One Piece : I Became a Monster Just by Eating
Chapter 35 Battle with the Black Cat Pirates
Meanwhile, Huiye put down the telescope and turned to Nami, saying, “We’ve been spotted.
Prepare for battle.”
Nami was already eager to fight at this moment.
Having just gained superhuman abilities, she was desperate to test her strength.
The three of them walked out onto the deck and ordered the sailors to bring the dragon soaring ten thousand miles closer.
The dragon soaring ten thousand miles quickly approached the battlefield, stopping at a distance of one hundred meters.
“Why aren’t we moving?”
Nami looked at Huiye with confusion.
“Use the Barrier-Barrier Fruit to create a path over this distance.
The three of us will go over.
Let’s not risk the sailors on the ship following us.”
Nami thought Huiye made sense and nodded.
She took a deep breath, feeling the surging power within her body.
Crossing her fingers, a semi-transparent Barrier instantly spread across the sea surface, forming a straight path that shimmered faintly in the sunlight.
“Let’s go.”
Huiye stepped onto the Barrier first, his steps steady as if walking on flat ground.
Nami followed closely behind, her heart racing with excitement.
She couldn’t help but look back at her masterpiece—this Barrier path spanning the sea was like a miracle.
Kuro stood on the wreckage of the warship, squinting as he watched this strange sight.
He adjusted his glasses, his gaze behind the lenses becoming sharp.
“Devil Fruit User…”
He muttered to himself, his cat claws gleaming coldly in the sunlight.
When the three of them reached the center of the Barrier, Nami suddenly stopped.
“Wait.”
A hint of cunning flashed in her eyes.
“Let me try my new ability first.”
As she spoke, she waved her hands, and several small Barriers shot like darts toward Kuro’s direction.
Kuro dodged with a flash, easily avoiding the attacks.
The Barrier fragments embedded deeply into the deck, showing astonishing hardness.
“Not bad toys.”
He sneered.
“But still far from enough.”
“Captain, should we fire the cannons?”
Jango walked over with Butch and Sam.
“No need.
Let them come.
I wasn’t satisfied earlier, so I hope they aren’t too weak.”
Kuro adjusted his glasses with his wrist.
“Nami, you handle that Kuro.
Use the Barrier-Barrier Fruit to protect yourself first, observe his footwork closely, and counterattack when he exposes a flaw.
Nojiko, you handle that fat guy.
I’ll take care of the rest.”
After all, Nojiko had only been training for a short time.
Although her physical fitness was several times better than before, her strength was still not that great.
Her swordsmanship was also just at a beginner level, so dealing with Butch alone was already quite challenging.
Huiye certainly couldn’t let her take risks, so Jango and Sam would have to be handled by him.
Huiye and the other two quickly approached Kuro and the others.
Huiye and Nojiko landed on the Black Cat Pirates’ ship, while Nami continued charging toward the warship where Kuro was.
“Interesting.
You two deal with those two.
This woman is mine.”
Kuro commanded Jango and the other two.
“Yes!
Captain!”
The three jumped back onto the pirate ship, and Nojiko was the first to attack Butch.
Just as Jango was about to make a move, Huiye instantly appeared in front of him.
“Your opponent is me.”
Huiye said calmly, and the next second, Jango was kicked into the cabin by Huiye.
“What!”
Butch and Sam were shocked.
They couldn’t see how Huiye had appeared; they had only seen such speed from their own Captain.
They never expected there to be someone in this world as terrifying as their Captain.
Nojiko swung Yubashiri at Butch, and the panicked Butch hurriedly blocked with his cat claws.
Sam tried to sneak attack Nojiko but was kicked into the sea by a Rankyaku from Huiye.
Sweat instantly broke out on Butch’s forehead.
Although the woman in front of him had some strength, her actual power was just average.
But the man behind her was too terrifying, forcing him to stay alert and distracted.
After dealing with Jango and Sam, Huiye began clearing out the ordinary pirates.
