Offered To The Beastly Alpha
Chapter 112: The Royal Treatment
OLIVIA’S POV
I stood there for several seconds, staring at Margaret as I tried to understand what she had just told me. My bedroom was right next to Lucas’s? Of all the rooms in this enormous palace, why had he chosen one so close to his private chambers?
"Miss Olivia?" Margaret called gently. "Is something wrong?"
I quickly shook my head. "No, it’s nothing."
"Would you like me to show you inside?"
"Yes, please."
Margaret smiled politely before turning toward one of the large wooden doors. She opened it and stepped aside, allowing me to enter first.
The moment I walked inside, I couldn’t help looking around in surprise. The bedroom was enormous, much larger than the one I had occupied at Full Moon Pack. A king-sized bed stood against the far wall, covered with expensive white sheets and several soft pillows. There was a comfortable sitting area near the windows, a large television mounted on the wall, and beautiful curtains that stretched from the ceiling to the floor.
Everything looked expensive, from the polished furniture to the beautiful chandelier hanging above the bed. There were also two doors on the opposite side of the room, which I assumed led to the bathroom and dressing room.
"Do you like it, Miss Olivia?" Margaret asked.
"It’s beautiful," I admitted. "Thank you."
"I’m glad you like it. His Majesty personally instructed us to make sure you had everything you needed."
I glanced at her. "He did?"
"Yes, miss. If there’s anything you need that hasn’t been provided, please don’t hesitate to inform me."
I nodded, unsure of what else to say.
The guard carried my suitcase inside and placed it beside the bed before bowing and leaving. Margaret then showed me the bathroom and the dressing room, explaining where everything was kept. She also informed me that I could call for assistance whenever I needed anything.
"Would you like me to help you unpack?" she asked.
"No, thank you. I can manage."
"Very well, miss. I’ll leave you to settle in. Dinner will be served later this evening, and someone will come to inform you when it’s ready."
"All right. Thank you, Margaret."
She smiled and bowed slightly before leaving the room.
Once the door closed behind her, I let out a long sigh and sat on the edge of the bed.
So this was where I would be staying.
I glanced around the beautiful bedroom again, but instead of feeling excited, I felt strangely empty. Everything was luxurious, and I knew there were people who would give anything to live in a place like this. Yet all I could think about was Lucian and the expression on his face when I left him standing outside the mansion.
I wondered what he was doing now. Had he returned to his office, or was he still angry with Lucas? Knowing Lucian, he was probably pacing around his room, trying to figure out how to get me back.
The thought made my chest ache.
I reached for the phone Lucian had gotten me a few days ago, wondering whether I should call him. But after staring at his name on the screen for several seconds, I decided against it. He had promised to come and see me, and I knew he would keep that promise.
Besides, we had only been apart for a few hours. I didn’t want him to think I couldn’t survive a single evening without him.
I placed my phone on the bed and got up to unpack my suitcase.
It didn’t take long. I arranged my clothes neatly in the wardrobe, placed my toiletries in the bathroom, and set the few personal belongings I had brought with me on the dressing table. Once I was done, I returned to the bed and sat down again.
For the first time since leaving Full Moon Pack, I had enough time to think about everything that had happened.
Only a few days ago, I had been living as Princess Annabel, desperately trying to keep my true identity hidden from Lucian. Now everyone knew the truth, the marriage agreement had been dissolved, and I was living under the protection of the Alpha King himself.
It was almost impossible to believe how quickly my life had changed.
I had spent years serving other people, following orders, and trying not to attract unnecessary attention. I had never imagined that one day I would find myself caught between two powerful brothers, both of whom claimed to have feelings for me.
And the worst part was that I didn’t even understand my own heart anymore.
I loved Lucian. There was no doubt about that. He had become someone very important to me, and the thought of losing him frightened me.
But Lucas...
I sighed and rubbed my forehead.
Why did everything have to be so complicated?
I couldn’t deny that Lucas had done a lot for me. If he hadn’t intervened during the council meeting, I might have been forced to return to Blood Moon Pack. I was grateful for what he had done, but I still didn’t understand why he had insisted that I live in the royal palace.
Surely, he could have protected me while allowing me to remain with Lucian.
And why had he arranged for my bedroom to be right next to his?
I shook my head, deciding that there was no point worrying about questions I couldn’t answer. I would have to speak to Lucas eventually, and when I did, I intended to ask him exactly what he was planning.
For now, all I wanted was some peace and quiet.
I lay back against the pillows and closed my eyes, hoping to rest for a while.
I didn’t know how long I had been lying there when a knock sounded at the door.
"Miss Olivia?"
I opened my eyes and sat up.
"Yes?"
"It’s Margaret, miss. May I come in?"
"Of course."
The door opened, and Margaret stepped inside with a polite smile.
"I hope you’ve had enough time to rest."
"Yes, thank you."
"I’m here to inform you that dinner is ready. The Royal family is gathering in the dining room, and His Majesty has requested your presence."
I blinked in surprise.
"The royal family?"
"Yes, miss."
I glanced down at my clothes, suddenly feeling uncomfortable.
"Do I really have to come downstairs? I’m not particularly hungry. I could just have something here later."
Margaret’s smile became slightly apologetic.
"I’m afraid His Majesty specifically instructed that you join the family for dinner. Everyone has already been informed that you’ll be joining them."
I sighed quietly.
Of course Lucas had.
"All right. Just give me a few minutes."
"Certainly, miss. I’ll wait outside."
After Margaret left, I got up and walked over to the mirror. I straightened my clothes, brushed my hair, and checked my appearance one last time.
I wasn’t sure why I felt so nervous. I had already met Rebecca, Lucian and Lucas’s mother, so it wasn’t as though everyone in the royal family would be a stranger.
Still, having dinner with the entire royal family was something I had never imagined doing.
A few minutes later, I stepped outside and found Margaret waiting patiently.
"Shall we?" she asked.
I nodded.
We walked down the long corridor and descended the grand staircase. As we approached the dining room, I could hear faint voices coming from inside.
Margaret stopped beside the entrance and gestured for me to go in.
"They’re waiting for you, Miss Olivia."
I swallowed nervously before stepping inside.
The dining room was enormous, with a long polished table surrounded by elegant chairs. Beautiful chandeliers hung from the ceiling, and several servants were moving around, arranging plates and serving dishes.
But it wasn’t the luxurious surroundings that caught my attention.
It was the man sitting near the head of the table.
