Chapter 1377: Hey, This Is A Temple, Remember?
So Ira has a complex about her eyes… And Tsara feels that she is less important than everyone else around her…
That’s interesting to know…
Since they’re my women now, I would like to take care of them as one of my own too.
I’ll have to figure out something I guess…
In the meantime, I managed to convince Ira that I wasn’t being brainwashed by Nilali at least.
Unfortunately, she still doesn’t trust the gods despite my assurances about them. She still believes that I was being tricked by them somehow.
I knew I wasn’t going to be able to convince her of that and the gods don’t really care about her to try and change her mind either so this misunderstanding might not be solved any time soon.
I guess I could insist either party on helping me but… I don’t really want to force them either so unless I don’t have a choice, I’ll just leave it be for now.
For now, I’ll just be happy that Ira was no longer trying to convince me that Nilali was brainwashing me.
I was just about to lead us outside when the door flung open, revealing Sister Ardiolyta standing at the doorway.
“Sister Aster!! I’m here to save you!!”
Eh?
She charged into the temple, barrelling towards Ira and leaping up into the air with her first pulled back.
She was clearly trying to attack Ira so I quickly stepped in front of her, lifting up my arms to cross them in front of me right as Ardiolyta’s fist smashed against me.
I grimaced as I felt the impact rock through my body, sliding back a foot from the impact.
If I hadn’t buffed myself before she hit, I might have been sent flying back instead.
Sister Ardi frowned at me, “Sister Aster? What are you doing?”
I puffed my cheek at her, “Why did you even attack us?”
“Aren’t you being attacked by that crazy woman right now?”
“No? She was just talking to me? What made you think that I was being attacked?”
“There’s a Trasif outside who seemed to be adamant that you were being attacked.”
Why would Tsara actually think that? Did she think that because Ira appeared in front of the goddess, she might force me to bring her to meet the goddess again.
I guess that was why she was so hesitant about leaving me alone with her.
Ira crossed her arms, “Did you really think that I would hurt Aster? I would never do that!”
Ardiolyta turned to me, raising an eyebrow at me.
I shrugged, “Well… I can say that she was definitely not trying to attack me. She just wanted to talk to me.”
Ardiolyta grimaced, “I see… In that case, my bad. It seems like I’ve jumped to conclusions. Are your arms alright, Sister Aster.”
I’ve already healed myself so I nodded, “Don’t worry about it, I’m fine.”
She looked relieved to hear that before frowning at me, “Why is the person outside being so anxious then?”
I turned to make a face at Ira before looking back at Ardiolyta.
“Umm… Let’s just say that… The two of them don’t exactly see eye to eye on certain things…”
Ardiolyta let out a bark of laughter, “Ahahaha! I get it! I understand now! Ahahahaha! So that’s what’s going on here!”
She then gave me a slap on the shoulder before shooting me a grin, “It must be tough for you, Sister Aster! But don’t worry, I have your back!”
Err… I’m not sure what she’s talking about but… I guess that’s good to hear?
Sister Ardi then wrapped her arm around my shoulders before pulling me close to her to nod at Ira, “Listen. Sister Aster doesn’t belong to anyone, ok? It should be the other way around! If you want her, you have to remember that you are part of her harem and not that she’s part of yours! You can’t be too greedy, understand?”
I have no idea what even made her say that but I guess it’s better than her thinking that Ira was trying to attack me I guess?
Unfortunately, Ira did not seem to feel the same way as she crossed her arms in front of her and glared at Sister Ardi.
“Who do you think you are? Do you think that just because you managed to sleep with Aster first, you are able to boss me around? Do you want a fight?”
Oh come on, Ira… You should have just nodded and ignored it…
Then again, I should have known by now that she’s not the kind of person who would let that slide…
Sister Ardi furrowed her brows, “Hey! I’m actually doing you a favour here, ok? I may just be one of Sister Aster’s lovers but I understand her better than you do!”
Ira jabbed a finger at her, “I have literally never seen you before this ever in my life. And now you think you can just come here and boss me around? You don’t even have the strength to do that.”
Sister Ardi puffed up her chest, “Oh really? Do you really think so? That you’re stronger than I am? I’m not going to take that claim sitting down, you know?”
I could almost see the sparks in between the two of them…
Seriously girls… As if Ira butting heads with Tsara wasn’t bad enough… I don’t need another person that Ira doesn’t get along with… Though I suppose Tsara and Ira have come to somewhat accept each other after I slept with both of them…
Just as I was wondering whether to stop them, the door was once again slammed open and I turned to see Tsara barging into the temple.
Hey… You know… This is still a temple so… Is it really alright for both you and Sister Ardi to be so rowdy in here?
Also… For some reason, my girls and Mother remained outside and they even helped her close the door after Tsara barged in…
Were they already expecting something like this to happen?
“Lady Aster!! Are you ok?!” Tsara cried out, quite literally flying over towards me.
I turned to her, “I’m alright… Why would you even think that I won’t be alright, actually?”
She paused, looking like I had just caught her doing something wrong.
She hesitated for a moment before poking her fingers together, “Well… I… Umm… You might not believe me… But as a priestess for Goddess Srii… I could somewhat feel things that are connected to her and… When you were meeting with… Umm… That Goddess… I could feel Goddess Srii getting more and more irritated… And now that this bitch knows about the Goddesses… She might be trying to get you to help her achieve her goals again… And I could feel Goddess Srii getting irritated again…”
“Eh? You can sense that? Since when could you sense Srii getting irrita–”
Sister Ardi clamped her hand over my mouth, her face completely ashen and also panicking.
“Goddess Srii!! Goddess Srii!! Goddess Srii!!” She cried out into the air before turning back to me. “Sister Aster!! You can’t!! That’s the one goddess you cannot piss off!! Do you know who that is?”
Oh right… I guess Sister Ardi doesn’t know yet…
Thankfully, I had Tsara to help me explain as she gestured at me, “It’s alright, Miss Ardiolyta. Lady Aster is an apostle of the Gods. Goddess Srii has given her expressed permission to refer to her just by her name.”
Ardiolyta blinked at her before turning to me, “Is that true, Sister Aster?”
I nodded my head, still not being able to speak considering her hand was still clamped over my mouth.
She slowly let go and I let out a breath before smiling at her, “You don’t need to worry, Sister Ardi. Srii and I are on pretty good terms.”
Sister Ardi still flinched from hearing me address Srii so casually but seeing that nothing had happened to me, she had no choice but to believe my words.
“You’re really amazing, Sister Aster…”
I don’t have anything to say to that unfortunately…
I cleared my throat to hide my embarrassment, “Ahem… So… You were saying something about being able to sense Srii getting irritated? Since when could you do that?”
“I couldn’t, Lady Aster. But I believe it’s because I am near a temple and you that my connection with Goddess Srii has amplified to the point that I am somewhat able to sense it. Maybe if–”
She suddenly stopped talking and looked straight ahead, her gaze unfocusing for a moment before she blinked and her eyes came back into focus again.
She looked around her for a moment before her gaze settled on me again, “Ah… Lady Aster?”
I frowned, “What happened there? You suddenly stopped talking.”
Unexpectedly, she clammed up, “It’s… It’s nothing! Please forgive me Lady Aster!”
She suddenly turned and ran off, bursting out of the temple while hiding her face in her hands.
…
What the heck just happened?
