Chapter 467: Using the Kings’ Items [2], Three New Skills

  • Next Chapter

Leon currently had five skill books he acquired in the Monster Tide that could actually be useful to him and the girls in his [Storage Space], each one holding the potential to turn the tide of battle.

[Skill Book: Abyss Teleportation (Ancient), Venom Nova (Legendary), Flame Boost (Ancient), Sub-Zero Zone (Ancient), Void Detonation (Divine)]

All of these were from the kings except for Abyss Teleportation, which came from the Vessel of Abyss that Leon had killed earlier in the battle.

Either way, he checked out the description of all the skills once more, scanning each one carefully to determine the best use for them.

[Abyss Teleportation (Ancient): Set up to 3 Abyss Rifts in the battlefield and allow yourself to use them whenever you want to teleport. Requirement: At least one abyss-related sub-talent or ability.]

[Flame Boost (Ancient): An extremely powerful passive skill, allowing the user’s flames to become much stronger. +150% Affinity.]

[Sub-Zero Zone (Ancient): Create a 1000x1000x1000 meters zone where all of your ice-related abilities skyrocket in power. Makes it hard for the opponent to see inside or even focus.]

[Venom Nova (Legendary): Release a massive explosion of venom that spreads across the battlefield, poisoning all enemies caught in the blast and dealing damage over time.]

[Skill Book: Void Detonation (Divine): Charge a sphere of pure void energy and launch it with your staff or strike it with your sword to send it flying toward your enemies. Upon impact, a massive void explosion erupts, erasing everything it touches and sending it to the void. Requirement: At least one void-related sub-talent.]

"Damn," Leon muttered, genuinely impressed by the collection of skills.

All these skills seemed extremely useful, each one offering a unique advantage in combat. But while doing that, Leon also remembered the only other skill book he had that he never used, one that had been sitting in his storage for a long time.

[Warrior Roar (Epic): Roar loudly to boost the strength of your companions. Requirement: Have a party.]

’Well, this one is mostly just filler, but it could be useful,’ he thought, considering its potential.

Either way, Leon focused on the skills that actually were good, the ones that would make a real difference in the battles ahead.

"Here," he said, handing the books to the girls.

He gave the [Flame Boost (Ancient)] skill book to Celeste, and the [Sub-Zero Zone (Ancient)] one to Violet as they both worked perfectly with their abilities, enhancing their elemental strengths.

"Thanks~" Violet beamed as she learned the skill, the knowledge flowing into her mind.

"Wow...!" Celeste gasped as she saw the description, feeling her flames get stronger as she learned the skill as well, the power surging through her body.

With that, both Violet and Celeste’s combat power remained the same, but their fighting capabilities had tremendously increased, their elemental attacks now far more devastating.

"If I can get another Ember to double my stats... I’m pretty sure I’ll be ready for the Eternal Battlefield," Celeste mumbled with a grin, her eyes gleaming with determination.

"I simply need to evolve my skills and I’ll be ready as well," Violet nodded, her voice calm and confident.

Then they both turned toward Emilia, who was still sitting on the ground, petting Alphox and Pyra, while the sub-talent scroll that Leon had given them still lay before her untouched.

Meanwhile, the vortex still burst with more and more aura as something was preparing to happen, the energy building to a crescendo.

Ding!

[Three minutes until the last wave.]

Emilia’s headache seemed to increase as time went on, clutching her head as much as she could, her face pale and her body trembling.

’Damn it,’ Leon thought, his heart racing, ’I need to be quicker.’

He grabbed the three other skills from the kings and learned all three of them, feeling like they could be useful in the future, their knowledge integrating with his own.

Ding!

[You have acquired the skill: "Venom Nova (Legendary)"]

[You have acquired the skill: "Abyss Teleportation (Ancient)"]

[You have acquired the skill: "Void Detonation (Divine)"]

For a normal player, obtaining three such skills in an hour was quite literally impossible, a feat that would take years to accomplish.

For the average player, they would only obtain around 1 skill every year or so if they were lucky, making Leon’s progress truly extraordinary.

Violet and Celeste were perfect examples: without Leon to aid them, even though they were strong, they wouldn’t have been able to grow as strong as they had.

At that moment, Leon wanted to use the [Max-Level Skill Book (Ascendant)] that he obtained from the Imperial Kingdom but he hesitated, considering the best use for it.

[Max-Level Skill Book (Ascendant): Allows you to evolve a skill of ascendant-rank or below to level 10 instantly.]

’None of these skills are ascendant-rank, and Void Detonation is too high-ranked, it would be a waste,’ he reasoned, deciding to wait for a better opportunity.

He decided to place the item in his storage space once more for later, saving it for when he acquired a skill that truly deserved the upgrade.

Ding!

[Two minutes until the last wave.]

And finally, Leon only had one more set of items to use: the essences.

He hadn’t immediately used them because of their description, as they all stated they could boost abilities.

Because of that, he wanted to make sure everything he had was at max before using them, maximizing their effectiveness.

[Serpent King Essence: Consuming will increase Agility by 25,000 and Constitution by 20,000, as well as possibly boost poison-related skills and sub-talents.]

[x2 Ice and Flame King Essence: Consuming will increase Spirit by 50,000, as well as boost Ice and Flame-related abilities.]

[Void King Essence: Consuming this doesn’t seem to be the greatest of ideas unless you have a deep link to the Void. Trying without it will result in death.]

Before consuming each of the essences though, he handed the Ice and Flame King one to Violet, as he knew it could be useful for her, since she used both ice and flames in her combat style.

"Thanks," Violet nodded, grabbing it with one hand while using the other one to help Emilia, her expression grateful.

Just like that, Leon stared at the three essences in his hands then without waiting... he consumed them, feeling their power surge through his body.
