One Piece: Alucard the Immortal
Chapter 802 - 801: Are You Performing a Comedy Sketch?
"W-Why did you attack him?!" Yukina cried out in panic.
Alucard paid her no mind, staring down with cold indifference. "A creature incapable of executing even basic evasive maneuvers... and they call a thing like you a Progenitor?"
A few seconds later, the fresh blood pooling across the concrete began to flow backward into Kojo’s body. Even the gaping puncture wound blasted through his torso by Alucard’s bullet knit itself back together.
It was undeniably the exact same type of ability Alucard possessed, albeit with a significantly slower regeneration rate.
"S-Senpai... you’re not dead?" Yukina stuttered, staring in astonishment as Kojo picked himself back up.
"Uh, yeah... weren’t you aware of a vampire’s traits?" Kojo muttered, scratching his head in awkward embarrassment.
Only then did Yukina remember. Vampires, especially Vampire Progenitors, possessed absolute ageless immortality. The only way to truly slay them was through the use of specific, specialized weapons, such as the Schneewalzer she held in her hands.
"A vampire’s core vulnerability lies in the heart. Since you can survive having your heart completely obliterated, it seems you truly are a Progenitor."
Alucard’s voice cut through the air. The sudden statement caused Kojo and Yukina to snap back to reality, they had completely forgotten this psychopathic vampire was still standing right there.
"What is the matter? Are you not going to make a move?"
Alucard locked his eyes onto Kojo. Stumbling upon a kindred spirit the exact moment he arrived in a new universe, and a Progenitor no less, it would be a crying shame to leave without a proper battle.
Kojo stumbled backward, waving his hands frantically. "No! Wait a minute! W-Why on earth do I have to fight you?!"
Bang!
Another completely unexpected round ruptured the silence. This time, Alucard bypassed the heart and refrained from using the highly destructive Jackal. Instead, he opted for the white firearm, Casull, which possessed a faster rate of fire and slightly lower destructive output.
Yet, even so, the high-caliber round nearly severed Kojo’s right leg entirely. He let out an agonizing scream, collapsing heavily onto the concrete.
Even if he was immortal and could fully regenerate, the sensory perception of absolute pain remained entirely intact.
"Senpai, are you alright?!" Yukina urgently knelt by his side, her voice laced with concern.
"How could I possibly be alright?! Why don’t you take a bullet and find out?!" Kojo gritted his teeth, forcing his eyes up to glare at Alucard, who was already stepping unhurriedly toward him.
"What is this? You’ve only sustained a single bullet wound. What is with that pathetic, unsightly display from a Progenitor?"
A flicker of genuine confusion crossed Alucard’s eyes, though his overall expression was dominated by profound disgust.
A Progenitor was supposed to be the supreme pinnacle of vampire existence. What kind of sovereign squealed and wailed like a child over a single gunshot wound?
Before long, Kojo’s shattered leg fully mended itself, but the cold barrel of Alucard’s gun was already pressed firmly against his forehead. "A thoroughly repulsive creature. What right do you have to call yourself a Progenitor?"
"Step back! If you are so intent on fighting, I will be your opponent, vampire!"
Standing off to the side, Yukina snapped back into a flawless combat stance, shouting fiercely at Alucard.
Alucard merely cast a passing glance at the little girl, who looked barely fifteen years old.
In the next instant, a massive, unseen concussive force slammed into Yukina, launching her through the air. Her back collided violently against a nearby cargo container with a heavy thud.
"What... what just happened...?"
Yukina slumped onto the ground. When she forced her eyes open to look back, she realized she had been blasted dozens of meters away, yet she hadn’t even seen what hit her.
"The disparity in our strength... is simply astronomical."
Yukina managed to squeeze out the painful realization, finding herself entirely drained of the strength required to stand. Slumping helplessly against the metal container, she mustered the last of her energy to yell toward Kojo, "S-Senpai, you must be careful! That man... he is a Progenitor!"
A Progenitor!
Kojo shivered in shock. Was this really his very first official encounter with a fellow vampire, only for it to be a Progenitor right out of the gate?
But more than shock, a boiling wave of fury surged within Kojo’s chest.
In an instant, his entire aura underwent a radical transformation. His irises flared a brilliant crimson, and his fangs bared in a tight snarl. "I don’t care who you are. Dragging innocent people into this and harming Himeragi... is absolutely unforgivable!"
Alucard maintained a faint, ambiguous smile on his face, though internally, he was nearly dying of laughter.
What was this brat even rambling about? Dragging innocents? Since when did vampires give a single damn about collateral damage?
"Ahhh!!!"
Crackling currents of electricity erupted violently from Kojo’s body. Driven by raw adrenaline, he threw an aggressive straight punch aimed squarely at Alucard’s abdomen.
Bang!
A gaping hole materialized in Kojo’s stomach, while the muzzle of Alucard’s black firearm, Jackal, held casually in his left hand, emitted a thin, lazy trail of blue smoke.
"Are you performing a comedy sketch?" Alucard mocked openly.
Having fully embraced his vampire state, Kojo’s regenerative capabilities were noticeably faster than before. The gaping puncture wound through his torso was entirely restored in less than five seconds.
"Cough...! Shut up! I... I haven’t lost yet!" Kojo rasped, staggering as he forced his body to remain upright, stubbornly refusing to yield.
Alucard suddenly recalled the words of the priest from earlier, though he had already completely forgotten the man’s name. "Are the other three Progenitors in this world as pathetic as you?"
By now, the tone of Alucard’s voice carried a dense, unmitigated weight of disappointment.
A world governed by Vampire Progenitors... he had anticipated something grand, powerful, and exhilarating. Was this journey turning out to be yet another tedious, repulsive waste of time?
"I told you to shut your mouth! You mass-murdering, bottom-feeding piece of trash Progenitor!!!!"
The crimson hue in Kojo’s eyes burned even hotter, his voice rising to a roaring crescendo. Simultaneously, the raw vampiric energy swirling within his spiritual core surged exponentially.
Thrusting a single hand toward the heavens, brilliant gold lightning crackled wildly as a dense, suffocating pressure of vampire mana saturated the atmosphere. Kojo began to slowly intone his incantation:
"Inheritor of the bloodline of the Primogenitor, Kaleid Blood... Kojo Akatsuki hereby releases your chains once more... Come forth! Scurry across the heavens! Fifth Familiar, Regulus Aurum!"
The violent lightning enveloping Kojo rapidly coalesced into a blinding sphere of pure energy. Finally, a thunderous roar erupted from the light as a massive golden lion materialized, its majestic form wreathed in crackling, volatile currents of high-voltage electricity.
The deep disgust etched into Alucard’s features finally softened by a fraction. "This aura... it truly is an S-Class level vampire."
The moment the words left his lips, Alucard vanished from his position on the ground, reappearing high in the mid-air directly opposite Regulus Aurum. His physical form dissolved into a swirling vortex of pitch-black shadows, while a surging pool of blood materialized like a jagged buzzsaw, sporting countless crimson eyes that snapped open simultaneously in a bone-chilling display.
"Restriction translation approval line recognized. Level three, two, and one... released."
