Chapter 490: Fighting The Teachers, Dominik is Here

"SHIT," Leoric shouted as he saw Alikar’s body fall to the ground in a single attack, "But how?!"

Alikar had been boosted by the God of War, and though the blessing was decent at best compared to those given to the most trusted servants, Alikar’s strength and constitution should have allowed him to put up a fight or at the very least survive such an attack long enough for someone to help him.

And yet, he was instantly killed by this human without even getting a chance to properly react.

As he gazed into Leon’s eyes, Leoric realized that this human was not playing around at all, and that the confidence he carried himself with was not arrogance but simply the truth of someone who knew exactly how strong he was.

Leon then immediately summoned the power of his Shadow Bullets and pointed forward as they rained down on the three teachers without any warning.

Lotus was the only one to act fast enough, lifting her staff to create a powerful barrier around herself and the others.

BAM! BAM! BAM!

But once all the shadow bullets hit, the barrier was already on the verge of breaking apart, cracks spreading across its surface like spider webs.

Lotus realized that even against her, Leon’s magic was extremely powerful, matching her own and perhaps even surpassing it in certain aspects she hadn’t expected from someone who looked so... weak.

At the same time, Domi prepared to unleash a powerful attack at Leon, yet right as he swung his staff...

Crack!

Ice surrounded his position, and Leon turned around to notice Violet marching forward with a cold expression on her face.

"We’ll help," Violet nodded before dashing toward Domi.

Emilia and Celeste faced Lotus as well, leaving Leon to fight with Leoric alone.

Leon had absolutely no worry that the girls could manage their battles, they were far too strong after all, and their teamwork made them even more dangerous than their individual strength suggested.

And at the same time...

Sub-Zero Zone!

Violet used the new skill she had acquired during the Monster Tide, the entire area around Domi, Leoric and Lotus becoming frozen and hard to see as the temperature plummeted to something that would kill an ordinary person instantly.

[Sub-Zero Zone (Ancient): Create a 1000x1000x1000 meters zone where all of your ice-related abilities skyrocket in power. Makes it hard for the opponent to see inside or even focus.]

"H-Haha," Domi laughed as he freed himself from the ice, "Y-You only have 11 million Combat Power, I have almost twice that, and you believe you can win?!"

That was true, the girls were still relatively weak in terms of Combat Power, but when it came to everything else... they were far superior in ways that raw numbers couldn’t measure.

’Well, I just need to give them enough monster essences that’s all,’ Leon shrugged, ’Making each of them reach at least 15 or 20 million Combat Power would be ideal.’

While they were busy fighting Domi and Lotus, Leon focused back on Leoric.

"Fool, Dominik is watching and will appear soon," the teacher laughed to himself, "You stand no chance!"

"Sure," Leon smiled.

"One hit from me would be enough to shatter you apart too," Leoric roared, angered by Leon’s dismissal, "I-I am one of the God of War’s trusty servants, he will not let us die in vain, his vengeance will be grand!"

Hearing that, Leon couldn’t help but laugh, because the fact they believed that the gods actually cared about them was quite hilarious to someone who knew the truth about how the gods treated their followers.

"Wow, you’re really stupid," he shook his head, "But if you want to prove yourself so much, then hit me."

"DIE!"

Leoric focused the entirety of his power in his legs and dashed forward, swinging his blade at Leon’s chest with everything he had.

At that moment, Leon could have done a million things to kill Leoric quickly, but instead, he simply stood there and took the hit, wanting to prove a point that words alone couldn’t.

SLASH!

Leoric’s blade slashed at his armor with the full strength of the blessing given to him by the God of War!

He smiled as he felt the attack connect, then backed away to observe what he had done... only for the human to simply stand there without a single change in his expression.

"What?"

In fact, his armor had literally nothing but a small scratch on it from the attack, barely even visible unless someone was looking for it.

"Wow, the Soul Armor really is strong," Leon nodded, "Try again."

"DON’T UNDERESTIMATE ME!"

Leoric attacked again and again, slashing at Leon’s armor hundreds of times in the span of a few seconds, each strike carrying the full weight of his divine blessing behind it.

But his eyes widened as he realized: he was not doing any damage.

Leon was simply staring at him directly without moving, not even bothering to block or dodge because there was simply no need to.

In fact, most of the scratches he put on the armor began to disappear, as if the armor was healing itself faster than Leoric could damage it.

"Looks like the God of War didn’t give you enough strength," Leon lifted his sword, "Too bad."

SLASH!

He cut him in half before he could react, ending the fight in a single motion.

’Three more to go.’

Leon stared at Violet, Celeste and Emilia, but they seemed to still be fighting their opponents, so he simply watched to see how they were doing.

Domi and Violet seemed to be on equal strength, because although the former had almost twice the Combat Power as the latter, she still managed to dodge all of his attacks, and the Sub-Zero Zone made it harder for him to aim properly.

As for Celeste and Emilia, Lotus was the strongest of the five teachers, so she still could fight them fairly despite everything.

Emilia’s magic far surpassed Lotus’, but the latter’s experience and technique allowed her to stand her ground against someone who was clearly stronger than her in raw power.

But she also needed to avoid Celeste’s attacks, which were much weaker, but with the fact that if she hit her even once, her soul would be hit and it would be game over for Lotus immediately.

At that moment, Leon seemed to have had enough, and he immediately got ready to use a skill to end this battle once and for all.

Leon lifted his staff and got ready to use his new divine skill: [Soul Chains] .

But right as he was about to do that...

"We shouldn’t intervene in battles that have already started, should we now?"

Leon heard a voice, and a massive smoke screen appeared out of nowhere.

Fwoosh!

Leon quickly teleported to the Abyss Rift he had set up near the entrance of the room, readying himself for whatever was about to come out of that smoke.

And from the screen, the ultimate target appeared: Dominik himself.

But the moment Leon looked at him, he instantly understood that something was wrong.

Because right now, Dominik seemed stronger than he had ever been before, aura crackling across his body in a way that made the air itself feel heavy.

"I have been blessed by the two gods," Dominik said calmly as he landed on the ground, attracting everybody’s attention, "So unfortunately, it’s the end of the line for you, Celestial."
