One Piece : I Became a Monster Just by Eating
Chapter 61 The Chef Candidate
“Ah~”
“Comfortable~”
Nami put down the fish soup and let out a satisfied sigh.
“Delicious, right?”
“I made this, you know~”
Honey Queen said sweetly, seeking praise.
“You made this?”
Nami looked somewhat surprised at the smug Honey Queen.
“Of course~”
“You three all needed rest, so I had to cook~”
“Didn’t expect it to be so simple~”
Honey Queen proudly puffed out her ample chest.
Nami was about to offer a compliment, but upon seeing Honey Queen’s infuriating assets and glancing down at her own,
the praise died on her lips.
“Tch, it’s barely edible.”
“Hmph~”
Honey Queen gave a light hum, not offended, and instead leaned close to Nami, deliberately blowing a breath in her ear.
“Little Nami~”
“Jealousy can make your chest shrink, you know~”
“Who, who’s jealous!”
Nami’s face flushed red as she pushed Honey Queen away forcefully.
Nojiko shook her head with a chuckle and placed a piece of steak on her sister’s plate.
“Eat up, it won’t taste good when it’s cold.”
Watching the two women playfully bicker, Huiye smiled slightly.
“Although we can all cook, I think we should still find a chef.”
“A chef?”
“Why?”
“We can just cook ourselves.”
Nojiko asked, somewhat puzzled.
“Yeah, now that this woman can cook too, the three of us can handle it from now on.”
“Why bother finding another chef?”
Nami curled her lip at Honey Queen beside her.
“We need a chef.”
“The four of us will all be combatants on the ship in the future.”
“If this ship wants to sail farther, support personnel like chefs and ship doctors need to be fully equipped.”
Huiye put down his chopsticks and looked at the three women.
“This time, it was because Honey Queen was too weak to join the battle.”
“If all four of us are engaged in combat next time, who will tend to the wounded? Who will prepare hot meals?”
“Would you three have to prepare food while exhausted?”
Huiye’s words brought a brief silence to the dining room.
Honey Queen rested her chin on her hand, deep in thought; Nojiko nodded gently; and Nami stared blankly at the fish soup in her bowl.
“Huiye makes a good point.”
Nojiko broke the silence first, lightly tapping the table with her fingertips.
“We do need a professional chef, not only to ensure food quality but also to replenish everyone’s energy after battles.”
“I actually know a place with professional chefs!”
Honey Queen suddenly brightened up, excitedly slapping the table.
“Oh? You know about such things?”
Nami raised an eyebrow, a skeptical look on her face.
“Of course~”
“There’s a famous floating restaurant in the East Blue—Baratie.”
“They have the most outstanding team of chefs in the entire East Blue~”
“Baratie? I think I’ve heard of it.”
Nami felt the name sounded familiar, as if she’d heard it while stealing things before.
Upon hearing the name, Huiye thought of Sanji, that curly-browed blond.
He wasn’t thinking of inviting that pervert Sanji onto the ship but rather his pink-haired, big-thunder sister.
That kind of mature, charming woman—he definitely wanted to add her to his harem.
But now he was in the East Blue, and Reiju was in the North Blue; it was beyond his reach.
Huiye was about to say he already had a target in mind.
But Nami spoke first.
“Are there any women among the chefs at Baratie?”
She asked this not because she wanted another sister but because inviting a male chef would make many things inconvenient for them in the future.
Like dressing.
Right now, she was only wearing a very revealing bikini.
If there were a man on the ship, she wouldn’t be able to wear such comfortable clothes.
Then there was training—herself and her sister training, sweating and fragrant, with a man sitting nearby admiring their graceful figures; just thinking about it made her uncomfortable.
Honey Queen recalled the chef team she’d seen when she visited Baratie to eat.
“Female chefs… I don’t think there are any.”
“Then it’s no good~”
“Huiye won’t invite a man onto the ship~”
“This ship can only carry his women~”
Nami proudly wagged her finger and winked at Huiye.
Huiye smiled helplessly, picked up his juice, and took a small sip.
“His women~”
Honey Queen’s pretty face flushed unnaturally.
She hadn’t officially become Huiye’s woman since joining.
The flirtation had just started in the morning when the Marine interrupted.
“Actually, I have a chef candidate.”
Huiye put down his cup and spoke up.
“You have someone in mind?”
The three women looked over simultaneously.
“It’s not one of your women, is it~”
“You brought this up just to go pick her up, didn’t you?”
Nami narrowed her eyes, a sly smile on her face.
Huiye cleared his throat, feigning calm as he spread his hands.
“How could that be? I just think she’s really suitable.”
“Oh? Then tell us, who is it?”
Nojiko also became interested, resting her chin in her hands as she stared at Huiye.
“I once met a tavern owner in Foosha Village, Goa Kingdom.”
“Her cooking skills are excellent; she can make all kinds of dishes and also brews juice and fine wine.”
“I think she’d be perfect as our chef.”
“Goa Kingdom!”
Nami and Nojiko exclaimed in unison.
“I know what you want to say, but it’s fine. Who knows we did that thing?”
“Besides, it’s called hiding in plain sight.”
Huiye waved his hand with a smile.
“A tavern owner~”
“Is she pretty~”
Nami stood up, straddled Huiye’s legs, wrapped her arms around his neck, and gently rubbed her nose against his chin.
“Well…”
Feeling the warmth of the girl in his arms, Huiye curled his lips into a mischievous smile.
“She is quite charming, a mature and intelligent woman.”
“Hmph!”
Nami immediately puffed out her cheeks and poked his chest hard with her finger.
“I knew it! You’re up to no good again!”
Nojiko shook her head helplessly.
“So, what’s this tavern owner’s name?”
“Makino.”
Huiye gently stroked Nami’s back.
“Are you close to her? Will she agree to join us?”
Nojiko asked the key question.
Identifying a candidate was just the first step; whether she’d agree was still unknown.
“Well… we met once.”
“Met once?”
The three women frowned simultaneously.
“Then how will you convince her to join us?”
“You know, even though we’re not flying a pirate flag now, you’re already wanted.”
“We’ll definitely become pirates in the future.”
“Why would she risk joining our Pirate Crew?”
Nami pinched Huiye’s cheeks and kept pulling.
Huiye grabbed Nami’s mischievous little hand and said with a smile,
“With my silver tongue, of course~”
“Although I haven’t interacted with her much, I could tell she’s someone who yearns for freedom.”
“If I try hard, I should be able to trick her onto the ship.”
The three women rolled their eyes in unison.
