One Piece : I Became a Monster Just by Eating
Chapter 79 Dezaya
Tashigi was taken back to the lounge by Nojiko and the others.
Only Kaguya, Nami, and a group of working shipwrights remained on the deck.
“The Chamber of Commerce owner has already delivered the Sea King meat, but the quantity is much more than we ordered.”
“Hmm? Why?”
Kaguya looked at Nami in confusion.
“He said we helped eliminate Major Mouse and also caused a large number of other Marine scum in the East Blue to be exposed and cleaned out.”
“Since we avenged him, he specifically sent more as a thank-you gift.”
“Interesting, those Marines really did cause widespread resentment.”
Kaguya rubbed his chin thoughtfully.
“By the way, we bought a bunch of medical books and supplies in Loguetown this time.”
“So my sister and I converted your cultivation room into a medical room.”
“Since you practice on the deck anyway, that room has great lighting and is perfect for Kaya to use as a medical clinic.”
“Alright, that’s very thoughtful.”
“Let’s head inside too.”
In the evening, to welcome Tashigi and celebrate leaving the East Blue tomorrow, everyone held a lively banquet.
After the banquet, Kaguya took a slightly tipsy Tashigi back to the Captain’s Cabin.
Because there were more and more women on the ship, Nami and Nojiko had also moved downstairs.
Kaguya’s Captain’s Cabin became their rotating residence; whoever wanted to come would go up.
Absence makes the heart grow fonder, and a hearty battle was inevitable.
The next day, the shipwrights from the shipyard arrived early to work, showing great professional dedication.
Everyone was woken up by the clanging sounds. When Tashigi opened her eyes, she saw Kaguya looking down at her with a smile.
Tashigi’s cheeks instantly flushed, and she hurriedly pulled up the quilt to cover half her face.
Kaguya chuckled and brushed aside the messy strands of hair on her forehead.
“Did you sleep well last night?”
“Mm…”
Tashigi’s voice was as faint as a mosquito’s buzz, and her fingers unconsciously twisted the corner of the quilt.
“Time to get up. Makino should have breakfast ready by now.”
Kaguya could already smell the faint aroma of food.
“You go out first…”
Tashigi pushed Kaguya with a red face. The latter stood up with a laugh, planted a kiss on her forehead, and then left the room.
In the kitchen downstairs, Makino, Nojiko, and Honey Queen were preparing breakfast.
“Aren’t Nami and the others up yet?”
“They are. Nami took Kaya to town.”
“I heard Kaya say she wanted to research some kind of potion, so they went to buy medicinal ingredients.”
Nojiko replied without looking back.
“A potion?”
“Yeah, that’s what they said anyway.”
“Fair enough.”
Kaguya shrugged and walked out of the cabin.
The efficiency of these shipwrights was very fast; the deck modification was almost complete.
If Nami and the others took a bit longer to return, the deck might be finished by the time they got back.
While Kaguya was standing on the deck admiring the construction progress, a sudden commotion broke out in the distance.
A curvaceous woman was striding toward them with a group of followers. Her red and yellow hair was particularly striking in the sun. Her full chest was wrapped in bandages, and two sharp scimitars were tucked into her waist.
“Hey! I saw you cut Smoker yesterday.”
Her voice was loud, carrying a hint of provocation.
Kaguya leaned against the railing and looked down.
“Oh, and?”
“It’s not like you’re going to avenge him, right?”
“Of course not. You’re strong, I want to join your Pirate Crew.”
“I want to learn how to cut Logia Devil Fruit Users.”
“Teach me.”
The woman’s words surprised Kaguya quite a bit; he had thought she was there to challenge him.
After all, in this pirate world, there were plenty of people who were missing a few screws.
Looking at the rather charming woman before him, a playful smile curled at the corner of Kaguya’s mouth.
He noticed that although the followers behind Dezaya had fierce expressions, their eyes showed absolute obedience to this female leader.
“And your reason?”
Kaguya crossed his arms.
“I don’t take in people of unknown origin.”
Dezaya boldly tossed her Red Hair and gave a wild smile.
“I’ve been hanging around the East Blue for so long, I’m already tired of it!”
“As long as you let me join, I’ll do whatever you want.”
She patted the twin blades at her waist.
“And I’m no decorative vase; these two blades have cut down quite a few arrogant guys.”
“Interesting. What’s your name?”
“Dezaya!”
She stood tall, her voice carrying an unquestionable pride.
“The pirates of the East Blue call me ‘Red-Haired Demoness,’ but—”
She suddenly grinned, revealing sharp canine teeth.
“I’d prefer you remember my real name.”
“Dezaya… There’s no problem if you want to join, but you might not be aware—I only take women on my ship. I won’t be taking your followers.”
Dezaya burst out laughing upon hearing this and turned to wave a hand at the followers behind her.
“You heard that? Disband!”
That group of fierce-looking followers didn’t say a word; they bowed in unison and quickly departed.
This made Kaguya raise an eyebrow—it seemed this woman’s authority among her subordinates was extraordinary.
“Is it okay now?”
Dezaya stood with her hands on her hips, the bandages across her chest trembling slightly with her movements.
“I’ve wanted to ditch those deadweights for a long time.”
As she spoke, she suddenly leaped, nimbly jumping onto the deck and landing without making a sound.
The working shipwrights were all startled by this sudden appearance.
Dezaya didn’t care at all and walked straight up to Kaguya, the two of them locking eyes.
She was half a head shorter than Kaguya, but her aura was not diminished in the slightest.
“Can I join now?”
“No problem, but there’s one more thing to make clear.”
“The women on this ship are all my women. If you want to join, you must also be my woman. Can you accept that?”
Kaguya’s gaze wandered over her body with a hint of scrutiny.
Dezaya was stunned for a moment before laughing loudly, her laughter full of wildness and lack of restraint.
“Hahaha! Interesting! I like men who are straightforward!”
She suddenly leaned in close to Kaguya, close enough to feel each other’s breath.
“However, you’ll have to prove you have the ability to conquer me first.”
The smile on Kaguya’s face deepened as he reached out to tilt Dezaya’s chin up.
“You’ll find out soon enough.”
As soon as he finished speaking, Dezaya felt the world spin. When she regained her senses, she found herself pinned against the railing by Kaguya.
His arm was like an iron pincer, firmly imprisoning her and making her unable to move.
“Now, any more questions?”
Kaguya’s low voice sounded in her ear, his warm breath brushing against her earlobe.
A flash of surprise crossed Dezaya’s eyes, but it was quickly replaced by excitement.
“Interesting! It seems I didn’t choose the wrong person!”
Instead of struggling, she actively pressed closer to Kaguya.
“Then I’ll be in your care from now on, Captain~”
Kaguya released Dezaya and admired the woman before him with satisfaction.
He also remembered who this woman was now; wasn’t she the Captain of the Sweet Pirates and Bartolomeo’s childhood friend?
Although he didn’t know why she hadn’t formed her own Pirate Crew, it would be a waste not to eat the meat that was served up.
