Chapter 168: You Are the Ones Who Should Leave

  • Next Chapter

BAM!

Yang Xun kicked the office door open. The heavy wooden door flew like a piece of cardboard, slamming hard against the wall with a deafening crash.

The scene inside made Yang Xun’s pupils shrink. The blood in his veins instantly began to boil.

There were three people in the office.

Meng Qiaofei was pinned to the sofa by a burly man, her delicate face pressed against the cushion. Her hair was a mess, her collar was pulled askew, and another man was crouching beside her, a thick rope in his hands, in the middle of tying her wrists.

Meng Qiaofei was struggling frantically, her legs kicking nonstop. But against two men built like bears, her meager strength was like an ant trying to shake a tree—completely useless.

"Let me go!! I’ll call the police on you!!"

Meng Qiaofei kept shouting threats, her voice urgent and furious, but her eyes were already red-rimmed.

The two men turned a deaf ear to her threats, their actions not pausing for a second.

"Stop right now!!"

Yang Xun roared, his voice booming like a great bell, making the entire office tremble.

All three turned their heads at the same time.

The moment Meng Qiaofei saw Yang Xun, a bright light flared in her eyes, like a drowning person spotting the shore. Her voice was warped with emotion as she cried out, "Yang Xun!! Save me!!"

But the next second, her gaze fell upon the two men, and her expression changed again.

These two were massive, each one bigger than the last. Their arms were thicker than Yang Xun’s thighs, and they radiated a savage aura. One look was enough to tell they were bad news.

"Run! Go get the police!!"

Meng Qiaofei screamed frantically at Yang Xun, her voice cracking, "You can’t beat them alone! Just go!!"

However, Yang Xun didn’t move an inch.

The man pinning Meng Qiaofei down shot his partner a look. The man with the rope immediately dropped what he was doing, stood up, and strode toward Yang Xun.

This man was at least six feet tall, with a brutish face and a green centipede tattooed on his neck. He walked with a menacing stride, each step radiating a heavy, oppressive pressure.

Yang Xun secretly sized up the approaching man, his brow furrowing slightly.

The man’s stance was steady, his center of gravity extremely low, and his feet seemed rooted to the ground. Moreover, a faint, bloody aura emanated from him.

’He’s trained. And not that Flowery Fist and Embroidered Legs kind of training, either. This is someone who’s actually seen blood.’

This made Yang Xun wonder, ’What on earth did Sister-in-law do to attract this kind of trouble?’

"Who are you?"

Yang Xun asked, his voice low.

The man walked up to Yang Xun and looked down on him, his gaze as cold as if he were looking at an ant. He spat out two words: "Leave. Now."

"You’re the ones who should leave."

Yang Xun’s tone was calm, but the killing intent in his eyes was unconcealed.

"Interesting."

The man’s lips twitched, as if he found the young man before him ridiculous.

The next moment, without another word, he threw his right fist straight at Yang Xun’s head like a sledgehammer!

The punch whistled through the air, its force terrifyingly ferocious. If it had landed on an ordinary person’s head, their skull would have shattered on the spot.

And yet, Yang Xun stood his ground, not even flinching.

BANG!!

The fist landed squarely on Yang Xun’s temple.

CRACK!!

A sharp crack of breaking bone echoed through the office.

"No!!"

Meng Qiaofei’s eyes flew wide, her face a mask of terror. The sound of breaking bone stabbed into her heart like a knife.

’Did Yang Xun’s skull just get shattered?!’

The next second, however, she witnessed a sight she would never forget for the rest of her life.

Yang Xun stood perfectly still, not moving an inch. His head hadn’t even tilted.

The man who threw the punch, on the other hand, had his face twist into a grimace. His mouth was wide open, but he couldn’t even let out a scream.

The bones in his right fist were shattered.

That cracking sound hadn’t come from Yang Xun. It came from him!

"That’s it?"

Yang Xun’s lips curved into a slight smirk as he uttered the two words.

