Chapter 376: Violet’s Eternal-Level World, Ember

Leon was genuinely surprised by the information about the eternal worlds Violet gave him.

There was truly a lot that Leon didn’t know about the eternal worlds, especially seeing how Violet reacted when talking about her home and family.

She needed to at least be level 100 and conquer the [Eternal Battlefield] to come back to her world and feel "welcomed" by her people.

Anything else and it would be considered a total failure in their eyes, a mark of shame she couldn’t bear to return with.

"Which is why I owe you my life," Violet beamed, "Both in the real sense but also figuratively for giving me a second chance."

Once the two were done talking, Leon teleported them all inside of the [Imperial Kingdom] once more, appearing in the familiar streets near the inn.

As soon as they appeared outside the inn, Leon noticed dozens of guards stationed around the building, their eyes fixed on him with barely concealed hostility and suspicion.

None of them attacked, but he could sense the tension in the air around them, thick enough to cut with a knife as they glared at him.

"Disgusting human, get out of our kingdom...!" one of them muttered under his breath, just loud enough to be heard.

"Y-You think because you’re stronger than us you can do whatever you want?" another added, his voice shaking with anger and fear.

"You’re lucky the queen told us to back away, or you’d be dead meat!"

"Sure," Leon smiled, and it was enough to send shivers down the spine of them all, including some of the generals present.

They couldn’t defy the queen’s order or they would be considered traitors themselves, which would mean certain execution.

And even if they attacked, what were their odds of beating this human who had defeated their strongest commander in the arena?

It was pretty much zero, plus the [Dragon Empress] was with him.

"We can relax for the next few days until the big event," Violet stretched lightly, "So~ Do what do you three wanna do?"

"Sleep..." Emilia and Celeste said at the same time, their voices heavy with exhaustion from the long night.

It was indeed the middle of the night, and Violet, realizing that, simply nodded in understanding.

"Alright, I’ll send you a message tomorrow then, Leon," she said with a wave as she prepared to leave.

Fwoosh!

She released her wings and flew into the sky, probably toward her own place, disappearing into the darkness of the night.

Meanwhile, Leon, Emilia and Celeste returned to their inn chamber, the girls sleeping while Leon kept watch, his mind too active to rest after everything that had happened.

He actually decided to open the [God of War’s Letter] again, even though it had only been around half an hour since he had last looked at it.

But unlike the previous time, no new text appeared on the page, the words frozen and silent without any new messages.

The eye printed on the paper was still looking at him with its unsettling gaze, but it seemed like the [God of War] didn’t want to talk at this moment.

Looking through the rest of his [Storage Space], he paid attention to some of the items he had yet to use or find a purpose for.

[Core of Poison (Special Material): Can be used to infuse an armor with the power of the "Core of Poison"]

[Tower of Souls Token (Mythical): Allows the user to enter the "Tower of Souls", no matter what you do, do not do it.]

[Divine Key (???): A weird key that lets out a divine glow, perhaps could be used somewhere.]

[Magicless Core x2 (Ascendant): A core that is able to completely distort the air around it to almost fully destroy Spirit, it will not fully work as intended now that it was separated from its owner, but perhaps it can be used for something else.]

All of these items he had obtained at some point in his journey, with the magicless core being the most recent addition from his time in the exiled lands.

Though for each of them he hadn’t found a use since either he hadn’t found where to use them, or anybody with the skills to help him use them properly.

’Hm... The tower of souls token is obviously for that place, and the cores can be used on equipment but... what the hell is the [Divine Key] for?’ he wondered.

He had obtained it from the [Divine Box] he acquired from finishing first in the [Divine Academy]’s event back when he first arrived.

It likely meant it was related to the academy at least to some degree, perhaps opening something within it.

’I’ll have to ask Dominik once more, though I don’t want to go until I’m strong enough to take him on in case things go wrong.’

Just like that though, the night passed, and as the rays of sunlight appeared from the window, Emilia and Celeste woke up refreshed.

The three ate breakfast and left the inn for now, eager to meet Violet and prepare for the upcoming [Excursion].

The next days happened without anything of significance occurring, Leon, Celeste and Emilia mostly spending time in the imperial kingdom’s left wall and defeating beasts that came their way.

Though even the guards that had thanked them yesterday for the help seemed much more hostile and cold toward them now, their gratitude forgotten in the wake of the killings.

Leon didn’t care though as he focused on acquiring items and giving them to his companions if they seemed useful or selling them for profit on the market.

One might believe that Leon’s constant selling would eventually saturate the market, but Leon knew that would never be the case given the sheer scale of the game.

There were simply far too many people in [Eternal Ascension] across all the domains to even worry about that happening.

And since no one but him had the ability to acquire so many items so quickly, it was all fine and the demand remained high.

Leon managed to level up to level 93 during that time, and Celeste and Emilia both leveled up once as well through the constant fighting.

As for Alphox and Pyra, the baby dragon even after killing a lot of monsters didn’t level up even once, its experience requirements clearly immense.

’Harder to level you than me, huh,’ Leon sighed as he patted the small dragon’s head affectionately.

It was able to one-shot literally every monster they came across though, so it wasn’t surprising that the experience required was massive.

Pyra on the other hand leveled up to level 5, making steady progress.

And eventually, once another morning arrived and the sun was barely peeking over the horizon, Violet was already knocking at their door with urgency.

As she received no response from the tired group, she simply entered through the window instead with practiced ease.

She had somehow managed to become friendlier with Celeste and Emilia over the past few days, who were cautious of her at first but had warmed up to her.

"Wake up~" she smiled brightly, "Its the day of the event, we don’t get this often, so let’s get moving!"

I wonder what you guys think of the pacing, I’ve been trying to make it not too fast but not too slow, and increasing the world building since it matters a LOT for the plot in the future :)!
