Timeless Assassin - Chapter 1114 The Axis Of Resistance

Chapter 1114 The Axis Of Resistance
(The Eternal Garden, Kaelith’s POV)
A few days after the Cult’s victory on Planet Satoru, a report made its way into Kaelith’s hands, as the Eternal Sovereign read through it with tired eyes, his expression barely shifting as he processed the
contents.
“Eh… the Cult conquered another planet,” he muttered under his breath, his tone carrying mild disinterest rather than concern, as he let the scroll lower slightly between his fingers.
“Well, there’s nothing new about that,” he added casually, his gaze drifting away from the report as though the matter did not deserve prolonged attention, as to him, such movements had always been part of the Cult’s nature.
“They crawl out every few years, make noise, take a world or two, and then get crushed back into whatever hole they came from,” Kaelith continued, his voice calm as he spoke more to himself than anyone else, as his mind quickly categorized the incident as routine.
A faint rustle sounded behind him as one of his attendants shifted slightly, clearly unsure whether the matter had truly been dismissed so easily, as the implications of a Great Clan planet falling were far from insignificant.
“My Lord… this was not just any planet,” the attendant said carefully, choosing their words with caution as they stepped forward slightly. “It was Planet Satoru… a key transit hub under the Yu Clan’s control.”
Kaelith exhaled softly at that, as he waved his hand dismissively without even turning to face the speaker, his posture relaxed despite the added context.
“Then let the Yu Clan deal with it,” he replied without hesitation, his tone carrying a quiet finality that left little room for debate, as his attention began to drift toward more pressing matters.
“If they cannot defend their own trade hubs, then perhaps they should reconsider calling themselves one of the Six Great Clans,” he added, a faint trace of amusement slipping into his voice as he muttered those words.
“This is not a problem for the universal government to interfere in. Yu Kiro is a wise ass.
Let him deal with his own mess….”
Kaelith concluded, as he dismissed the matter for now.
(Meanwhile on Planet Granada, Mauriss’ POV)
Unlike Kaelith, Mauriss buckled over in laughter when he received the report of the Cult conquering a Yu Clan planet, as unlike Kaelith, he understood exactly what such a development truly signified beneath the surface.
“So, the Cult is finally making its move, eh?” Mauriss muttered, his voice laced with amusement as rain poured endlessly over his figure, soaking him completely while he tilted his head back slightly.
“Then I suppose that Skyshard must have been successful in breaking through to the Demi God stage by now,” he added, as a faint grin spread across his face while he recalled his last encounter with Leo.
“That kid is definitely not an idiot…… infact, he’s as smart as they come….” Mauriss continued, his tone carrying a strange mix of admiration and curiosity as he slowly straightened his posture under the storm.
“If he is bold enough to take on the Great Clans directly, then he must already be confident in his ability to handle whatever consequences follow,” he said, as his eyes narrowed slightly while he considered the implications.
“Haa….”
A soft chuckle escaped his lips as the rain intensified around him, the thunder above echoing faintly as though reacting to the shift in his mood.
“I can already see it unfolding…” Mauriss went on, his voice lowering slightly as his thoughts began to drift toward the larger picture, connecting pieces that others had yet to notice.
“A shift in the balance of power… one that will not stop at a single conquered planet or a lost fleet, but will ripple across the entire universe in ways none of them are prepared for,” he said, as a flicker of excitement passed through his gaze.
“And when that shift comes, I can already imagine where I might stand in that chaos ….” he added, as his lips curled upward into a wider smile.
“Aligned with the Cult… alongside Moltherak and his Dragons… perhaps even pulling in a few more disgruntled factions like the Su Clan amidst our fold, as we create the axis of resistance!
And opposing us shall be the Righteous Faction!
The Great Clans and Kaelith…”
Mauriss muttered, as the image of that potential coalition seemed to
amuse him greatly.
Whether that alignment would truly come to pass or not was something even he had not decided yet, as his loyalty had never been something that could be predicted or relied upon.
“It will depend on how interesting things become,” he said casually, as he rolled his shoulders slightly while the rain continued to fall
without pause.
“But just the thought of it…” he continued, his voice dropping into something almost reverent now, “a full-scale conflict between Gods… factions clashing without restraint… the entire universe being thrown into chaos…”
A low laugh escaped him at that, one that quickly grew louder as the idea took root deeper within his mind.
“What a beautiful time this is shaping up to be,” Mauriss said, as his grin widened further, his eyes gleaming with unrestrained
excitement.
“I knew giving that water to Skyshard was the right decision,” he added, his tone turning thoughtful for a brief moment as he recalled the events that had led to this outcome.
“As per our soul contract, I cannot act against him, his family, or his faction for the next two years….”
“However, once that time passes…” Mauriss said, as his gaze lifted
toward the storm-filled sky, “then I am free to decide whether I stand
with him… or against him… or simply watch everything burn while I
enjoy the show.”
The laughter returned, louder now and completely unrestrained, as it echoed across the storm-covered expanse.
“Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha… ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!”
Mauriss threw his head back as the rain crashed against him, his voice
echoing across the endless ocean of Granada as his amusement
reached its peak.
Slowly, he lowered his head again, his gaze locking onto the sky above
as his expression settled into something sharper.
“Oh, Skyshard…” he muttered softly, his voice almost lost beneath the
storm.
“What kind of upheaval are you planning to unleash upon this
universe now?”
