OMG! Tyrant's Pampered Baby Is a Valued Princess
Chapter 1489: Don’t Go Far, Stay by My Side
Xie Yu and Feng Fuce locked eyes with cold looks, the tension between them like drawn swords.
Zhi’er saw it and immediately felt a headache coming on.
They came out here to catch an evil ghost, not to argue.
So she simply grabbed one with her left hand and the other with her right and pulled them apart.
"Enough, we’ll do it my way: you two launch one, I launch one. If anyone argues again, that person goes home!"
Once she spoke, Feng Fuce and Xie Yu didn’t object, though neither of them was willing to yield to the other.
Feng Fuce took the silver wire voluntarily. "I’ll handle the line. You hold the kite and run. Once it gets up, you let go."
Xie Yu was displeased. "Look at my skirt—do I look like someone who can run?"
"Then do you know how to launch it?" Feng Fuce looked at him coolly.
Xie Yu was instantly tongue-tied.
If he’d known that one day he’d be stumped by a tiny little kite, he would’ve played with these damn things properly when he was a kid!
Xie Yu grabbed the kite, scowling, and turned to walk forward. "Then I’ll just run a few times. You launch it properly, don’t screw with me."
Feng Fuce only smiled without answering.
Xie Yu ran holding the kite while Feng Fuce slowly fed out the line.
Several times, Feng Fuce spoke up in a cold voice. "Running like that, you’re just terrified people might not realize you’re a guy in drag? Act more ladylike."
Xie Yu almost blew up. "That’s how the skirt is, I can’t move my legs. If you’re so great, you do it!"
Feng Fuce raised a brow. "What I’m wearing is even more inconvenient. You keep running."
Zhi’er couldn’t help saying, "The mission comes first! Xie Yu, stop sulking!"
Hearing that, Xie Yu forced himself to tamp down his anger.
He held the kite and started running with a swaying, sultry gait, sometimes fast, sometimes slow.
Zhi’er watched him, breaking out in a cold sweat.
"The way he runs is terrifying," Feng Fuce commented in a level tone.
Zhi’er glanced at him. "I feel like if you went to run, it’d look pretty much the same."
Feng Fuce froze, then his tone turned oddly flat. "You’re taking his side?"
"I am not!"
While the two of them were exchanging words, Xie Yu was running himself half out of breath.
"Hey! Stop just chatting over there—why am I the only one working?!" he shouted in frustration.
Zhi’er hurriedly launched her own kite as well.
A gust of cold wind swept in, completely different from the warm sunlight from just moments ago.
Feng Fuce’s brows tightened. "They’re here."
Zhi’er instantly went on alert. "Close by?"
The evil ghost shouldn’t be too near yet; she still couldn’t sense it for the moment.
Feng Fuce nodded slightly. "They’re coming quickly. But don’t worry. Once they get here, they’ll use the aura to distinguish male from female. We’re far apart, and when they can’t be sure what we are, they’ll hover nearby instead of rushing in. We just need to wait for a chance, grab one, and the rest will be easy to deal with."
Zhi’er nodded at once. "Then I’ll move a bit to the left and you stay here. That way we cover a wider area and can lure them over faster."
Brother Fu Ce had said before that the scent of fortune on her body would be something those lust-driven starving ghosts would savor like honey.
Feng Fuce frowned. "Don’t go far. Stay right by my side."
However, Zhi’er was already standing about ten meters away.
She raised her voice. "Don’t worry! I’m wearing the protective ring you gave me!"
Zhi’er patted her neck, where the ring hung from a Red Rope.
Because when she wore it on her hand the ring was too big and kept slipping off, Zhi’er had simply decided to wear it around her neck instead.
Feng Fuce was about to go to her, but just then Xie Yu on the other side yelled, "Come help me!"
Turns out he’d run too fast, the skirt wasn’t suited to it, and he’d gone down in a fall.
When he stood up, the ends of his hair hooked onto a nearby tree branch; the more he struggled, the tighter his hair got tangled.
