Only I am Venerable
Chapter 450 - 446: No Reasoning, Just Kill
All the buildings had an antique, classical feel. As sunlight shone upon them, a hazy mist rose, imbuing the entire area with a sense of ancient charm.
All kinds of trees and flowers were planted in the spaces between the buildings. With the fragrance of flowers and the songs of birds, the atmosphere was utterly serene.
Qin Li couldn’t help but sigh to himself. ’It truly takes all kinds,’ he thought. ’A place this poetic and picturesque, yet it failed to nurture simple, good-hearted people close to nature. Instead, it bred a nest of human trash—men who practice Absorbing Yin to Nourish Yang, and women who practice Yang Absorption and Yin Compensation.’
This beautiful scenery, therefore, felt like a profound irony.
Qin Li’s form drifted through the air like a wisp of smoke as he followed the young man in white martial attire. No one was able to detect his presence.
"The Young Master has returned!" two beautiful maids cooed, their voices soft and delicate. They stood before a magnificent, ornate building, watching the young man in white martial attire.
"Mm. And my father?" The young man in white stared straight ahead, ignoring the two delicate, charming women. An unknowing observer might have mistaken him for a perfect gentleman. In truth, he didn’t dare entertain a single thought about them, because both girls were his father’s private possessions—the personal playthings of the Palace Master of the Paradise Divine Palace!
"The Palace Master is in the study, reading," one of the girls, who had bright eyes and pearly teeth, replied with a small smile. She then gave the young man in white a subtle wink.
The young man in white understood. It meant his father was in a good mood. He flashed the girl a charming smile. Even though he didn’t dare touch his father’s private playthings, this silent, unspoken rapport still gave him a satisfying thrill. ’And why wouldn’t it? The women at the side of the Palace Master of the Paradise Divine Palace were second to none.’
When he reached the door, the young man knocked gently and said respectfully, "Father, your son has returned. May I come in?"
An imposing voice replied from within, "Come in."
His attitude one of utmost respect, the young man gently pushed the door open. He saw his father sitting behind a massive desk, leaning back in a soft, fur-lined chair with an expression of pure pleasure. A strange sound was coming from the other side of the desk... from beneath his father.
The young man, however, seemed accustomed to this scene. He stood at the door with his gaze fixed straight ahead and said respectfully, "Reporting to Father, all is well in the Celestial Lake Kingdom. There are no abnormalities."
"Mmm..."
The refined-looking middle-aged man on the chair, who appeared to be only in his forties, grunted faintly. Then he said, "Recently, many Martial Artists from the Land of the Far West have rushed to the East, hoping to uncover the secrets of the Ancient Divine Temple. So, you must keep a low profile. Don’t think you can provoke people from the Land of the Far West just because our Paradise Divine Palace has a bit of power. Their resources and heritage are beyond your imagination!"
He raised an eyebrow as he spoke, glancing at the young man. "Bo’Er, did you hear me?"
The young man bowed quickly. "Your son has taken it to heart!"
"Mm. Is there anything else?" The middle-aged man’s brow suddenly twitched. His body gave a slight shudder, and a strange expression crossed his face. It wasn’t anger; it looked more like intense pleasure. After a long moment, he finally let out a deep sigh.
At that moment, a beautiful young woman rose from beneath him, her lips pressed tightly together. She flashed the young man a dazzling smile before walking past him and out of the room.
The young man in white, Bo’Er, never dared to raise his head to even glance at the woman.
Only after she left did he look at his old man with a hint of envy and say, "Congratulations, Father. Your Paradise Divine Skill has improved again!"
The middle-aged man offered an approving smile. "Everything I have will be yours sooner or later. This position will one day be yours as well. But for now, you must remember not to overindulge. Yes, we use Absorption, but the power gained from it is impure. Once your strength reaches the Shattered Void realm, you’ll discover that impure power is a fatal weakness! I was just like you in my youth, practicing Absorption everywhere and ignoring the advice of my elders. As a result, I now have to use these Top-Grade Tripod Furnaces every day to siphon off some Essence. I estimate it will take at least another hundred years to completely refine all my power into its purest form. Only then can I break through to the Pill Nascent Soul Transformation realm. At that level, no one will be my match!"
The young man named Bo’Er seemed moved by his father’s heart-to-heart advice, but he still didn’t reveal his plans. He was convinced that those women were countless times more potent than even the finest Top-Grade Tripod Furnaces in the entire Paradise Divine Palace!
If he absorbed the Yin Power of those women, he could very well leap from his current Human Venerable level and become a Martial Artist in the Shattered Void realm!
He would become an expert on par with his father!
And since he was still so young, it was entirely possible that he could surpass his father and become the most powerful Palace Master in the history of the Paradise Divine Palace!
So, he simply told his father what he wanted to hear, flattering him for a while. They made small talk for a bit longer, and by then, he figured his men should have finished collecting the Soul-Capturing Flowers. He bowed to his father. "Please continue your cultivation, Father. Your son will take his leave and won’t disturb you further."
