Chapter 547: Tearing Through The Followers

  • Next Chapter

Leon’s sword flashed through the air, cutting down the native before he could finish speaking.

The man collapsed without even understanding what had happened, while Leon looked down at his corpse with an expression completely devoid of mercy.

He then turned toward the girls.

"He gave us the information we needed. Just kill everyone wearing a robe with one of those symbols. We’ll destroy everything."

The sudden death shocked everyone in the square.

The natives and players belonging to the three factions stared at Leon in disbelief, unable to understand why someone would suddenly kill a person who had been welcoming them so warmly.

Even the players who had followed Leon through the [Abyssal Tide Caverns] were stunned.

They had witnessed his overwhelming strength inside the dungeon, but they hadn’t expected him to attack the natives without warning.

The three factions might not have agreed on everything, and they often competed against each other to recruit the strongest players, but that didn’t mean they would tolerate someone murdering one of their members in front of them.

Their shock quickly turned into anger.

"How dare you?!"

"Kill them!"

"Don’t let those bastards escape!"

Hundreds of players and natives rushed toward Leon and the girls, their weapons raised as they prepared to attack.

Their levels ranged from 95 to 100, meaning they were still powerful by almost any standard. However, their strength meant nothing against the four people standing before them.

Divine Wrath!

BOOM!

Emilia raised her scepter and unleashed a massive beam of divine energy, sweeping it across the advancing enemies.

The attack struck the entire group, completely disintegrating those caught in its path.

The ground shook beneath the impact, and the square was instantly filled with the aftermath of the devastating attack.

Only a few enemies remained, and they quickly realized that the newcomers were far more dangerous than they had expected.

Their expressions changed as they understood that these four people might pose a threat to the entire kingdom.

Several of them immediately raised their hands and activated communication panels, informing their respective factions about the attack.

However, Violet moved before they could escape.

A wave of ice spread through the square, freezing the remaining enemies in place.

Leon glanced toward the players who had arrived through the dungeon.

"Just stay back," he said. "As long as you don’t do anything stupid, you’ll be fine."

The players exchanged uneasy looks but didn’t dare argue.

Leon then turned toward the girls.

"As I said, kill anyone wearing a robe with one of those symbols. Even if we don’t manage to eliminate every follower, we only need to destroy those three buildings and everyone inside them."

He pointed toward the enormous faction structures in the distance.

"Once they’re gone, only the [Heretic Village] will remain."

Leon had already dealt with countless servants of the gods throughout the Higher Domains, and if he succeeded here, he would have practically cleansed an entire domain of their followers in less than a day.

This was a feat even he didn’t expect, and did actually make him wonder if he could do that for every Higher Domain.

But at that moment, a massive announcement suddenly rang throughout the kingdom.

Ding!

[To all factions, a major threat to this entire island has appeared near the entrance. Please dispatch all followers and eliminate them swiftly!]

[Four individuals: a human, elf, phoenix, and dragon.]

Leon read the announcement and smiled.

"Sweet. They’re coming to us. We just need to head toward those buildings now."

The group began moving through the kingdom, following the wide streets toward the three faction buildings.

The city was filled with elegant stone structures, towering houses, and ornate plazas, with colorful banners hanging between rooftops.

Shops and stalls lined the roads, while bridges crossed narrow waterways that ran through several districts.

Despite its peaceful appearance, the kingdom was now filled with alarm, and the sound of hurried footsteps and shouted warnings echoed through its streets.

As Leon and the girls advanced, players and natives wearing faction robes began rushing toward them from every direction.

Some carried swords and spears, while others prepared ranged skills, determined to stop the intruders before they could reach the faction headquarters.

However, none of them managed to get close.

Leon didn’t even need to summon his skeletons or use any particularly powerful skills.

His sword alone was enough to cut down anyone who approached, while his [Shadow Bullets] repeatedly struck those who attempted to attack from a distance.

Celeste and Violet dealt with the enemies who tried to surround them, and Emilia’s attacks cleared entire groups whenever they gathered too closely.

The kingdom’s defenders continued arriving, but their numbers made little difference.

"My [Slaughter Meter] increased by around 40," Leon said with grunt.

Leon’s [Storage Space] was already completely full by this point though, so every time his talent activated, the items simply dropped on the ground.

And no matter how many followers rushed toward them, the four newcomers remained completely unharmed.

But the announcements continued.

[The follower who manages to kill them will be greatly blessed by their god!]

The message appeared repeatedly, encouraging the factions to keep fighting even when their members began losing hope.

Every time the defenders hesitated or attempted to retreat, the promise of divine blessings motivated them to attack once more.

Leon couldn’t help but find the situation amusing.

These promises only encouraged more people to throw themselves into a battle they had no chance of winning.

...

Meanwhile...

Inside one of the faction buildings, a massive meeting room suddenly filled with light as three figures teleported into existence.

The room was decorated with golden pillars, polished marble floors, and enormous windows overlooking the city.

A large circular table stood at its center, surrounded by several chairs carved from precious materials.

The symbols of the three gods were displayed prominently across the walls, making it clear that this was a place reserved for the kingdom’s most powerful leaders.

The first figure was Veyron Soulcrest, leader of the God of Souls’ faction.

He was a tall, pale-skinned man with long silver hair and deep crimson eyes, wearing a black robe embroidered with a glowing heart.

His expression was cold and composed, while a faint aura of spiritual energy surrounded his body.

The second was Seraphina Dawnveil, leader of the God of Light’s faction.

She possessed golden hair that fell past her shoulders, bright eyes resembling sunlight, and an elegant white robe decorated with golden patterns.

The third was Thalor Deepcrest, leader of the God of the Sea’s faction.

He was an enormous man with blue skin, silver scales along his arms, and dark hair resembling flowing waves.

All three were powerful individuals, and each had received a significant blessing from their respective god.

They were the leaders of the three factions.
