"Okay, let’s get this one." Chen Mo put the mosquito net into the shopping cart, then looked at Su Yuqing. "What about the color? Light gray or blue?"

Su Yuqing looked and pointed to the soft, light blue one. "Let’s go with this one. It’s about the same color as the quilt you picked out."

After choosing the bedding, they pushed the cart toward the daily necessities section.

The shopping cart gradually filled up with hangers, storage boxes, slippers, towels, toothbrushes, toothpaste, and a series of other essentials.

Chen Mo was quick and decisive, tossing whatever they needed directly into the cart. Su Yuqing, on the other hand, was more meticulous, comparing brands and ingredients.

"Which shampoo do you want? I thought I saw you bring some of your own," Chen Mo asked, stopping in front of a shelf.

"I brought a small travel-sized bottle, but we should still get a big one. I’m used to this brand." Su Yuqing took a familiar bottle of shampoo from the shelf. "What about you? Want to try this one? The scent is really fresh."

Chen Mo leaned in and sniffed it, then nodded. "Not bad. It’s very refreshing."

After putting the body wash and shampoo into the cart, he then picked up a men’s skincare set with simple, gentle ingredients. After all, with Xiangsha’s sun and high temperatures, basic cleansing and moisturizing were necessary.

Good looks are partly due to natural beauty, but consistent upkeep is the key to maintaining one’s skin.

People aren’t gods. No matter how naturally beautiful someone is, if they treat their skin poorly, it will gradually lose its looks.

Take Su Yuqing, for example. In the past, she did so much manual work that thin calluses formed on her palms. After getting together with Chen Mo, while she still helped out, he almost never let her do any rough chores. Now, the calluses on her palms had gradually faded, and her skin was soft and tender once more.

After buying the men’s skincare set, he didn’t grab a women’s one for Su Yuqing.

This was because Chen Mo didn’t need to worry about her set at all. Her future mother-in-law, Chen Xi, had already arranged a comprehensive, custom skincare regimen for her, always watching over and caring for her.

This was her precious daughter-in-law, whom she doted on even more than her own son.

Chen Xi had told her to let her know in advance when things were running low, and she would replenish Su Yuqing’s supply at any time.

After buying the daily necessities, the two quickly entered the stationery section. Su Yuqing picked up a few thick notebooks and a box of pens. "The eight-year program will definitely involve a lot of notes. We need to stock up."

"Exactly," Chen Mo agreed, grabbing a few different-colored folders. "Having a few different folders will make it easier to organize things by category later on."

Su Yuqing nodded. They exchanged a smile and continued browsing.

It had the familiar comfort of a long-married couple.

When they passed the food section, Chen Mo stopped and grabbed a few cartons of milk from the brand Su Yuqing liked, along with some individually wrapped small bread rolls and cookies. "Sometimes you might get hungry at night while studying or scrolling on your phone. These are good for a snack. You can keep some in your dorm room too."

Su Yuqing’s heart warmed. She hummed a soft "mhm," and a smile unconsciously graced her lips as she watched how thoughtful and thorough he was.

After they finished shopping, Chen Mo found a store employee. "Can all of this be delivered together?"

"Yes, we can. As long as a single purchase is over 100 yuan, we offer home delivery. You can scan and pay for these items on the Juxin Mini Program, and then we’ll deliver the corresponding goods based on your checkout list in the Mini Program," the employee said with a smile.

Chen Mo glanced at the long checkout lines at the supermarket entrance and couldn’t help but think this service was quite convenient.

He immediately took out his phone and scanned the QR code on a card. With the employee’s help, he quickly scanned all their items. He then went to the product page on the Mini Program and added the bedding they had looked at earlier but hadn’t put in their cart. Finally, he added everything to his virtual cart, paid for it all at once, and they were done.

"How soon do you deliver?"

"Usually, we can deliver within half an hour of you placing the order," the employee said with a smile. "If you have any special requests, we can delay it for you."

"No need. Just deliver it on your normal schedule."

"Alright. Is there anything else you need?" the employee asked, smiling again.

"This is everything." Chen Mo glanced around the supermarket. He actually wanted to buy some fruit, but he’d noticed the quality in the fruit section was a bit lacking, so he didn’t say anything.

"Thank you for your business. Please come again."

After paying via the Juxin Mini Program, the two chatted quietly as they slowly walked out of the supermarket, watching the crowd of energetic freshmen still waiting in line.

By the time they walked out of the supermarket, the setting sun had already painted the sky a warm, orange-red. The temperature had dropped considerably, and a light breeze brought a hint of coolness.

They naturally held hands and walked back along the commercial street.

Passing a fruit shop, Chen Mo stopped again. "Let’s buy some fruit to take back. We should eat more fruit; the weather here is dry, and it’s good to get some vitamins."

He picked out some oranges and apples that Su Yuqing liked, and also had some green grapes weighed out.

Just as they were about to leave the fruit shop, a small gasp and the sound of something falling suddenly came from nearby.

It turned out a girl carrying a case of mineral water had lost her footing and nearly fallen. The case slipped from her hands, and the water bottles scattered all over the ground.

The girl’s face immediately turned bright red. She fumbled to pick them up, but she was holding too many other things and looked quite flustered.

Chen Mo barely hesitated before striding forward.

"I’ll help you." His voice was steady. As he spoke, he deftly helped the girl pick up the scattered water bottles one by one and put them back in the case. Then he effortlessly lifted the entire case. "Where does this go?"

Seeing a boy so handsome he instantly stole her heart appear beside her, the girl froze for a moment. She quickly pointed to a small pushcart not far away on the side of the road. "Ah... th-thank you! Just put it on that pushcart!"

Chen Mo set it down for her, only letting go after making sure the case was stable.

"Thank you so much!" the girl thanked him repeatedly. Her face was still a little red, but this time it was more from gratitude.

’But for a fleeting moment, she felt like this could be love.’

"You’re welcome." Chen Mo gave a slight nod, turned back to Su Yuqing, and naturally took her small hand.

Su Yuqing had been watching quietly the whole time, a faint smile in her eyes along with a hint of imperceptible pride.

’This was the Chen Mo she loved: calm, reliable, and always ready to help someone in need without a second thought.’

This small interlude didn’t take up much time, but it brightened Su Yuqing’s mood even more.

In contrast to her, however, the other girl’s heart shattered in an instant. The budding feeling of love immediately turned into the sting of heartbreak.

But she didn’t dwell on it. She just gave a self-deprecating smile as she watched the handsome and beautiful couple walk away. The setting sun stretched their shadows long, making them intertwine. The scene was so beautiful, she couldn’t help but feel they were a match made in heaven.