The middle-aged man nodded. "Xiaobo, remember my words. Cultivation is the most important thing right now. Do not be hasty when it comes to Absorption. And another thing—you absolutely must not provoke those people from the Land of the Far West!"
The young man puffed out his chest and declared, "Rest assured, Father. Your son knows his limits!"
The middle-aged man nodded in satisfaction. This son of his had been clever since he was a child, but most importantly, he was sensible and obedient. He knew when to advance and when to retreat. That was why he planned to pass on the position of Palace Master of the Paradise Divine Palace to him when the time was right.
Not long after the young man left, three more women with seductive figures entered from outside. They all gave the middle-aged man coquettish smiles upon seeing him. As they drew near, it became clear they were all dressed in gauze so sheer it was completely transparent.
Their crucial parts were faintly visible, making them even more tantalizing than if they were naked. Moreover, their smiles were wanton to the bone and their voices were languid and decadent, enough to make a man’s blood boil.
The three women took turns coupling with the middle-aged man. His stamina was such that countless men would have gasped in admiration and burned with envy. In over two hours, he had not once finished.
From the roof of the room, Qin Li watched with cold eyes. He observed as the middle-aged man grew ever more excited, ever more wild, ravaging the three women to the point of blissful exhaustion, leaving them without the strength to even cry out. At the peak of it all, the man let out a low roar, his face a mask of both savage ferocity and supreme satisfaction.
A stream of cold, fluid purple Sword Qi, shimmering with magnificent, dazzling light, split the huge, luxurious room down the middle, cleaving it in two as easily as slicing through a melon!
The middle-aged man—the Palace Master of the Paradise Divine Palace—at that very moment of ultimate climax... was split in half by Qin Li’s sword!
With perfect precision, not one of the three women was killed by Qin Li’s strike. They didn’t even suffer a scratch.
’They’re just pitiful Tripod Furnaces,’ Qin Li thought. ’Even if they’ve done wrong, it couldn’t have been any great evil. They’re just a group of wretched people. There’s no point in killing them.’
It all happened in the blink of an eye. The three women’s pupils dilated in shock, but they didn’t even have time to scream before fainting dead away from the terror.
Outside, however, the guards of the Paradise Divine Palace flew into a frenzy. The Palace Master’s room had been cleaved in two by a sword, and there was no sign of life from within. His fate was unknown. If something had truly happened to him, their own lives would be forfeit!
After all, the most powerful figures in the Paradise Divine Palace were not the Palace Master, but those ancient monsters who had lived for hundreds, if not thousands, of years—the Supreme Elders!
"Catch the assassin!" someone shouted as they charged toward Qin Li.
A bone-chilling smile touched the corners of Qin Li’s mouth. ’If I hadn’t wanted them to scream, they’d already be dead,’ he thought. His objective was to slaughter every single powerful person in the Paradise Divine Palace, from top to bottom!
’In a Sect like this, there’s no difference between the top and the bottom. They’re all scum. Wiping them out completely is the best course of action!’
Once the guards finished shouting, a flash of aura from Qin Li’s Blood-Drinking Sword shot out. A thin red line appeared on each guard’s throat. Their bodies, carried by momentum, continued to charge forward before collapsing in a heap before him. THUD. THUD. THUD. Blood sprayed wildly from their necks, rapidly staining the ground crimson.
Just then, intense ripples of power emanated from all directions. Figures rode these waves of energy, materializing one by one to surround Qin Li completely.
"Who are you?" an old man with white hair but the face of a youth demanded, his eyes blazing with fury as he glared at Qin Li. "How dare you come to our Paradise Divine Palace and run wild?"
"Qin Li," he answered, his expression utterly cold. A potent killing intent radiated from him, pressing down on everyone who surrounded him.
’I’m doing this on purpose. I don’t want to give this scum a quick death. I want them to die in absolute terror! Otherwise, wouldn’t I be letting them off too easy?’
HISS!
Several of the newcomers immediately drew a sharp breath. They were very familiar with that name!
"Qin Li?" The old man with the white hair and youthful face frowned, as if he had never heard the name before.
Just then, someone beside him shouted, "Supreme Elder, he’s the Qin Li who annihilated the disciples we sent to the Cyan Dragon Kingdom! The message, written in blood, that our disciple sent back before he died stated that our branch sect, the Paradise Celestial Palace, was destroyed by his hand!"
"What? You dare to kill disciples of my Paradise Divine Palace?" the white-haired, youthful-faced old man roared in fury.
"Is there anything I don’t dare to do?" Qin Li sneered. "I came here today to slaughter every last one of you!"
"You’re courting death! Kill him!"
The old man roared, and with a wave of his hand, more than a dozen people charged toward Qin Li. Judging by the fluctuations of Primordial Power they emitted, all of them were at least at the Venerable level.
’No wonder that Young Master of the Paradise Divine Palace, Xiaobo, was so confident,’ Qin Li mused. ’But... overconfidence is merely a sign of ignorance.’
Qin Li brandished his Blood-Drinking Sword. A purple light flared, and the sky filled with blood!
