Chapter 280: 280: Naming

"Did I just hear things...?" Lord Ash asked, staring down at the little black cub. "Did I just...?"

Ayra smiled as she said, "I also heard it..." She stared closely at the little one. "What did you say...? Talk to me..."

She watched the black pup, who lay quietly in her arms, staring back at her. Everyone fell silent, their attention focused on the little black wolf cub as they waited for him to speak again.

But he didn’t. He simply lay there, staring at Ayra as though he were investigating her. A minute passed in silence, yet he still didn’t utter another word.

Lord Ash sighed. "Maybe we were hearing things..."

But before he could finish his statement, they heard another sound.

"Mama... Mama!"

Immediately, everyone turned their attention to the female cub in Ayra’s arms. The silver wolf cub, already in her human form, was smiling and giggling as though she had just said something, all while moving around playfully against Ayra.

This left everyone speechless once again.

"Did I just hear things...?" Lord Ash asked, looking around in disbelief.

"I also... heard it..." Commander Lynn admitted, equally stunned.

Ayra turned to the little girl and smiled. "What did you say, honey? Do you want to talk to us?" she asked gently.

But the female cub simply stared up at her with a smile, giggling as she managed to babble, "Yayayaya..."

She then continued playing as though nothing had happened.

Ayra and the others could only smile and shake their heads.

"They’re either too shy to speak or just messing with us. These little ones..." Lord Vale folded his arms with an amused smile.

Ayra sighed softly, smiling as she looked at the cubs. "I guess we’ll have to wait until we catch them speaking properly," she said with a laugh.

"So, what are we going to name them?" Ally asked, leaning closer curiously. "I want to start calling them by their names!"

Ayra smiled as she looked down at the little ones. "Hmm, that’s true." She turned to Commander Lynn. "So, what are we going to name them?"

Commander Lynn remained silent for a moment, tilting his head as he thought. He scratched his ear before finally speaking. "I’m really slow at these things, so I don’t know yet..."

Ayra smiled at the cubs. "Let’s think of something together..."

"Yes, you two think of something. We’ll be right here waiting," Lord Ash said with a smile.

The others folded their arms and stood around the bed, waiting for the pair to come up with suitable names.

Commander Lynn thought for a while, tilting his head before finally speaking. "What about naming him Kel...?"

He hesitated, glancing at Ayra, who was smiling at him.

"Kellie would make a cute name..." she suggested.

Commander Lynn smiled back and nodded. "Kel... Kellie... That would work."

Ayra smiled as she looked down at the little girl, who was still playing around beside her.

"Then, for this little one here..."

"Min..." Commander Lynn offered.

"Minnie!" Ayra exclaimed with a smile.

The two of them burst into laughter.

"I like that," Commander Lynn said, smiling as he rubbed the back of his neck. "It works for me."

Ayra nodded in agreement. "Me too. I like it."

She looked affectionately at the two little ones and smiled. "Kellie and Minnie... Our little angels."

Ally beamed as she stared at them. "Such pretty names! I love them so much! Our Kellie and Minnie! Welcome to our tribe! I’ll take such good care of you two!"

Zay nodded enthusiastically. "I also like the name Mama."

Everyone burst into laughter at his innocent remark.

Ayra smiled as she watched the little ones playing happily in her arms. "And that’s it. Those are officially your names. Welcome to the world, little ones."

She gently played with Minnie’s tiny fingers before adding, "Thank you for letting me be your mother... I’ll be very kind to you."

The others stood around watching the warm scene, unable to hide their smiles. Even Lord Zark, who usually appeared more reserved, couldn’t help smiling at the sight.

After having breakfast, Ayra breastfed the little cubs, who soon drifted off to sleep. Once she had finished taking care of them, she and her mates gathered at the meeting hall for something important.

"You should get some rest if you need it," Commander Lynn said, looking at her with concern. "You don’t have to attend the meeting..."

Ayra smiled reassuringly. "Don’t worry, I’m already recovered. And I certainly want to be part of this meeting."

Lord Vale folded his arms as he looked at Commander Lynn. "You don’t have to be so protective. The female is quite strong right now."

He smiled before adding, "As a matter of fact, I can even feel a shift in the female’s energy..."

Everyone paused and turned their attention to Ayra. They slowly sniffed the air, sensing the subtle changes surrounding her. It was becoming increasingly clear that something about the female had changed.

Lord Ash leaned forward, examining Ayra more closely as he scratched his head.

"And here I thought you couldn’t get any prettier than you already were, but the female is literally glowing right now!"

He tilted his head, studying her face with growing amazement. "Your skin has become even more flawless... That hair, those eyes... How are you getting prettier by the day?"

He then turned to Nyx. "You noticed it too, right?"

Nyx could barely look directly at Ayra. He had noticed the change that morning when he first saw her and realized just how much more beautiful she had become.

Now, he was too shy to stare at her for long.

"It’s just... okay..." he muttered casually, but his flushed cheeks betrayed him.

Lord Ash shook his head in amusement. "Tsk, tsk, tsk. You really can’t lie, you cold cat."

Ayra smiled and shook her head at their conversation, amused by their reactions.

Lord Zark sighed before speaking up. "Silly. That’s not the point. Didn’t you notice that her energy isn’t at C-rank anymore?"

His words immediately caught everyone’s attention.

They turned towards Ayra again, this time examining her more closely as they sniffed the air. The moment they sensed the change in her energy, their expressions shifted.

"Oh..." Lord Ash exclaimed. "It’s true! She’s no longer a C-rank female..."

"And not even a B-rank..." Lord Vale observed, his expression growing more serious.

"She’s a..." Nyx murmured, tilting his head as he stared at Ayra in astonishment.
