Upon hearing the secretary’s report, Luo Ziling paused for a moment, then burst into laughter.

He didn’t offer any explanation, just smiled and looked at the expressionless Yang Yuanshan and the astonished Yang Qingyin.

“What’s going on?” Yang Qingyin couldn’t hold back any longer. She suddenly stood up from her seat and asked the secretary incredulously, “How could there be toxic ingredients in the fruits? Did you make a mistake?”

The secretary appeared a bit embarrassed, but eventually, he steeled himself to explain: “The test results are definitely correct, that batch of fruits indeed tested positive for a toxin, and the concentration was pretty high.”

“What toxin?” Yang Qingyin frowned and asked the secretary, “What is its nature?”

“Botulinum toxin, even an extremely small amount can be lethal.” The secretary glanced at Luo Ziling, then at Yang Yuanshan, and seeing neither of them reacted, he continued, “I think it might be contamination, botulinum toxin is easily produced in foods contaminated by botulinum bacteria.”

“How could this happen?” Yang Yunlin’s words made Chen Qiaoyu’s face change instantly as well, “What on earth is going on?”

Luo Ziling ignored the couple and calmly asked Yang Yuanshan, “Sir Yang, are you going to order my arrest?”

With a “bang”, Yang Yuanshan grabbed the teacup in front of him and smashed it fiercely in front of his secretary, then roared fiercely: “Was it you who did this?”

The secretary was startled and quickly explained, “Chief, it wasn’t me!”

“Someone who doesn’t like me, or someone who was instructed by them to do so.” Luo Ziling chuckled as he said this.

Yang Qingye, being very smart, quickly understood the implication in Luo Ziling’s words, and eventually just sighed, saying nothing more.

She looked at Yang Qingye, then at Luo Ziling, and smiled, “Did this ruin your mood?”

Luo Ziling shook his head: “I expected something to happen, otherwise, I wouldn’t have asked to have the fruits tested.”
