella asked.
Considering how long Rex had spent in the Spirit Realm and what he faced, he might’ve forgotten that they weren’t exactly as strong as those in the Spirit Realm. The talk of a different realm was never brought up in the Mortal Realm.
Its people were consumed by war and the relentless fight to see another day.
Right now, the Mortal Realm was dealing with Order Beasts.
Rex, on the other hand, was already dealing with Demigods and Gods.
Frankly, he was on a different level than they were.
But that’s where she was wrong.
“As I said, it’s going to take a lot of work. But the main thing was, this realm is still new,” Rex gave a nonchalant shrug. He was in possession of this skill for quite some time, but hadn’t given it any of his attention, so it’s still practically blank. “It can be cultivated, and more things would appear. Things that would make transferring Dargena City into this realm plausible.
“Can you feel it?” Rex’s eyes stared at the gaps in the void that only he could see. “Can you see it?”
Evelyn and Gistella exchanged a look.
Initially, the two of them were confused as to what Rex was talking about.
Neither of them could see or feel anything in this realm.
But slowly, as the silence stretched into a minute and their focus sharpened, there was something.
Sparkles in the air. It came from the shallow water, rising up like steam—and then evaporating when it reached about a hundred meters in height. For Evelyn and Gistella, seeing this sparkling thing required them to be focused.
It doesn’t seem to be like that for Rex.
“What you’re feeling and seeing are the minor divine strands this blank realm produces,” Rex reached out, drawing the sparkles into his hand and swirling them into a faint, glowing sphere. “Crude. Unrefined. Useless for me or any entity to draw power from. The realm needs to be more refined than this.
“Only then will these minor strands become true divine strands.” He clenched his fist, shattering the sphere back into its raw form. “And only then will this realm be filled with truly wondrous things that would make it habitable.”
Rex turned to look at them again.
He smiled; the kind of smile that he reserved only for them.
“Only Demigods connected to me can refine this realm naturally,” Rex said finally.
Hearing this, Evelyn and Gistella reclined to understanding.
Like what the two of them learned not too long ago, before the Lunirich Gods tore their world asunder, they were now Demigods. Both of them felt the change and attributed it to Rex’s growth—but the shift didn’t only a pulse from their connection to Rex.
It was their own.
Rex saw their reactions and realized that they must’ve already known that they were Demigods.
But they haven’t truly understood what being a Demigod meant.
And how much higher their potential was.
He decided to give them a peek.
Swoosh—!
Rex summoned all of his energies.
Life energy, voidal energy, curse energy, moonlight energy, kingly energy, arcane mana—everything.
A colorful surge of energy melded seamlessly and shot skyward. It was the culmination of how much power he has right now. And it was also a display to them that this was the kind of power that was now accessible to them.
Mortal bodies wouldn’t be able to endure this much power.
But Demigods can.
As long as they were willing, there was no ceiling that they couldn’t shatter.
It was a simple display.
However, it wasn’t exactly the case from the lens of Evelyn and Gistella.
The moment the colorful energies emerged, their eyes flew wide, and their lungs ceased to function. It was the sort of Supernatural Phenomenon that happened once every thousand years. For miles around, the shallow water churned and swirled, drawn into a massive vortex that spun with Rex at its core.
And the sky flickered as his power could even touch it.
In this moment, their eyes could see the colorful energies, but their minds couldn’t wrap around them.
Had anyone in the Mortal Realm had this kind of power, then the balance of power would shatter.
Even the strongest Order Beasts would find it difficult to fare.
Evelyn blinked her eyes and stared into Rex’s eyes, probing what he was thinking.
“Tell me, Rex… Is it still your desire to create this peaceful world?” She asked. The question was harder to say than she expected. “Does your intention to cultivate this blank realm stem from you wanting to create that world, or does it stem from you wanting to grow stronger?”
A great question.
One that made Rex ponder before answering.
“Your question is flawed, Evelyn. If I had to answer that, then I’d say both,” Rex retracted his aura slowly—and looked down to the palm of his hand. “Every single entity above the mortal planes has or aspires to have a realm of its own. Everyone has someone to protect.
“And to do that, the only way is to become stronger and have my personal realm.” He clenched his hand into a fist and raised his calm and clear gaze. “This realm will be the dream world I am trying to create. And to make it, I need more power.”
Hearing the conviction was still present and strong behind Rex’s voice, Evelyn smiled.
Even after everything he experienced, his conviction was still consistent.
Rex averted his gaze from her smile.
To do that, I need to do really bad… bad things. But you don’t need to know that.
If I don’t, things wouldn’t go our way.
Slowly, he turned to look at the portal in the distance.
His glowing crimson eyes narrowed at something. One that wasn’t there. One that couldn’t be seen or felt. Or at least, something that should be untraceable, but Rex could see it. If I don’t… other dangerous entities would claim us all.
“You’re too greedy, bastard,” Rex pivoted his body to face the portal. “I can see you…”
