As soon as 7:00 PM in the clock struck, the portals stabilized exactly like the previous day. One by one, the zombies began stepping out, slow, shambling, and relentless.
“Alright, it’s starting,” Raghav muttered, looking at them.
Pooja stretched her arms and grinned. “Your turn, Vikram. Show us something interesting.”
Imran glanced at him calmly. “Don’t rush. Just handle what you can.”
Neha pushed her glasses up. “Focus. Don’t lose control.”
Vikrant smirked. “Let’s see what you’ve got.”
Kavya stepped closer, still holding his arm lightly. “Go on… show everyone.”
Sana nodded beside her, her voice soft but full of encouragement. “We’re watching.”
Even Deepak and Ayesha looked toward him, silent but supportive.
All eyes were on Vikram.
But he didn’t move. He simply stood there, watching the zombies shuffle forward in slow, unhurried steps at a time.
“…Why isn’t he moving?” Raghav frowned.
“They’re getting closer,” Imran said.
Pooja tilted her head. “Oi, what are you waiting for?”
Vikrant narrowed his eyes. “Are you planning to let them reach the wall?”
Neha added, “At this distance, it’s inefficient.”
Kavya tightened her grip slightly. “Vikram?”
Sana looked at him with slight concern. “Is everything okay?”
Vikram didn’t look at them. His gaze remained locked on the approaching horde.
“…I’ll handle it,” he said calmly. The others exchanged confused glances.
But he still waited. Five minutes passed. Ten minutes. Fifteen minutes.
The zombies kept advancing slowly, covering ground step by step.
Even after nearly thirty minutes, the horde had only walked around six to seven hundred meters. Vikram could have ended them instantly, but he deliberately held back. He wanted to study their movement patterns, their speed, their coordination, everything that would help him prepare for the next nine waves. Yesterday he had only observed; today was his chance to shine.
After all, no matter how much power surrounded him, Vikram had always been careful and kept his true strength hidden in this wasteland world. But he was still a young man. And like every young man, he had also once dreamed of becoming like Shaktiman, Krrish, Superman, Spider-Man, or Green Lantern, and wanted, at least once, to show off.
This ruined world was the perfect stage to show off. Where no one will from the wasteland knows about it. As he thought.
While the others began to grow restless, Vikram remained perfectly calm, his eyes fixed on the zombies.
Raghav shifted his stance. “…This is getting too close.”
Imran reached for his weapon. “We should start.”
Even Neha and Ayesha readied their guns.
But then, Vikram finally spoke, his voice tough, calm, and brimming with confidence. It was not his normal voice, he just wanted to pretend like that, and show off.
“Alright… let’s clean them.”
Everyone hearing it, became paused, and looked towards him, that what he was going to do.
His gaze locked onto the approaching horde. He turned slightly toward his Plant Team and murmured softly,
“Who should I use…”
His eyes settled on the Warrior Druid Sprout. Since it had evolved, he still hadn’t seen its full power. Perfect time to watch it.
“Warrior Druid… finish them.”
The Warrior Druid nodded and stepped forward. Then, to everyone’s shock, it suddenly shouted in a deep, energetic voice:
“Wawawaaa… Wawawaaa…!”
Everyone froze.
“…It can talk?” Imran murmured in shock .
Even Vikram was surprised and muttered, “Since when could you talk?”
Kavya’s eyes lit up instantly. “Vikram! It’s so cute!”
Sana nodded quickly, smiling. “Yeah… it really is.”
The Warrior Druid turned its head slightly toward them, almost as if acknowledging the praise, then looked back at the incoming zombies.
Before anyone could react further, the real shock came.
The Warrior Druid raised its wooden blade. Its vine-like arm pulled back slightly, then whipped forward.
From the top of the wall, its arm stretched, rapidly, like a living whip, shooting straight across the battlefield.
Two hundred meters in an instant.
“Wawawawa! Wawawawa!!”
The blade moved at blinding speed.
SHHHK! SHHHK! SHHHK!!
One after another, zombie heads flew into the air. The blade sliced through necks like they were made of butter, offering zero resistance. Within seconds, the entire first wave collapsed, bodies falling lifelessly to the ground.
The Warrior Druid’s arm snapped back to normal length with a soft ’whoosh’.
