Wasteland: I Awakened A Plant System - Chapter 143: Terrifying Temperature 2

Chapter 143: Terrifying Temperature 2
In reality, most survivors in the chat channel reported that the temperature inside their shelters was only around -20 degrees Celsius, and they were barely managing to survive even while wearing cold-weather gear.
However, in Vikram’s territory, the four of them were not worried about the cold at all.
After two days of training under Vikram, Divya and Anjali made noticeable progress in combat.
A day before the temperature dropped further, the Crimson Fragments required to synthesize two Crimson Orbs were finally gathered.
At Vikram’s suggestion, the two of them consumed the orbs.
The result was obvious, their four attributes each increased by five points.
With the addition of Vitality Fruits dropped by the creatures they had killed, their overall physiques improved even further.
Divya’s stats had nearly reached 50, while Anjali’s had approached 30. If they consumed the Primal Evolution Fruit, they could become even stronger.
However, Vikram didn’t want that, for now.
Because if they became stronger than him, controlling them… especially during nighttime “training”… would become difficult. As for Anjali, he knew she was rebellious. If she surpassed him in strength, he couldn’t even imagine what she might do.
Vikram then looked at the Medium Primal Evolution Fruit. Its price alone was 10,000 points, and after clearing a 500 sq. km area around his new territory and continuously building defensive walls, most of his saved and daily points had already been spent.
Even the temperature within the territory was not fully stabilized yet. With the planting of new Warm-Heart Ember Moss, since the old ones had merged into the Treehouse, the area was only partially controlled. While other places were at -50°C, his territory was still around -30°C. (It was his new area
It was still too cold for proper farming.
However, within just two days, using nearly 16,000 Plant Essence, he managed to construct a solid wall and gate around the territory.
Now, in just three more days, he would have enough points to purchase the Medium Primal Evolution Fruit.
During that time, he also asked the two of them if they knew about the Crimson Fruit.
After receiving a negative answer, Vikram fell into thought.
All fruits that increase physical fitness have a limit on how many times they can be consumed, and most survivors are unaware of the Crimson Orb, which can further enhance physical strength.
He was certain that the physical condition of the members in his shelter was generally stronger than that of other survivors.
Back to the present, the four of them sat silently on the sofa, observing the messages from other survivors in the chat channel.
This extreme cold was different from the previous one; this time, survivors had enough time to prepare and try to endure it.
However, when the true extreme cold arrived, most survivors realized they had underestimated it.
Even though the mysterious voice on the survival platform warned everyone whenever the temperature dropped, most people were still helpless.
With food shortages and insufficient winter gear, even going outside had become a serious problem.
The only saving grace was that they didn’t have to worry about water supply for now.
They could collect snow from outside and boil it to drink, as the snow caused by the natural disaster did not carry any pollution.
[Brothers, is it just my imagination? It seems like there are far fewer people talking in the chat channel.]
[Are you really stupid or just pretending? The number of people in the bottom right corner is obvious.]
[Our regional chat channel, which initially had 100,000 members, now has less than 50,000. Why do you think there are fewer people?]
[Hiss~ I really didn’t notice, this time it’s definitely more dangerous than last time.]
[A few weeks ago, it was -20 degrees Celsius and I was happily hiding under the covers without any problems. In the blink of an eye, it dropped to -50 degrees Celsius.]
[Hey guys, I have a question. There’s a campfire right next to me, but I’ve been standing here for ages and I’m still not warm at all.]
[Heh, you think a tin box can protect you from natural disasters? If you want to keep warm, you’ll have to jump into a fire pit.]
[What should I do? I’m too scared to sleep in this temperature. I’m afraid I’ll fall asleep and never wake up again.]
[That’s easy. I’ll give you a suggestion: just build a heated earthen bed in the shelter. It’ll be super warm to sleep on at night.]
[The brother upstairs is right. I have personally tested it. It not only works well, but it also doesn’t cost much in terms of valuable materials.]
In an instant, the chat channel went off-topic, with everyone asking about how to make a traditional earthen bed, and some even started trading it for supplies.
Seeing this, all three of them reluctantly closed the chat.
Before that, Vikram glanced at the number of people in the bottom right corner of the world chat channel. 3.87 billion people…
Compared to last week, the population has plummeted again by more than 1.1 billion.
He rubbed his temples, then numbly looked away; he was already used to this.
“It’s a good thing we’re here, otherwise we’d be shivering in the cold too,” Anjali said as she lay down on the sofa and placed her legs on Vikram’s lap.
“You’re becoming quite bold now,” Vikram said, staring at her with a hint of annoyance.
“You’re my husband, can’t I at least rest my legs on you?” Anjali replied, completely unconcerned.
“You…” Vikram looked at her, then pulled her closer and positioned her on his lap.
And after positioning her on his lap, he started spanking her bumm.
“Ah…” Anjali let out a soft sound but didn’t protest. It seemed she wasn’t resisting at all. She has started enjoying the spanking.
“Vikram, is it really necessary to punish her for every small thing?” Divya said, watching him smack Anjali’s bumm while she didn’t seem to mind it at all.
“Do you think just punishing her is enough? Should I punish you too?” Vikram asked, turning his gaze toward Divya.
“How dare you?” Divya said, but before she completed her words, Vikram had pulled her into his lap, while pushing Anjali aside.
“Vikram, don’t dare to smack— Aaahhh,” Divya was going to warn him, but before her warning, he already started smacking her.
“Vikrammm,” She shouted feeling embarrassed, but Vikram didn’t care about it.
“Hahaha,” Anjali, seeing it, started laughing so hard that she couldn’t describe it. Before only she was getting punished, and her bumm became red like a monkey.
But today, the stinky Divya is also getting punished. From the moment she has arrived here, she already knows that her boss and husband, Vikram, has the final say here.
If she just maintains her image like a little spoiled wife, and Vikram will start spoiling her, then this stinky Divya will not be able to punish her like Vikram.
Meanwhile Sophia, seeing this, also started laughing.
“What are you laughing at?” Vikram asked her.
“Nothing,” Sophia openly denied it.
“It looks you also need punishment,” Vikram said and the next Sophia fell in his lap and started moaning in pain, whenever he smacked her bottom.
But after spanking them, Vikram felt his little brother had started awakening, and then he picked three of them and entered in his bedroom.
Following that the three of them started moaning his name with love, before they fell asleep.

