Chapter 1448 Looking for Someone

  • Next Chapter

Igor's suggestions always bring a refreshing feeling.

It's a strange sensation, indescribably peculiar.

Amoon and Douglas looked at Igor, both thinking about the proposal he had just made. It seemed reasonable; perhaps they should find someone to ask. But upon deeper reflection, they realized this proposal was somewhat impractical. If they proactively sought someone out, it would mean exposing themselves, which would be counterproductive.

Thus, regarding Igor's recent words, Douglas and Amoon ultimately responded with a smile.

But this smile couldn't satisfy Igor, as he regarded the smiling faces of Amoon and Douglas with doubt.

"Hehe..."

"Haha..."

The awkward laughter of Douglas and Amoon brought more clouds to Igor's troubled face.

"Doesn't this work?" Despite his fluctuating emotions, Igor didn't speak loudly, because he knew that speaking loudly in this tavern would mean completely exposing himself and Douglas to others.

"We reserve our views on this; after all, we have no channels," Amoon said softly.

"Uh, why say this." Igor still didn't quite understand and started to probe deeper.

"We don't know whom we should ask, and can you discern if those people are reliable?" Douglas echoed.

This sentence plunged Igor into a short silence. Indeed, he hadn't thought it out thoroughly; he hadn't considered these issues that should have been taken into account.

Although Igor didn't think this matter couldn't be resolved, his heart was always filled with optimism. Unlike Douglas and Amoon, who held skepticism towards everyone.

Igor thought for a while, then cracked a smile.

"So, you have a new plan again." Amoon took a sip of beer and said. So far, their conversation had been discreet, not attracting others' attention.

"No, I just recalled a remark Lord Soron left us." Igor still wore a smile, as if feeling it was appropriate.

"What remark? Tell us." Douglas showed interest in Igor's words.

"I remember, Lord Soron urged us to trust!" The light in Igor's eyes emitted differently, giving him a bit of an aura when he uttered this sentence.

Though the voice was small, Douglas and Amoon were still taken aback.

Trust is a kind of powerful force, but not everyone can make such a response. At least now Douglas and Amoon couldn't do it; they couldn't trust those around them.

Trust did exist between them because they had experienced many things together, gaining a certain understanding of each other. However, given the current situation, they didn't have that kind of courage.

These people were all unknown existences, displaying an unfamiliar feeling in every aspect, and they dared not easily talk to or trust them. Such things, cautious Douglas and Amoon couldn't do.

But these words were not wrong. Trust indeed is a powerful force; they couldn't deny the existence of such a force.

Igor looked at these two seniors, and he understood the situation from his heart; this wasn't something he could persuade them on.

After all, these two seniors had experienced various things in this world, being deceived and harmed, which were the reasons for their caution.

"You're right, but being able to do this is indeed very difficult." Amoon directly admitted his shortcomings and didn't want to try.

"That's right, I don't have the magnanimity to trust everyone either." Douglas shook his head.

"Uh-huh, saying it is easy, but doing it is hard. But I think I should attempt it." Igor said, displaying strong confidence as if he was sure to succeed.

"Although I feel you're taking a risk, I still want to see whom you decide to approach. This curiosity compels me not to stop you; how should I say, it's like some force is driving me not to stop you." Douglas scratched his head, not knowing what to say.

"Indeed, my mind is also in chaos, but like Douglas, I want to see what you'll choose. It's strange, and I also feel there's some force driving me. Truly strange."

"Maybe that's the realization of the power of trust." Igor grinned as he found pleasure in the trust from these two seniors.

"Looks like it is indeed true!" Douglas and Amoon glanced at each other, then laughed.

"Okay, then I'll go find someone now." Igor finished his black beer, picked up a piece of food, and stood up.

Douglas and Amoon were surprised; was this guy not planning to talk to someone in the tavern?

Igor smiled at them, then headed straight to the tavern's exit.

No one paid attention to this young man; people in the tavern were engrossed in their own drinks, as if everything happening around had nothing to do with them, with only the wandering bard listlessly singing of matters of the heart.

"Why does he want to go out?" Amoon furrowed his brow.

"He's not a fool; wouldn't he see that eight out of ten people in the tavern are abnormal? If he's going to find someone, it will definitely be someone slightly normal." Douglas shrugged and finished his drink.

"Let's see whom he chooses to converse with." Amoon said softly, dipping his finger in beer to doodle on the table.

"Got to admit, you Alchemists really have quite a few tricks." Douglas watched Amoon and said softly.

Amoon conjured a small Exchange Beast, resembling a dragonfly.

This little dragonfly flew out unnoticed by anyone, as it was so tiny.

"With it, we'll know whom the guy is talking to." Curiosity drove Amoon to exchange for an Exchange Beast with a Spirit Vision.

Douglas naturally imparted Spirit Power onto the Exchange Beast, clearly eager to see Igor's choice.

The dragonfly Exchange Beast flew silently through the air, circling and observing, focusing on the boy holding food...

The boy with the food wandered the Romanvis streets, looking around as if searching for something.

What exactly is he searching for? No one knows. Among the people coming and going, no one paid him any mind, as if everyone had their own tasks.
