Chapter 346: A Little Distraction

"Yohan, can I talk to you for a minute?" Cassie finally found an opportunity to pull him outside.

"What are you doing? Are you trying to expose us?" she asked, almost on the verge of panicking.

"No need to worry. As long as you don’t slip up, I won’t do anything to give us away."

She stared at him, her eyes filled with doubt and worry. "Why would you even invite them over to our house in the first place?"

"I thought you needed something like this... Actually, I’m the one who needed it. I was just looking for a distraction."

He was being honest. The situation with Hatoru’s ledger and the massage therapy license had been weighing on his mind, leaving him worried almost every second.

"Are you okay?" Cassie could tell from the look on his face that something was troubling him.

He let out a deep sigh before forcing a little excitement onto his face.

"I will be, after we finish that entire bottle." He grabbed her and led her back inside.

By now, the other girls had settled in and grown more comfortable.

"Cassie, I never knew your family had such a nice place." Kayla looked around. "I can’t believe I’ve never actually been here before."

Cassie let out a small, guilty chuckle. "That’s because my dad didn’t like it when I brought people over..."

"Maybe then it’s kind of a good thing he’s gone," Yohan said with a smirk, ready to burst out laughing.

However, the girls didn’t appreciate his humor.

Especially Cassie.

At the same time, though, she couldn’t bring herself to be angry. She knew what her father had done to get himself arrested, and even now, the only reason they still had a roof over their heads was because Yohan had shown them mercy.

"Is there any information about his case?" Kayla turned to Cassie.

She shook her head gently. "We can’t afford the bail, let alone a good lawyer..."

"Why don’t you ask Yohan for help? He’s loaded." Kayla pointed at him with a grin.

Yohan and Cassie exchanged a brief glance.

"I couldn’t possibly do that..."

"I might actually consider it if it’s you," Yohan said, falling back on the couch.

"A-Are you serious?" she stammered.

"Maybe." He maintained a calm grin.

To the other two girls, he was simply showing off his wealth. But to Cassie, his words carried a deeper meaning.

She knew the full story. Her father had attempted to burn down the shop with Yohan inside, yet here he was, offering to help her.

"How much is the bail, anyway?" Yohan asked.

"Five hundred thousand," she replied, a flicker of hope appearing in her eyes.

Yohan nearly choked on his spot when he heard that amount.

’I figured it would be around twenty thousand, maybe fifty at most... But I guess it makes sense, considering he’s facing attempted murder charges alongside fraud’

He forced a smile.

"On second thought, why don’t we just send our prayers? Prison isn’t really as bad as they make it look. I’m sure your father can handle it. Why else would his bail be that high?"

Bella and Kayla both chuckled at his response. It was dark humor, but they couldn’t help themselves.

"Yohan, you shouldn’t make jokes like that..." Bella said, doing her best to control her laughter.

"It’s fine." Cassie sighed, a peaceful expression settling over her face. "A part of me thinks this is what he deserves. You shouldn’t betray your family for anything..."

"But seriously, how come his bail is set so high?" Kayla asked, genuinely curious. "It’s not like he tried to kill someone. You said it was some kind of insurance scam, right?"

’Wow, so innocent Cassie actually knows how to lie...’

Yohan turned to look at her, and she immediately lowered her gaze.

"Y-Yes, but they say it’s a complicated case..."

"How complicated could it be?"

"Kayla, we shouldn’t force her to talk about it if she doesn’t want to," Yohan interrupted. "It’s not like you’re going to give her any money..."

A few seconds of complete silence followed.

"You don’t know that..."

"It’s true," Bella chimed in.

"I think I can help out with a couple of thousand," Kayla offered.

"That’s like dropping a few drops of water into the ocean." Yohan shook his head with a disappointed sigh.

His response made Bella laugh even harder.

Yohan couldn’t help wondering whether he was really that funny or if she’d simply reached the point where everything that came out of his mouth seemed like perfect comedy.

She didn’t even notice Kayla glaring daggers at her.

"Why don’t we talk about something else?" Kayla raised her voice to drown out Bella’s laughter.

"What were you two doing together before we arrived?" She shifted her gaze between Yohan and Cassie.

"Have you officially started dating?"

"N-No! I can’t date him..." Cassie blurted out, making it sound as though she’d been accused of something terrible.

"Ouch." Yohan dramatically clutched his chest.

"I mean, you’re supposed to understand..." she said defensively.

"In that case, can I have him?" Bella asked, shifting closer and grabbing his arm.

"Have him?" Cassie blushed before muttering, "Why are you asking me?"

"So you won’t get offended if he falls for me?" Bella asked, gazing at Yohan with dreamy eyes and a cute smile.

Her chubby face gave her an innocent, endearing appearance, but she was surprisingly bold. She pressed herself against him without the slightest hesitation.

’She’s so soft...’

And it wasn’t just her breasts. Her entire body was soft.

"Why do you get to have him?" Kayla rose from her seat and moved to his other side.

’I wanted to play it cool, but I don’t want to lose to Bella by accident’

She wasn’t intimidated. At least, that was what she told herself. She was simply being cautious because Bella was such a simp for handsome guys, and somehow, her nurturing nature always seemed to win them over.

That was her excuse, anyway.

She grabbed Yohan’s other arm and leaned against him, allowing him a clear view down the neckline of her shirt. She wasn’t wearing a bra, and there was nothing holding her breasts back.

"What are you two doing?" Cassie nearly screamed, her face turning completely red just from watching them.

"Yohan might get offended..."

"I actually don’t mind at all," Yohan replied with a chuckle. "Why don’t we play a drinking game to settle this?"