Nojiko fighting Butch alone was difficult but not dangerous.
On the other side, Nami stood on the warship deck, crossed her fingers, and a spherical Barrier instantly enveloped her.
Kuro sneered as he watched Nami stand motionless after coming up.
The next second, his figure suddenly disappeared, leaving only a sharp whistling sound in the air.
“Shakushi!”
Countless afterimages attacked from all directions, cat claws scraping bright sparks on the Barrier.
But no matter how dense the attacks were, the semi-transparent Barrier remained completely unmoved.
“Hmm?”
After a round of attacks, Kuro reappeared on the deck, frowning slightly.
He adjusted his glasses, his gaze behind the lenses becoming serious.
“It seems I underestimated you.”
Kuro said coldly.
“But how long can this turtle shell protect you?”
Nami showed a confident smile inside the Barrier.
“Long enough to make you surrender.”
She suddenly spread her hands, and the Barrier instantly expanded, wrapping around Kuro instead.
“What?”
Kuro was startled, wanting to retreat but it was too late.
He quickly swung his cat claws but found the space inside the Barrier shrinking rapidly.
“This is my new move—’Prison Cage’.”
Nami laughed.
“In this enclosed space, your speed advantage won’t work.”
Kuro snorted coldly.
“Petty trick!”
He accelerated suddenly, cat claws scraping a screeching sound on the Barrier’s inner wall, but still couldn’t break through.
Meanwhile, the battle between Nojiko and Butch also reached a fever pitch.
Although slightly weaker in strength, Nojiko gradually gained the upper hand with agile footwork and precise swordsmanship.
“Damn it!”
Butch roared, cat claws swinging wildly, but he still couldn’t hit Nojiko.
“Your movements are too obvious.”
Nojiko seized the opportunity, Yubashiri flashing a silver light, leaving a bloody mark on Butch’s chest.
On the other side, Huiye had already dealt with all the ordinary pirates and was leaning leisurely against the ship’s railing, watching the battle.
Seeing Nojiko gradually mastering the rhythm of the battle, he nodded in satisfaction.
“Damn it, what the hell is this thing!”
Feeling the space shrinking more and more, sweat beaded on Kuro’s temples.
He had never encountered such a troublesome opponent.
The space inside the Barrier had shrunk to less than three meters in diameter, and his “Shakushi” technique couldn’t be used at all.
The sparks from the cat claws scraping the Barrier reflected his gloomy expression.
“It’s useless.”
Nami stood outside the Barrier, maintaining her hand seal posture.
“Huiye said this Barrier is an absolute defense that can’t be broken by external force.”
“Enough playing.
Let’s try this move.”
Nami suddenly thought of a very cruel move.
“Barrier: Sea Urchin!”
In an instant, countless sharp spikes suddenly grew inside the spherical Barrier, stabbing at Kuro from all directions like a sea urchin.
Kuro’s pupils contracted sharply, desperately dodging and weaving in the narrow space, but the spikes grew faster than he imagined.
“Sss—”
A spike pierced through his shoulder, blood immediately staining his suit.
Kuro grunted, a flash of fear in his eyes.
He never thought his proud speed would be countered by such a simple move.
After being pierced by one Barrier spike, he could no longer dodge.
“Thud!
Thud!
Thud!”
Continuous spikes pierced through Kuro’s body, blood splattering into strange patterns inside the Barrier.
His glasses had long shattered, his suit dyed dark red, his whole body unable to move like an insect pinned in a specimen box.
“It’s over.”
Nami released her hand seal, and the Barrier instantly dissipated.
Kuro fell heavily onto the deck like a ragdoll, making a dull thud.
Meanwhile, Butch’s scream came from the Black Cat Pirates’ ship.
Nojiko’s Yubashiri accurately pierced his right shoulder, and the cat claws clattered to the ground.
“I surrender!”
Butch knelt on the ground, his bulky body trembling uncontrollably.