Silence. Complete, stunned silence fell over the wall.
No one spoke. No one moved. Every single person stood frozen, eyes wide in disbelief.
Even Isha and Carol’s expressions changed. Their eyes narrowed slightly, genuine surprise flashing across their faces.
“…What…” Raghav whispered.
Vikram himself stared at the Warrior Druid, stunned. Even he had never seen that move before.
For a few seconds, no one spoke. Then the wall exploded with noise.
“What the hell was that?!” Raghav shouted, eyes wide.
“How did it even reach that far?!” Vikrant added, still staring at the battlefield in disbelief.
Neha’s eyes sharpened behind her glasses. “That range… and that precision…”
Ayesha blinked rapidly. “It wiped them out… in seconds…”
Kavya immediately turned to Vikram, excitement clear in her voice. “What kind of ability is that?!”
Sana looked at him with wide, sparkling eyes. “Vikram… this is really your ’simple’ plant warrior?”
Even Deepak couldn’t stay calm. “We’re fast too… but even then, it takes time, bullets, and coordination to clear that many zombies. That thing just erased them.”
James lowered his sniper slightly and clicked his tongue. “Tch… even I have to aim properly before taking a shot. That thing didn’t even slow down.”
The others nodded, still stunned.
Meanwhile, Sana and Kavya looked at the Warrior Druid with completely different expressions now.
Earlier, it was just “cute.”
Now, it was something far more impressive.
They stepped closer and gently touched its horn-like protrusions.
“It’s… kind of adorable,” Kavya said softly.
“…and strong,” Sana added, her eyes shining with admiration.
Feeling their attention, the Warrior Druid straightened its posture proudly.
“Wa wa!” It sounded unmistakably happy.
Almost smug.
“…Why do you look so proud?” Vikram chuckled, reaching out to pat its head.
Then his eyes shifted. One zombie was still standing, a Berserker Zombie.
“…Looks like one escaped,” Vikram said calmly, pointing forward. “Go finish it.”
The Warrior Druid became alert for a second, then tilted its head, “…Wa?”
It looked genuinely confused, as if thinking, ’How did I miss one?’
Its posture quickly changed, becoming more serious.
“Wawawa.” It sounded like it had accepted the mission.
In the next instant, it jumped straight off the wall.
Its vines stretched and pulled it forward, closing the distance in seconds. It landed right in front of the Berserker Zombie.
Then, it started shouting at the much larger zombie.
“WAWAWA! WAWAWA!!”
The tone was angry and annoyed — like it was scolding the zombie, “How are you still alive?! You should have died with the others!”
The Berserker Zombie paused, clearly confused. It looked down at the small creature as if thinking, “What is this thing doing?” It seemed to want to explain that it had gotten stuck in the portal and arrived late, but it never got the chance.
Because suddenly, thick vines shot out from the Warrior Druid, instantly binding the Berserker’s arms, legs, and even its neck.
The Warrior Druid didn’t give it even a second to struggle.
It raised its blade, pulled it back slightly, and struck with full force.
“SHHHHK!!!”
A clean, perfect cut. The head separated instantly from the body.
The Berserker Zombie dropped without any resistance.
The Warrior Druid placed its foot on the fallen head, pointed at it, and made a small disdainful sound. “Wawa.”
As if saying, “Even if you tried to hide… your end is still death by me.”
Then, like nothing had happened, it jumped back onto the wall and stood beside Vikram again, looking up at him expectantly, waiting for praise.
“…You really like showing off, huh?” Vikram said with a small smile, patting its head once more.
He was still a little shocked himself by how much stronger the Warrior Druid had become after its evolution.
The Warrior Druid straightened proudly and nodded slightly. “Wa!”
But around them, no one reacted.
Everyone was still frozen in place, even more shocked than before.
Killing normal zombies was one thing.
But killing an Elite Berserker Zombie so easily, cleanly, and effortlessly?
Even Deepak, Rohit, Ayesha, Sana, and Kavya couldn’t confidently say they could do that with their own abilities and weapons.
After nearly two minutes of stunned silence, people slowly began to come back to their senses.
And once again, all eyes turned toward Vikram… and the Warrior Druid.
This time, it wasn’t just curiosity. It was pure, overwhelming shock.