Before the man could react, Yang Xun raised his right fist and threw a punch.

BANG!!

The punch slammed into the man’s chest like a cannonball. His body, weighing over 180 pounds, shot backward like a broken kite, crashing heavily against the desk and sending papers and teacups flying everywhere.

PFFT!!

The man lay prone on the ground, a mouthful of fresh blood spraying from his mouth and staining the floor. He struggled to lift his head, looking toward his partner who was still pinning down Meng Qiaofei. His voice was incredibly weak. "Help... help me!"

Seeing this, the other man’s face changed dramatically.

He abruptly released Meng Qiaofei and stood up. His bloodshot eyes locked onto Yang Xun as he said grimly, "You dare ruin our plans? You’re courting death!"

Before his voice had even faded, he charged at Yang Xun like an out-of-control tank, the floorboards trembling beneath his feet.

Yang Xun didn’t retreat a single step. Instead, he charged forward to meet him.

Their fists collided violently in mid-air!

BOOM!!

The man’s body flew backward as if hit by a truck, soaring three or four meters before slamming hard into the wall. The impact even left a human-shaped dent in the plasterboard.

PFFT!!

Another mouthful of blood spewed out. The man slumped to the ground, staring at Yang Xun in utter shock, his eyes filled with disbelief.

’I’ve trained for over a decade and made a name for myself in the underworld. When have I ever been sent flying by a single punch?’

’This young man... what kind of monster is he?!’

Seizing the opportunity, Meng Qiaofei scrambled up from the sofa and stumbled over to get behind Yang Xun. She gripped the corner of his shirt tightly, her whole body trembling.

But the moment she touched Yang Xun’s back, the fear in her heart melted away like ice under the blazing sun.

"Sister-in-law, who are they?"

Yang Xun glanced back at Meng Qiaofei and asked in a low voice.

Meng Qiaofei shook her head frantically, her phoenix eyes filled with confusion and grievance. "I don’t know them! I was on the phone in my office when they suddenly burst in. They came right up and asked if I was Meng Qiaofei. When I said yes, they started trying to tie me up without another word!"

She paused, her voice tinged with tears. "I haven’t offended anyone recently! I have no idea why they’re doing this!"

Yang Xun’s brow furrowed. He turned back and walked step by step toward the man leaning against the wall.

"Who are you, really? Who sent you?"

Yang Xun’s voice was like ice. With every step he took, the killing intent emanating from him grew thicker.

"Stop!!"

The man suddenly pulled something from his waistband.

The dark muzzle of a gun, pointed straight at the spot between Yang Xun’s eyes.

A pistol!

The moment he saw the gun, Yang Xun’s steps faltered slightly, and his pupils contracted.

It would be a lie to say he wasn’t nervous.

This was the first time he had ever faced a real, loaded gun.

Behind him, Meng Qiaofei was even more terrified. She froze, her face as pale as a sheet of paper, her hands clamped over her mouth, not daring to even breathe loudly.

"Take one more step and I’ll kill you!!"

The man’s hand holding the gun was trembling slightly, but the muzzle remained aimed at Yang Xun’s head as he spoke in a hoarse voice.

Yang Xun stared at the gun and was silent for two seconds.

Then, he took another step forward.

"I said stop!!"

The man’s voice instantly shot up an octave, the veins on his forehead bulging. He roared with a savage expression, "If you take another step, I’ll really shoot!!"

Yang Xun said nothing. A strange smile slowly spread across his lips as his steps never faltered. One step, then another, he closed in on the man.

He was a Cultivator.

A Fourth Layer of the Qi Refining Realm Cultivator.

Ordinary fists and feet were like a tickle to him. A bullet, on the other hand... ’I might as well see if it can even hurt me.’

"Xiaoxun! Don’t go any further!!"

Meng Qiaofei’s voice came from behind him, thick with tears and terror. She was on the verge of collapsing.

BANG!!!

A gunshot instantly shattered the silence of the office.
