Sienna’s eyes remained fixed on the screen for a full second after the words registered.

L×L Boxers...

That wasn’t a random gossip page. It wasn’t an anonymous account fishing for attention. L×L Boxers was one of the biggest men’s underwear brands in the country, and they had posted publicly that they were looking to sign Tom Harlow as one of their models. The same pictures that had been circulating as mockery were now being framed as discovery material. The contrast was so sharp it almost felt unreal.

"Tom," she said, turning the phone toward him. "Look at this."

He took the phone, and whatever comment he had been about to make died on his tongue. His mouth opened slightly as he read the post twice. L×L Boxers writing his full name on their social media platform that they would sign him as their model if he was interested in working with them. The roadside images attached underneath like proof of concept instead of scandal.

For a moment he only stared.

Sienna watched his face carefully. She expected the answer to come quickly. Acceptance. Relief. Maybe even eagerness. After the humiliation of those pictures, most men would have grabbed the first polished interpretation of the mess and held on with both hands.

Most especially for the kind of company that was ready to employ him: it was a company that Sienna knew how hard it usually took aspiring models to get into.

Instead, Tom exhaled and lowered the phone.

"No." The single word tumbled out of his mouth and Sienna blinked in surprise.

"What? No?" she repeated the word like it tasted too bitter.

"Do you know how huge of an opportunity this is?"

Tom heaved a sigh then shook his head.

"Maybe I don’t. I will need to think about it, anyway." he replied flatly.

She stared at him as if waiting for the rest of the sentence to correct itself. It did not. The man who had been stripped, mocked, and dragged through the morning as a public joke was not lunging at the first major brand willing to redefine the image for him. The restraint surprised her more than the offer itself had.

Tom handed the phone back. "Before anything else, I’ll work out how we handle the crisis around those pictures so it doesn’t keep hitting your brand."

Sienna recovered enough to shake her head. "You don’t need to overcomplicate that part. My PR team can manage it better now. A modeling offer changes the temperature. It gives them something cleaner to work with."

Tom studied her for a second, then nodded once. The urgent side of the conversation had somewhere to land, at least. He turned and went upstairs.

~~~~~~~~
In his room, the quiet felt different from the quiet of recovery. This one held a decision.
Tom sat on the edge of the bed and looked at the blank wall opposite him without really seeing it. His mind was filled with the thoughts of what he said he would think about;
Modeling. Not as a joke, not as internet mockery but as work. As a public body sold under controlled lighting and contract language. All his life, that word had belonged to a different category of people; taller in the right way, carved in the right way, born with proportions that made cameras obedient. He had never put himself in that picture.
The System spoke into the thought before it could harden fully.
[Host is hesitating.]
Tom did not look up before replying simply. "Yes."
[Why? Not long ago Host spoke about wanting a career. Something with weight and presence. A name that cannot be dismissed in a room.]
"I know what I said." His fingers curled loosely against his knee. "I just don’t know if this is something I have any real pull toward. Modeling?" Tom paused as the word left his mouth, let it sit for a second before continuing;
"Exposing myself on purpose. Turning my body into the product... I don’t think I’m made for that."
[Then Host has not been paying attention.] The System’s voice sharpened with impatience that was almost instructive. [This is the direction of the training. Confidence. Shamelessness. Physical presence. The ability to hold eyes without folding. What did Host think all of that was for?]
Tom’s jaw worked once. "There’s still the fact that I’ve never looked at myself and seen a model. Every one I’ve ever known had the kind of body people assume comes with the job. I’m not there."
[Host is rejecting a path based on insecurity instead of result,] the System said. [Doubt before trial is wasted thinking. If Host completes the three-part mission, the Gold Chest already contains what is needed to make a smooth entry into that industry.]
That made him lift his head curiously.
"What’s in it?" he asked.
[Everything Host would need to become a proper fit.] [Appearance support. Presence support. Industry viability. Everything you can think of, Host. However, the exact contents remain locked until the chest is earned.] The System did not elaborate further, which only made the statement heavier.
Tom sat with that image for a moment, not the roadside humiliation, not Adrian’s contempt, but a version of himself that entered rooms without first being measured for lack. The thought pulled something taut and interested inside him.
"Okay, now I’m interested," he said.
[Of course you will be.]
"And to get the chest, I still have to get into Goldy?"
[Yes. Part One repeats tomorrow. Host should use today properly.]
Tom nodded in understanding and reached for his phone, the line of action finally clear enough to follow.
He would browse the company, study the entrance systems and look for soft points, visitor routes, staff patterns, anything that made the building less sealed than it had appeared that morning.
The browser opened on old result pages and frozen images before he got there. One of the half-naked roadside shots loaded first.
The anger returned cleanly.
"That was Adrian," Tom said under his breath. "I know it was. I’m going to make him regret his hasty action." he gritted.
[Host should not waste focus on revenge fantasies,] the System replied. [Some debts arrange their own collection. Complete the mission in front of you.]
Tom held the image one second longer, then forced himself past it. He typed Goldy Realty Group into the search bar and began reading in earnest.
The first set of information was polished and unhelpful in the way official pages always were, just normal information about visitor policy, lobby process and the likes. He narrowed the questions, searching more directly;
’Who could enter without a company badge?’
The answer, when it came, was simple enough to feel almost absurd.
Only the CEO.
Tom clicked through to the executive profile.
The face that loaded onto the screen stopped him cold...
The CEO was Josie.
That was the stranger in the helpful car. The woman who had told him to get in, recovered his key, and returned his Mercedes.
"What?" The word left him sharp and disbelieving, loud in the quiet room. "What!"
