Chapter 1945: Chapter 1945

"You’re pulling my hair."

The wind stopped and the rain ceased, Song Guanchao was heavily pressing on top of her, Wu Qiangwei pushed him with a playful tone.

Song Guanchao raised his arm, rolled off her, and lay beside her, breathing evenly.

Wu Qiangwei relaxed for a while, then slowly moved closer to him, resting her head on his arm, asking, "Are you going to deal with Wei Zejun?"

Song Guanchao slightly lowered his head and glanced at her.

From this perspective, all he could see were her curled eyelashes, not her gaze or expression.

"Someone came to inspect, something like this happened; tell me, shouldn’t I give them an explanation?"

"What do you plan to do?"

Wu Qiangwei uncharacteristically sought advice, hoping he would calm down and think of a rational strategy.

Impulsiveness solves nothing, it could easily lead into the opponent’s trap.

She still believed Wei Zejun’s actions were highly suspicious, not the kind someone with his status would do.

But the facts were laid bare, she had no choice but to believe.

"I’ll contact him tomorrow, once I collect evidence of his bribery, I’ll send him in."

Wu Qiangwei remained silent for a long time, Song Guanchao said, "Don’t worry about his tycoon father seeking revenge; he broke the rules first. Not only sending him in, even if I ruin him, no one can say anything."

True fairness never exists in this world, society is merely a jungle dressed in civilized attire; the real rule has always been whose fist is bigger.

If Song Guanchao wasn’t confident, he would have compromised when Wei Zejun suggested dividing the benefits, there wouldn’t be any of this afterward.

Conversely, Song Guanchao wasn’t afraid of Wei Zejun’s tycoon father, thus he had no psychological burden about potential revenge.

As for the consequences that revenge may bring, to Song Guanchao, it’s simply a non-issue.

"He better pray that this inspection isn’t affected by this scandal; if Sam backs out, I’ll have all the Wei family’s assets confiscated!" Song Guanchao’s smile was cold.

Wu Qiangwei smiled wryly, saying nothing.

"Get some sleep."

Song Guanchao held her tighter, closing his eyes.

The next day.

When Song Guanchao arrived at the office, he found Zhou Xingjian already waiting outside the door.

"Mr. Rao is leaving today, I’ve stopped her; do you want to see her?" Zhou Xingjian followed him into the office.

"Where is she?"

This meeting was inevitable; the incident happened, regretting was useless, he had to minimize the impact.

"At the guesthouse."

"Let’s go."

Song Guanchao just pulled out his chair, before he even sat down, upon hearing this he walked out.

Upon reaching the guesthouse, Wang Xiaowu saw them at the front desk and came up quickly: "Director Song, Director Zhou."

Zhou Xingjian asked, "Mr. Rao hasn’t left yet, right?"

"No, still in the room."

"Okay."

The two entered the elevator, Wang Xiaowu stopped outside.

Exiting the elevator, Zhou Xingjian led him ahead, soon arriving at Rao Yinyin’s room.

Knock knock.

After a short while, the door opened.

A weary-faced Rao Yinyin opened the door; upon seeing them, a hint of anger flashed across her brow.

Two days were enough for her to analyze many things.

She had already confirmed that though this setup seemed targeted at her, it was actually Wu Qiangwei’s political adversaries, acting to undermine her accomplishments.

Someone didn’t want them to settle in Jiangzhou under Wu Qiangwei’s leadership, resorting to such dirty tactics.

She merely became collateral damage in the upper echelon leadership’s power struggle.

Though she knew it had little to do with Song Guanchao, and that he took corrective actions afterward;

the harm she suffered was tangible and irrevocable.

Therefore, naturally, she wasn’t showing any friendliness towards Song Guanchao.

"Mr. Rao, can we come in and talk? Or should we change locations?" Song Guanchao asked.

"Say whatever you have to say here."

If not for Zhou Xingjian’s persuasion, she would have left yesterday.

She no longer wished to have any association with Jiangzhou; upon returning, she would report everything that happened here.

As to whether Chairman Yao might change his view on Jiangzhou due to her experiences, she didn’t care.

Song Guanchao raised his eyelids slightly, saying, "Let’s change locations instead."

With those words, he turned towards the elevator.

Zhou Xingjian stayed behind, saying, "Mr. Rao, let’s go to the conference room."

Rao Yinyin snorted lightly, picked up her room card, and followed.

They arrived at the hotel’s conference room, closed the door; Song Guanchao asked, "Mr. Rao, was yesterday’s inspection smooth?"

Rao Yinyin looked him in the eye, "Director Song, what do you want to ask? Do you want to know if I’ll report what happened over the past two days to Chairman Yao? If that’s what you’re asking, then let me be clear, I will relay everything down to the letter!"

"I’ll tell Chairman Yao that Jiangzhou’s political environment is terrible; investing here carries significant political risk."

Those words were laden with deep resentment.

Song Guanchao didn’t interrupt, waiting for her to vent before saying, "Mr. Rao, I have a suggestion for you."

Suggestion?

Rao Yinyin looked at him coldly.

"I suggest you don’t proactively mention this to Chairman Yao," Song Guanchao said seriously.

Rao Yinyin sneered, "Director Song, let me ask you, am I not an innocent party caught in this? Did they not target me to stop Sam from settling in Jiangzhou?"

"Yes," Song Guanchao acknowledged frankly.

At this stage, denial was meaningless.

"At least Director Song isn’t shirking blame," Rao Yinyin mocked, "Since I’m responsible for this inspection, naturally, I have to be accountable to the Group. I won’t exaggerate, but don’t expect me to conceal anything. Besides, your business environment in Jiangzhou is indeed dreadful!"

"Sigh."

Song Guanchao sighed, "Although I don’t want to say this, I must: pants don’t drop by themselves, and the butt doesn’t stick out on its own."

Rao Yinyin’s face changed, as if a cat whose tail had been stepped on, jumping up: "Song Guanchao, watch your mouth!"

Song Guanchao continued, "Whether it’s a honey trap or seduction scheme, such tactics don’t work on everyone. If you had no such tendencies, could you have fallen for them?"

He was being quite tactful, more unpleasant words hadn’t been said.

Rao Yinyin’s face turned red with shame and fury.

"I advise you not to speak to Chairman Yao about this, for your own good."

"There are so many foreign enterprises inspecting Jiangzhou, why did others have no issues, but you did? You say it’s Jiangzhou’s poor political environment; I say someone aimed at your position, wanting to eliminate you this way."

"You’re spouting nonsense!" Rao Yinyin cursed angrily, she couldn’t bear it, Song Guanchao was shameless.

After taking deep breaths for a few seconds, she regained composure, "You can go tell Chairman Yao, let’s see whether he believes you or me!"

As soon as she finished, she saw Song Guanchao looking at her with a strange expression.

"Mr. Rao, are you aware of what happened recently in Gwangju, Han Country at the Walmart Group?" Song Guanchao abruptly brought up seemingly unrelated information.

Rao Yinyin frowned, not understanding why he mentioned this.

Song Guanchao continued, "The obstruction your group faced in Gwangju was resolved by me."

Rao Yinyin’s eyes widened, blurting out, "Impossible!"

Song Guanchao smiled but did not explain, instead saying, "Let’s return to your question on whether Chairman Yao trusts you or me. I can tell you right now; Chairman Yao trusts me. Should I raise doubts, your position as the head of the Market Department is absolutely at risk."
