Smoker’s Office—

Tashigi stood in front of the office door, feeling a little nervous.

She took a deep breath and gently knocked on the door.

“Come in.”

Smoker’s low voice came from inside the door.

Tashigi pushed the door open and saw Smoker with a cigar in his mouth, looking down and flipping through documents.

He looked up, his gaze falling on the envelope in Tashigi’s hand, his brow slightly furrowed.

“Is something wrong, Tashigi?”

Tashigi walked forward, placed her resignation letter on the table, her voice firm yet tinged with reluctance.

“Captain Smoker, this is my resignation. I want to… leave the Marine.

Upon hearing this, Smoker immediately picked up and opened the envelope.

“Leave the Marine! Why?”

“…”

Tashigi was silent for a moment, then told the truth.

“He came for me. I want to go with him.”

“He? Kaguya?

What a joke! I’m not arresting him out of respect for you, and he actually wants to take you away! I disagree! You are an excellent Marine, and your sense of justice should not be swayed by personal affections!”

I disagree! You are an excellent Marine, and your sense of justice should not be swayed by personal affections!”

Smoker slammed his hand on the desk and stood up abruptly, the smoke from his cigar swirling violently in the air.

Smoker’s roar echoed in the office, but Tashigi remained calm.

She looked up, her gaze firm as she met Smoker’s eyes.

“Captain, my justice has never changed. But there are some choices I must make for myself.”

Smoker stared at her, a complex emotion flashing in his eyes.

He slowly sat down, took a deep drag from his cigar, trying to calm his inner rage.

“Tashigi, do you know what you’re doing? Following a wanted pirate, what will your future be like?”

“He’s not a pirate.”

Tashigi said softly.

“He has never harmed the innocent, nor has he ever betrayed his beliefs. I believe in him.”

“That’s still not allowed! I can’t just watch an excellent Marine run off with a pirate!”

I’m going to arrest him right now! Isn’t it just for a man?

At worst, I’ll bring him back and lock him up in the Marine Base!”

With that, Smoker turned into smoke and flew out the window.

Arriving at the parade ground, Smoker loudly ordered the training Marine soldiers: “The pirate Kaguya has appeared in Loguetown! Everyone depart now! Search for his whereabouts! Notify me immediately upon discovery! Do not act rashly!”

All the Marine soldiers heard the anger in Smoker’s voice and immediately grabbed their equipment, rushing out of the Marine Base.

Seeing this, Tashigi hurriedly chased after him, but only saw Smoker, transformed into smoke, disappearing into the distance.

She gritted her teeth and turned to run towards the agreed meeting place with Kaguya.

The sound of Marine soldiers marching in formation could already be heard on the streets, and the atmosphere of the entire Loguetown suddenly became tense.

Kaguya was waiting for her arrival at the inn where Tashigi first stayed.

Suddenly hearing the commotion on the street, he walked to the window and looked out curiously.

“So many Marines… could they be looking for me?”

Kaguya leaned against the bed with a composed expression, watching teams of Marines below asking around with a wanted poster.

Although Kaguya wasn’t afraid, he wouldn’t foolishly walk out. He just needed to wait for Tashigi to arrive and take her away; there was no need to cause extra trouble.

After waiting in the room for a while, Kaguya saw Tashigi rushing towards him on the street.

Tashigi pushed open the inn room door, panting, her fringe soaked with sweat and clinging to her cheeks.

“Hurry!”

She grabbed Kaguya’s wrist.

“Captain Smoker is looking for you with all the Marines!”

Kaguya clasped her slightly trembling hand in return and chuckled, “Silly girl, no need to run, and you can’t run. Didn’t you notice Smoker right behind you?”

“What?!”

Tashigi was startled. The next second, a cloud of smoke flew in through the window.

“Kaguya, how dare you abduct Tashigi from the Marine?”

Smoker’s figure gradually solidified from the smoke, and the ash from his cigar fell with his angry breaths.

His right hand had already elementalized, white smoke surging in his palm, ready to attack at any moment.

Kaguya shielded Tashigi behind him, a calm smile still on his lips.

“Abduct? Captain Smoker, Tashigi is my woman, so how can it be abduction?

I merely wish to keep my woman by my side.”

Smoker’s anger intensified, and his smoke-transformed arm suddenly expanded, the temperature of the entire room seemingly rising with it.

“Stop with your sweet talk! Tashigi is a key officer trained by Marineford, not some plaything you can just take away!”

“Watch your words. Tashigi is the person I love, not a plaything.

If you keep slandering her, I won’t be so polite.”

Kaguya gently shook his head, his right hand already on the hilt of the sword at his waist.

Tashigi hurriedly stepped between the two.

“Stop! Captain Smoker, this is my own decision!”

“Move aside, Tashigi!”

Smoker said sharply.

“I’m going to make this arrogant brat realize that Loguetown isn’t a place he can just come and go as he pleases!”

Outside the window, a sudden sound of orderly footsteps could be heard; dozens of Marines had already surrounded the inn.

Kaguya glanced out the window, his smile deepening.

“It seems Captain Smoker is determined to keep me here.”

“Kaguya…”

Tashigi looked at him anxiously, but he gave her a reassuring look.

“Don’t worry, I won’t kill him.”

As Kaguya spoke, he suddenly drew his sword, and the blade’s light blossomed in the room like moonlight.

“However, it’s time to show some people why I dared to come to a Marine Base alone to pick someone up.”

Smoker snorted coldly, his smoke-transformed body instantly expanding.

“White Blow!”

The white smoke fist came like a cannonball, but Kaguya merely swung his sword lightly, and a fierce sword energy split the smoke in two.

The sword energy’s momentum did not diminish, directly splitting a huge gap in the inn’s wall.

“Fighting here will harm innocent people.”

Kaguya said, and with a flash, leaped out of the gap.

“If you want to fight, come outside!”

Smoker followed closely, and the two moved rapidly across the rooftops of Loguetown.

Tashigi anxiously chased after them.

Kaguya and Smoker pursued and fled all the way to Loguetown’s plaza.

“Oh? We actually ended up here.”

Looking at the execution platform not far away, Kaguya stopped, turning to face the relentlessly pursuing Smoker.

The sea breeze ruffled his clothes, and demonic energy coiled around onikiri, forming a stark contrast with the smoke surrounding Smoker.

The citizens in the plaza had long since scattered in panic, leaving only the Marine soldiers who had rushed to the scene, surrounding the plaza.

“This place is quite suitable for a decisive battle.”

Kaguya gently stroked the blade, and onikiri let out an excited hum.

“It was on this execution platform that Roger started the Great Pirate Era. Today…”

“Stop spouting nonsense!”

Smoker’s arms transformed into billowing white smoke.

His

“Jitte” gleamed coldly in the sunlight. “Today, I’ll show you the power of justice!”
