Chapter 3031: Encountered the Other Party

Kimat could be seen tearing off the last piece of meat from the dead Lightning Weasel. All of the five monsters did not even have a chance at all with him present. They were unable to fully use their abilities because of the absolute suppression that Kimat has released. It was like this space itself is for Kimat and that he should be the future ruler of this place.

"I know that monster suppression is a legitimate thing in this game but this is the first time that I have seen it so one-sidedly. I am always impressed by all of your soulbound because they really do reflect the owner." Frey stated.

"I do not know if that was supposed to be a compliment or an insult because of the sight we are seeing now." Adrian stated as Kimat was swallowing the last of his meal.

What Frey said is indeed true as Adrian’s soulbounds are indeed like him. They look regal when afar and approachable when close but terrifying in battle. They definitely got the same personality as their master in some capacity as they also have some unique traits different from one another. Still, the overall vibe of Adrian’s soulbounds is definitely something else compared to other summoners.

"Anyways, we should get moving then. The third layer is definitely something else as even Kimat took quite a while to take down five monsters. We usually only take up a few seconds per monster but it took at least three minutes each." Adrian stated.

Even though one might think that Adrian is being arrogant by saying this, he knows Kimat’s standards. If Kimat’s pure power itself could not deal with mobs in seconds, then the monsters in this layer are indeed powerful. The most powerful ones might even be higher level than them. What they need now is to find the next entrance for the upper layer because this was not the end.

Adrian looked up and there were even more darker clouds above them which meant that this place is beneath another place. There should be a fourth layer for the Storm Cloud Ravine based on what he has observed of this Forbidden Zone Dungeon. If the enemies in the area are only the Lightning Weasels, then they would be able to clear it but Adrian is not convinced.

A summoner’s senses are sharpened in environments where beasts are present and he could tell that there are at least ten powerful monsters in this area. He could feel his instincts as a summoner tingling that each of those powerful monsters could put up a fight against them. The air pressure in the third layer is also more powerful than the second layer which puts him at a disadvantage.

"Okay then. What should we do? Where do we move?" Frey asked.

"Kimat, lead the way. Find a place where the electric current running in the air is at its thinnest. That should be the place where the entrance is. An entrance to the next layer should not be deadly, after all." Adrian commanded and Kimat nodded.

Kimat then ran through the air as if he was on the ground. He felt like he was at home and just casually strolling through the skies. Adrian and Frey followed Kimat as they ascended towards a certain area. When a random lightning strike is about to hit them, Kimat’s body would act as a lightning rod and direct the lightning strike towards him.

Kimat’s presence itself has become a cheat code for this area as the trick to this area that would have killed anyone which are the random lightning strikes are nullified. As long as Kimat is with them, Adrian and Frey ascended towards a higher area. Of course, they encountered monsters on the way but they were more accidentally triggered.

They would sometimes land on larger floating rocks that could be described as floating islands and encounter a monster there. They encountered something called a Storm Cloud Raptor that is actually level 400 which put up a fight. It was a monster that was a mix of a bird with the body of a leopard and wings that crackle with lightning.

They defeated the Storm Cloud Raptor but they needed to rest for a moment as they used quite a bit of stamina. They also learned something upon defeating the Storm Cloud Raptor. The lairs where powerful monster occupy could be used as a temporary shelter from the fierce winds and electric current in the air. Even when Kanlaon and Zorya disabled their wind protection applied to Adrian and Frey, the wind pressure and electric current in the air did not damage their masters.

[Temporary Shelter: 1 hour remaining.]

The temporary shelter did not last long though as it only lasted for an hour after defeating the monster guarding it. It seems that the monster there would respawn in an hour and they needed to defeat it again in order to claim the shelter but that would also mean losing the benefits of it. Still, this meant that they could hop from floating island to floating island and defeat the monsters in order to get shelter from the harsh environments.

Adrian and Frey were not the only ones that discovered this as three beings that take on humanoid forms are also doing this. They are currently in a shelter that they acquired after defeating a monster that is called a Storm Cloud Ursine. A bear monster that could harness lightning and even become larger with more lightning it devours.

"Are you certain that the thing we need is in the third layer? The monsters here are not easy to defeat at all and we need to recover from it. Just brushing past their skin would send electric currents to the body. We are not immune to the electric shocks and I am saying that when I have draconic blood in my veins." Kholki grumbled as some of his scales got charred from fighting the Storm Cloud Ursine.

"Do not complain. Here! Take my potion and shut your mouth." Mera stated as a potion was given to the grumbling Kholki.

"Have you finished creating a potion that can make me immune to the lightning strikes while I am flying? It was not a pleasant feeling when I got electrocuted while flying. It was fortunate that we crashed onto this floating island and the monster here could be defeated by us. If we were unlucky then we would have died or fell prey to a more powerful monster." Causian stated.

"Unfortunately, my tracker is no longer working because of the energy in this area. I cannot get an accurate grasp on the item that we need. Wait! Someone is out there!" Mera suddenly stated as his gaze became sharp.

The three Apostles of Typhon suddenly became ready as Mera’s senses were far sharper than them because he actually experimented on his own body. A body that could accept the cells of other monsters through transfusion. It is not something that should be done but the being that Mera was is not really considered a singular entity.

"Strange. This area has been cleared. Someone must have passed through here." A female voice echoed towards the cave.

"I do not detect any presence though which is strange. Did they abandon this area and moved on?" A male voice followed.

"That potion you used on the cave entrance really does work wonders." Causian stated but Mera did not believe in absolutes.

"Since this place is clear. We should move on then. There is no use dwelling here if we cannot kill a monster." The female voice stated.

"Okay then." The male voice replied and the area became silent for three minutes but Mera is not believing silence.

Mera then proceeded to take out a test tube from his coat and dropped some of his own blood in it. The test tube then shook before becoming volatile and cracking. A small monster that looked like a slime with an eyeball slipped out of the cracks and dropped to the ground. Mera then commanded the monster he created to check outside.

The eyeball slime monster wriggled to the outside in a manner that is not slow or fast. What matters most is that this eyeball slime monster is connected to Mera’s sight because he used his own eyeball as a main ingredient for this one. He did recover the eyeball in the end but only a mad alchemist would truly do such a thing.

The eyeball slime monster exited the cave and saw silhouettes of beings leaving. One had the silhouette of a horse monster and the other a serpentine monster that is either a dragon or a snake. The Apostles of Typhon encountered another party in a dungeon that could not be easily reached.
