With Song Guanchao’s deliberate preparation, the police collected the evidence effortlessly.

Back at the police department, he reviewed the surveillance.

The surveillance video clearly recorded the entire process of Wei Zejun bribing.

Combined with the fingerprints on the suitcase, it’s enough to arrest Wei Zejun directly.

He immediately called Director Ma and assigned him the task of arresting.

Seeing his apparent skepticism, Director Ma dropped this message before hanging up.

Wei Zejun looked at his phone, feeling this must be a prank.

But since the caller was able to mention his name, it indicates they certainly know his identity.

Thinking for a moment, he dialed a number.

"Hey, Brother Du, I have a question. Do you have a Deputy Director Ma at your bureau?"

"Which one are you asking about?"

"Which one? Wait, are there other Ma’s?"

"Yes, there are two."

"Let me think, I believe his name is Ma Guowei."

"He just contacted me saying I’m involved in a criminal case and asked me to go to the bureau for investigation."

Du Ping, also a deputy director at the Jiangzhou Public Security Bureau, reacted strongly, indicating he hadn’t heard of any investigation involving himself.

After hanging up, Du Ping immediately called Ma Guowei.

He believed someone must be impersonating Ma Guowei to call Wei Zejun.

"... You’re overthinking, I would never tell him," Du Ping coughed and abruptly hung up.

He immediately called back Wei Zejun.

"Young Master Wei, I’ve verified, it’s indeed true."

"Oh? What did I do?" Wei Zejun wasn’t angry but rather intrigued.

He was curious to know what had gotten into the city police to dare arrest him.

"I asked but Director Ma didn’t disclose; it appears the operation is confidential."

Wei Zejun didn’t make things difficult, hung up, and headed to the city bureau.

After parking his car, he walked into the reception hall where the attendant was a middle-aged man.

Soon, Ma Guowei arrived; he hadn’t met Wei Zejun before, but there was only one person in the reception hall.
