We were once again on the road once more, this time heading towards Nomed Metropolis in the Arwan Territory.

We would be using a Waystone to teleport ourselves nearer to the city since I didn’t think giving them time to prepare another plan for their demon lord plan was wise.

According to what Katsuki told me last night, this group seems to have been operating primarily within Nomed Metropolis. They do have smaller cells operating outside but the main base of operations seems to be centered around that area.

The members appear to be a mix of Off-Worlders and locals but from what she was able to gather, this group existed long before Off-Worlders came to this World so it wasn’t set up due to us.

However, the Off-Worlders were definitely a catalyst for their activities increasing thanks to some of them possessing skills that allowed them to push forward some of their plans.

Unfortunately, we weren’t really taking this group that seriously because up until recently, they have not really managed to do anything aside from just having infrequent meetups where they talk and plan the Demon Lord summoning.

Those other instances where demons managed to cross over and wreck havoc have been determined to be unrelated to them.

Katsuki mentioned that she will dig deeper into these events to see if there really was no connection to those supposedly unrelated events. Because she has a suspicion that these supposedly unrelated events might now be related because the people involved in them might have been independent at the start but have joined up with this organisation in question.

Honestly, I would have been fine with just waiting and hiring a Grey Walker to help us since I felt a little bad that I was basically depriving them of potential business but since there were so many people here, I thought losing mine was not a big deal.

Thus… I thought it was worth a shot and so my group went straight for the Waystone without engaging with a Grey Walker.

I clasped my hands together, trying to reach out to Immana to request for her to let us use her In-Between Planes for travelling to another Waystone closer to Nomed Metropolis.

No sooner had I thought that, a portal opened up in front of me without much effort.

Well… That was easy.

I turned to my girls to make sure they were ready before I stepped through the portal, appearing in… What the heck is this place?

The place we appeared looked like something that you might see in those weird paintings where it showed multiple staircases going in different directions within a room.

To my left, there was a staircase that was going upwards into a hidden corridor, but right beside it there was another staircase that was going sideways and ’down’ into a hole that was located sideways on the wall itself.

My girls joined me and they also looked around in wonder, probably also seeing this for the first time.

Minnera immediately brought out her sketchbook to start sketching in it, “Hmmm~ I never knew that you could see something like that here… Could the Goddess also be a fan of surrealism? Not really my type of thing but I can at least admire it.”

As soon as I thought about that, light gathered in front of me to form into a figure of a person.

The figure then pointed towards a set of stairs that was going down into the ground.

The others also agreed and started to move towards the stairs.

But instead of listening to it, I narrowed my eyes at the figure, “Who the heck are you?”

Everyone else paused and turned back to see me glaring at the figure.

I wasn’t sure why but this figure did not feel like it had any connection to Immana.

As though offended by my question, the figure jerked its hand at the stairs, trying to insist that I go there.

I continued staring at the figure, “I ask again, who the heck are you?”

The figure became even more agitated and this time, it lunged towards me.

I was already expecting it to attack so I was ready to counter it, only for it to suddenly freeze in midair .

“Ara, ara? Some little thing that doesn’t know its place? Ufufufu~ Have I not properly warned you all that she is under my protection? That won’t do…”

The figure in front of me suddenly started spazzing out like I was looking at a broken television screen.

I somehow could tell that the figure in front of me was screaming despite there being no sound before its entire body got stretched out and it exploded into fragments of light.

There was a short pause as the light fragments slowly disappeared and another batch of light fragments appeared to reform in front of me, this time taking the shape of Immana.

The fox goddess materialised and she even did a spin in the air before landing on her feet, or at least it looked like she landed but I noticed that her feet did not actually touch the ground and was floating just an inch above the ground.
