SWISH!

The next moment, every eye in the consultation room snapped to Yang Xun.

The bodyguards in black suits stared grimly at the young man who had suddenly spoken, their eyes filled with scrutiny.

Elder Huang, in particular, slowly turned his head to look at Yang Xun, his eyes filled with a cold glare.

In all his decades of practicing medicine, this was the first time he had been publicly contradicted. And to make matters worse, the one contradicting him was some wet-behind-the-ears kid in his twenties!

Elder Huang was furious, but since Yang Xun had come in with Murong Wei, he didn’t cause a scene. He simply shot Yang Xun a cold glance and said nothing.

"Xiaoxun!" As if clutching at a lifeline, Murong Wei hurried over to Yang Xun. With a look of desperation, she asked, "You said he can be saved? Really? Are you sure?"

Yang Xun nodded firmly. "Teacher," he said with conviction, "Grandpa Zhou isn’t in any real danger. His current symptoms are just a facade. The true root of his illness isn’t organ failure, and it can be treated quite easily."

The moment he said that, the atmosphere in the room instantly grew awkward.

Everyone’s eyes involuntarily shifted from Yang Xun, landing all at once on Elder Huang.

After all, Elder Huang had just declared with absolute certainty that Grandpa Zhou’s organs were failing, his qi and blood were exhausted, and his meridians were broken. He had pronounced the man terminally ill and told everyone to prepare for the worst.

And now, in the blink of an eye, some young man had popped up saying Grandpa Zhou was in no real danger?

These two diametrically opposed diagnoses left everyone in the room baffled.

’Who were they supposed to believe?’

Elder Huang had already been displeased, but he hadn’t wanted to have a public falling out since Yang Xun was Murong Wei’s guest. What he never imagined, however, was that with a single sentence, Yang Xun had made everyone begin to doubt his medical expertise!

The way the bodyguards looked at him now clearly held a new layer of doubt.

For a man as venerable and respected as Elder Huang, who had practiced medicine for decades, how could he possibly endure this?

"Young man," Elder Huang finally spoke, his voice low and laced with suppressed fury. "You’re saying Mr. Zhou the Elder is fine?"

Yang Xun nodded, stating calmly, "I took a look just now. There really isn’t a major problem."

"Hmph!"

Elder Huang let out a cold snort, his gaze sharp as a blade as it fixed on Yang Xun. "What arrogance!" he said, his voice frigid. "You’ve been standing by the door ever since you arrived. You haven’t come near him to check his pulse. How could you possibly know Mr. Zhou the Elder’s condition? Are you telling me you can diagnose his illness just by glancing at him from across the room?"

Elder Huang’s words were forceful and convincing. The others present nodded in agreement, feeling he had a point.

’That’s right. In Chinese medicine, you have to observe, listen, question, and take the pulse. This kid didn’t even check his pulse, yet he dares to say the man is fine? It’s complete nonsense!’

However, facing their doubtful stares, Yang Xun remained calm. A faint smile touched his lips as he uttered four words.

"One glance is enough."

After breaking through to the Fourth Layer of the Qi Refining Realm, Yang Xun’s eyes had been tremendously enhanced. While he couldn’t see through things like with true X-ray vision, he could accurately determine a person’s physical condition by observing their complexion, facial features, and the pathways of their meridians.

Standing at the edge of the crowd just a moment ago, he had already gotten a crystal-clear picture of Grandpa Zhou’s condition.

But no one else in the room knew this. They just thought Yang Xun was spouting nonsense.

’A man in his twenties claiming he can diagnose an illness with a single glance? That’s utterly preposterous!’

A few of the bodyguards even sneered, clearly dismissing Yang Xun as a contemptible clown just trying to grab the spotlight.

"COUGH COUGH COUGH!!"

Just then, Grandpa Zhou, lying on the bed, suddenly burst into a violent coughing fit.

A moment later, a spray of fresh blood erupted from his mouth, spattering the pristine white sheets in a shocking display.

The old man’s face contorted in agony, and his entire body trembled violently. He was like a candle flickering in the wind, on the verge of being extinguished at any second.

Seeing this, Elder Huang let out a heavy sigh and slowly shook his head, his face a mask of pity.

The hearts of everyone present sank.

’Mr. Zhou the Elder coughed up blood!’

’And so violently, too!’

’How could anyone call this "not a major problem"?’

’It was obviously as serious as it could get!’

The bodyguards’ gazes on Yang Xun instantly turned icy, filled with fury and contempt.

’In their minds, Grandpa Zhou was coughing up blood, yet this young man still had the gall to say he was fine?’

’He was just spouting utter nonsense!’

"Elder Huang, is there... is there really nothing that can be done?"

Murong Wei’s voice was heavy with despair. She looked toward Elder Huang with red-rimmed eyes, making one last, desperate appeal.

Elder Huang was silent for two seconds before finally giving a slight shake of his head, saying nothing.

That single shake of his head was like a death sentence.

Murong Wei swayed, and the light in her eyes faded, bit by bit.

"Teacher, I can!"

At that moment, Yang Xun’s voice rang out again, steady and resolute.

"Xiaoxun, can you really save Grandpa Zhou?"

Murong Wei asked, looking at Yang Xun with a tense expression.

"Yes. I’ll give it a try!"

With that, Yang Xun reached his right hand into his pocket and pulled out a black leather needle pouch.

Gleaming silver needles glinted coldly under the lights, exuding a strangely calming aura.

Then, Yang Xun strode toward the bed. His gaze was firm, his steps steady. He exuded a sense of calm and confidence that completely belied his age...

"Stop!"

Just then, Elder Huang took a sudden step forward, his eyes narrowed. "Young man, Mr. Zhou the Elder is still breathing for now. But if something goes wrong under your treatment, who will bear that responsibility?"
