One Piece : I Became a Monster Just by Eating
Chapter 50 Rapidly Increasing Strength
When Huiye emerged from the cabin carrying a chest, he was spotted by Edrago, who was fighting Nami.
“Bastard!
That gold is mine!”
Edrago opened his bloodthirsty maw, intending to hit Huiye with a Sonic Cannon.
“Smack!”
Nami slapped Edrago across the face, knocking him to the ground while he was still charging his attack.
“Can you focus when fighting me!
Focus!
Focus!”
Nami angrily kicked Edrago twice more.
She was no longer the weak woman who couldn’t even tie a chicken; these two kicks made even the sturdy Edrago cough up blood.
Seeing Edrago’s miserable state, Huiye shuddered.
“Good thing she wasn’t kicking me.
I still need to quickly awaken Armament Haki~”
Huiye flew back to the dragon soaring ten thousand miles with the treasure chest.
He made three trips back and forth, and each time, Edrago would get distracted because of Huiye.
Then he would be beaten up by Nami, who used him to vent her anger.
Nami was now completely using Edrago as a punching bag; otherwise, to kill him, one Barrier·Sea Urchin would be enough.
Not only was Nami abusing Edrago, Nojiko and Golas were not far behind.
Since eating the Pteranodon Fruit, Nojiko’s strength, speed, and reflexes had increased severalfold.
Even though Golas was quite capable, he was no match for Nojiko.
Yubashiri left over a dozen wounds on Golas’s body, the deepest ones reaching the bone.
After watching for a while, Huiye started dismantling the golden armor on the golden lion.
This set of golden armor was worth at least thirty to forty million Berries.
However, as soon as Huiye removed one piece, he noticed something was off.
“Hmm?”
Huiye lightly cut the golden armor with onikiri, and it broke.
“Damn!
It’s just gold-plated!”
Looking at the gray-black metal exposed at the break, Huiye stomped his feet in anger.
Unwilling to give up, he dismantled a few more pieces, only to find that all the golden decorations on the entire ship were fake gold-plated items.
“This show-off!
If you don’t have that much gold, don’t act so lavish!”
Huiye angrily threw the golden armor piece in his hand onto the deck, the sound of metal clanging echoing.
He turned to look at Edrago, who was still being beaten by Nami, a flash of anger in his eyes.
“Hey!
Edrago!
Is all the gold on this crappy ship fake?”
Huiye shouted accusingly.
Edrago struggled to get up from the ground, blood still at the corner of his mouth, but he revealed a sinister smile.
“Of course it’s fake!
If it were real, those shots of yours earlier would have cost me millions of Berries!”
“Only an idiot would decorate a ship with real gold!”
“Well…
I can’t say that.
Some people do decorate ships with gold.”
“And it’s real gold.”
Huiye thought of Eneru, who was still living it up on Sky Island.
His ark maxim was decorated with a large amount of gold.
“Forget it.
Gold-plated stuff isn’t worth keeping.
Let it sink if it sinks.”
Huiye now had over a billion Berries worth of treasure on his ship and didn’t care about this bit of gold.
“Nami, Nojiko, it’s about time to finish this.”
Edrago and Golas were already in a miserable state; there was no need to torture them further.
Better to give them a quick end.
As for why he didn’t recruit them, their combat abilities were just average, and recruiting them would require training.
They weren’t beauties, so it was completely unnecessary.
“Okay!”
The two women responded and then gave Edrago and Golas a quick end.
After the three returned to the dragon soaring ten thousand miles, Huiye used a Flying Slash to cut the golden lion in half, sending it sinking into the sea.
“Three chests of gold coins!
What a windfall!”
Nami excitedly counted the gold coins in the chest, her eyes turning into Berries symbols.
She casually tossed a gold coin into the air, its alluring glint shimmering in the sunlight.
Nojiko wiped the blood off Yubashiri and chuckled lightly:
“But this battle did help me master the Devil Fruit’s abilities more skillfully.”
“The Pteranodon’s explosive power is even stronger than I imagined.”
“Nami, give us a direction first.
Let’s set sail, and you can count slowly later.”
Watching the little miser counting gold coins one by one, Huiye shook his head helplessly.
“Okay~”
Nami reluctantly took the compass and sea chart to the bow of the ship.
Soon after, Moomoo pulled the dragon soaring ten thousand miles toward Clockwork Island.
“These pirates weren’t so bad~”
“They let me vent my anger and gave us so many gold coins~”
After finishing counting the gold coins, Nami closed the treasure chest and said with a sigh.
“Then why were you so brutal earlier?”
Huiye teased while lifting a specially made twenty-ton barbell for training.
“Wasn’t that because you told me to kill them~”
Nami pouted and flicked a gold coin toward Huiye.
Without looking up, Huiye caught it with the barbell, the metal clinking crisply.
“Your control over strength is that strong now!”
Nami widened her eyes in surprise, watching Huiye’s effortless movements.
“Hmph, you think my day-and-night training was for nothing?”
Huiye’s lips curled slightly as he continued lifting the barbell, his muscle lines standing out distinctly in the sunlight.
Nami pouted but didn’t argue.
Huiye was indeed the most diligent in training among the three.
Even though she and Nojiko had eaten Devil Fruits, they still couldn’t match Huiye in strength and combat skills.
Thinking about her and her sister’s strength, Nami couldn’t help but shake her head.
As an Ancient Zoan-type, the Pteranodon should provide the strongest physical enhancement.
But in terms of physical strength, her sister Nojiko’s body still couldn’t compare to Huiye’s.
Huiye’s physical strength was now like a monster’s.
The twenty-ton barbell felt like a toy in his hands.
“Huiye, Nami, dinner’s ready~”
Nojiko’s voice came from the cabin.
“Coming~”
Nami responded.
Huiye also put down the barbell and picked up a towel to wipe his sweat.
“When we reach Clockwork Island, I’ll need to forge an even heavier barbell.”
“This one isn’t effective anymore.”
“Not effective again!
You just changed it~”
Nami looked at Huiye in surprise.
Huiye had only used this barbell for a couple of days, and she and her sister had just gotten used to its weight.
“I don’t know why, but my strength has been increasing rapidly lately.”
“I feel like I could lift even if this weight were doubled.”
“Freak…”
Nami didn’t know what else to say, so she just muttered that.
“What’s so freakish about that?
The strong ones in the New World can shatter mountains with a casual strike.”
“I heard the Marine hero Garp leveled several mountains just to practice his Iron Fist.”
“That’s what you call a freak.”
Hearing this, Nami’s jaw dropped.
“Scared?”
“As long as you work hard, you’ll have that kind of strength someday too.”
“Your Barrier-Barrier Fruit is very powerful.”
Huiye closed Nami’s mouth and pulled her toward the dining room.