Meanwhile, while Vikram lounged comfortably in the warmth of his own territory, not everyone was enjoying such luxury.
Deep inside Boss Vik’s Shelter, Chandan, Alex, Stephen, Jonathan, Steve, and Sunil huddled together, shivering violently from the biting cold. Their breaths came out in visible white puffs, and their bodies trembled uncontrollably.
“Chandu, please call Vikram Boss,” Steve said through chattering teeth. “Tell him we need something to survive this damn cold.”
Since Alex and Chandan were the closest to Vikram, the others naturally looked to them for help.
“Alex Sir,” Chandan said, turning to him respectfully, “I think they’re right. We should reach out to Boss Vikram.”
Alex remained silent for a moment, his sharp eyes scanning the freezing group. After a brief pause, he turned to Sunil.
“Sunil, go bring all the Crimson Shards.”
Sunil blinked in surprise. “Huh? But aren’t those for you? I thought you were going to combine and eat them.”
Alex’s voice turned cold and commanding. “Did I ask for your opinion? Just go and bring them. Now.”
Sunil clenched his jaw, swallowing his anger as he turned to obey. Ever since Alex had taken charge, Sunil had been reduced to nothing more than a lowly henchman. He couldn’t even complain, not when both Alex and Chandan were armed with guns. As he walked away, bitter memories flooded his mind: the golden days when Alex used to stand behind him like an obedient underling, always trying to please him.
A few minutes later, Sunil returned with the shards. Without hesitation, Alex opened the trading interface and listed them all.

Back in his base, Vikram was caught off guard by the sudden trade request. He immediately called Alex.
“What happened?” Vikram asked.
“Boss,” Alex replied in his usual straightforward manner, “our shelter members are freezing to death here. I don’t know how to handle this cold, and you’re the only one I can turn to.”
Vikram liked that about Alex, no sugarcoating, no unnecessary flattery. Just honesty.
Hearing the desperation in his voice, Vikram quickly understood the situation. He first tried to trade over some Warmheart Ember Moss, but the system wouldn’t allow it. Whether it was a restriction or a limit, the trade option was simply grayed out.
He then went through the miscellaneous items he had recently obtained from lootboxes, both the new ones and those dropped by zombies. Among them, he found something useful.
A small stack of electric blankets.
Without hesitation, Vikram took out three electric blankets and placed them in the trade, while at the same time declining Alex’s offer.

“Take these. And whenever you need help, just ask me. There’s no need to send me supplies,” Vikram said calmly.
Hearing this, Alex was stunned. He hadn’t expected such generosity, especially in the apocalypse.
