Chapter 1842: Chapter 834: So Strange
Jiang Yong fell asleep in one second, and after he finished the phone call, he shot back into the game and jolted awake.
When he noticed chaos breaking out in Bo Mansion, he immediately realized: this was it, the moment for the cannon fodder he’d summoned to finally earn their keep!
So right away, Jiang Yong logged off and called those cannon fodder. No one picked up, but that was the signal to start.
So after finishing the calls, Jiang Yong went straight back into the game.
But as soon as he returned to the game, shouting that it was time to run, he realized the room was already empty.
"Fuck! I haven’t even gotten on the ride yet!"
Jiang Yong rushed outside, only to find that Suo Ru and Qian Wu had long vanished without a Shadow in sight. Only the Qian Family’s pampered daughter, who like him wasn’t strong at all, was still barely visible, her silhouette trailing behind because she ran slower.
How is that okay!
Luckily for him, because Qian Wu had to take care of this little sister who was dragging them down, he hadn’t run that far. And although Suo Ru was the strongest personally, having a capable helper while escaping was obviously better, so he was also keeping an eye on Qian Wu’s position.
So although the three of them were a bit spread out, the actual distance wasn’t as far as it looked. If anything happened, they could react at once.
"Out of the way!"
Qian Wu smashed his fist into the Bo family disciple blocking the road ahead. Bo Mansion was a complete mess inside right now, they had absolutely no time to bother with a few outsiders like them.
"Keep up!"
He barked coldly at Qin Er. At this moment, he really didn’t want to deal with this sister who was dragging them down, but if she really died in Bo Mansion, it’d be hard for him to keep living in the Qian Family.
He glanced at Suo Ru waiting up ahead, the stern look thrown in their direction, and forced himself to stay calm. He strode back a few steps, grabbed Qin Er, and tucked her under his arm.
"Guys! Don’t forget about me!"
Jiang Yong shouted anxiously, but nobody paid him any attention.
The two figures vanished from Jiang Yong’s sight in a flash, leaving him practically on the verge of tears.
My money, my pay hasn’t even been settled yet!
But Jiang Yong also understood: only if he escaped alive would he have the right to ask those two masters for money. Otherwise, forget it.
Of course, he could also come back after dying with a different identity and ask for it using a token as proof. But whether they’d admit it or not was another matter entirely.
Watching Suo Ru and the others getting farther and farther away, Jiang Yong’s heart sank. Continuing to follow behind them might not be safe, but randomly picking a path to flee on his own might be even more dangerous.
After hesitating for a second, Jiang Yong grit his teeth and sprinted after the exhaust trail they left behind.
But unexpectedly, after a short while, Jiang Yong caught sight of Suo Ru and the others again.
Because Suo Ru and the rest were now completely surrounded by a group of people, and two of them were even slowly rising off the ground.
"Believers!"
Suo Ru’s face darkened.
Beside him, Qian Wu was already completely panicked.
People from the Capital were well-informed; they’d seen plenty. The strength of Believers exceeded that of ordinary Martial Artists of the same level by a solid margin.
Cross-realm challenges were common for them.
For two of these beings to show up at once—if they were weak, fine, but if they were the least bit strong, the few of them might be leaving their lives here today.
But what baffled them was...
"Gentlemen, we don’t seem to have any grudges between us, right? We were imprisoned here by the Bo family; we’re at odds with them just like you. You know, the enemy of my enemy is..."
Swish—
They struck.
It was one of the Believers’ lackeys who made the first move.
Although Qian Wu sidestepped and dodged, once you tug one thread, the entire web moves: the rest of the lackeys all charged in as well.
In an instant, Qian Wu was hard-pressed to fight four hands with two fists, and could only hurl his sister forcefully in Jiang Yong’s direction.
"Get my little sister out of the Bo family!"
As soon as he finished shouting, two punches landed squarely on Qian Wu’s face. He immediately struck out with his palm and sent the attackers flying, but then two sword-lights slashed toward him, forcing him to retreat half a step to avoid their edge.
Qian Wu was suppressed on the spot, retreating again and again, barely managing to block.
His injuries were already not healed, and with this ordeal piled on, Qian Wu suddenly had the feeling that he might die here. A wave of sorrow rushed up inside him.
He’d managed to survive the massive battle at Absolute Sect by sheer luck, only to now face a bunch of nobodies and maybe die miserably in their hands.
He pinned his last hope on his temporary ally Suo Ru. When his gaze swept over, Qian Wu instantly fell into despair.
He saw Suo Ru being attacked from front and back by the two Believers, barely able to fight back at all. And for some reason, Qian Wu noticed that when facing those two Believers, Suo Ru seemed... scared, like he couldn’t fight freely.
He’s a Wood Realm Expert at least; how can he be getting thrashed this badly?
Just as Qian Wu was still racking his brain over how to coordinate with Suo Ru and find a way out...
Buzz!!
Suddenly, a sword-light flashed, and Suo Ru’s arm was actually sliced clean off.
Blood spurted out, and Qian Wu froze on the spot.
This is bad!
If Suo Ru can’t hold on and those two Believers free up their hands, how the hell am I supposed to fight them??
Qian Wu was in full panic mode now. He didn’t even bother with the incoming attacks around him; his brain lagged for half a second.
But right at that moment, at the instant his arm was severed, Suo Ru’s eyes changed.
It was the look of someone in a desperate situation, ready to go all in.
"Open!"
Qian Ru suddenly roared.
But open what? Qian Wu didn’t understand.
And in the very next instant...
Bang!!
Blood Mist erupted.
Centered on Suo Ru, the rolling Blood Mist spread out, enveloping everyone around!
"It’s an escape trump card!"
Qian Wu shouted excitedly, thinking this was some kind of ace-in-the-hole ultimate move of Suo Ru’s.
