Chapter 211: Devouring Gu Refining Essence Technique

Yang Xun whipped his head around to see Sun Rao collapse stiffly to the ground. Her eyes were shut tight, her face as pale as a sheet.

Her slender body writhed as whimpers of extreme agony escaped her lips, as if she were enduring some form of inhuman torture.

"Sun Rao!"

Yang Xun rushed to her side in a few quick strides and scooped her up from the ground. Her complexion was only getting worse.

Then, bizarre black lines appeared on her cheeks, spreading from her neck across her entire face like a spiderweb. It was a shocking sight.

’The Gu worm has flared up.’

Yang Xun’s heart sank.

The black mist from earlier contained a special power—it was clearly a contingency left by the Cultivator who had rescued Scarface.

The sinister energy within the black mist had activated the Gu worm in Sun Rao’s body, causing it to rampage prematurely and frantically devour her life force!

Without a moment’s hesitation, Yang Xun picked up Sun Rao and strode toward a relatively clean private room at the back of the karaoke bar. He glanced back and shouted to Zhou Yuan, "Guard the door for me! Don’t let anyone in!"

Inside the karaoke bar’s private room, the lights were dim, and the air held the lingering scent of liquor and perfume.

Yang Xun carefully laid Sun Rao on the room’s large leather sofa and locked the door behind him.

The room fell silent, leaving only the sound of Sun Rao’s increasingly labored breaths and the low whimpers of pain she couldn’t suppress.

"Don’t move. I’m going to examine you."

Yang Xun said in a low voice, then extended his right hand and placed three fingers on Sun Rao’s slender wrist.

A wisp of True Qi seeped from his fingertips, entering Sun Rao’s meridians like a Spiritual Snake to carefully probe the condition of her body.

The moment his True Qi entered her, Yang Xun’s expression changed abruptly.

The situation was far worse than he had anticipated.

The Gu worm inside Sun Rao was about three inches long and pitch-black. Its form was a grotesque mix between a centipede and a silkworm, covered in countless tiny legs, each tipped with a sharp barb.

The Gu worm was currently rampaging through her meridians, trying to burst out of her body.

If this continued, Sun Rao would die within half an hour from her meridians being shredded and her vital energy depleted.

Yang Xun’s brow furrowed as he frantically searched his mind for records on Gu worms in the Rejuvenation Medical Scripture.

A moment later, his eyes snapped open, a sharp glint flashing within them.

The Rejuvenation Medical Scripture recorded an unorthodox method called the "Devouring Gu Refining Essence Technique."

This technique used the Cultivator’s own body as a vessel to forcibly draw a Gu worm out of another person and into oneself. Then, using True Qi, the Cultivator would refine the worm and assimilate its power.

He suspected that this was the method Scarface had intended to use to become a Cultivator; he just hadn’t gotten the chance to extract the Gu worm yet.

To extract the Gu worm, Scarface would only have needed to drain Sun Rao of her blood.

But Yang Xun had to extract the Gu worm without harming Sun Rao.

The method was risky. If he made a mistake, the Gu worm could turn on its new host inside his body, and the consequences would be unimaginable.

But in this situation, it was the only way.

If he did nothing, Sun Rao would surely die.

"Don’t be afraid."

Yang Xun looked at Sun Rao’s face, now covered with black lines, and tried to keep his voice calm. "I’m going to get the Gu worm out."

Sun Rao’s consciousness was fading. She vaguely heard Yang Xun’s voice and managed a faint sound from her throat in response.

Yang Xun hesitated no longer. He took a deep breath and began circulating the Yin Yang Dragon and Phoenix Technique at maximum capacity.

A powerful surge of True Qi, like a rushing river, gushed from his Dantian, pouring down his right arm to his fingertips.

He slowly raised his hand, his index and middle fingers held together, and pointed them at Sun Rao’s Dantian from a short distance.

"Break!"

With a low shout, a wisp of pure True Qi, like an invisible Silver Needle, precisely pierced into Sun Rao’s Dantian.

Sun Rao’s entire body shuddered violently, and she let out a pained scream.

Immediately after, Yang Xun could clearly sense the black Gu worm, which had been rampaging through her meridians, slowly begin to converge on her Dantian.

Yang Xun’s True Qi acted like an invisible fishing line, slowly and carefully drawing the Gu worm out from within Sun Rao’s body.

It was an extremely mentally taxing process. Every step had to be perfectly precise; the slightest mistake would allow the Gu worm to break free and wreak havoc on Sun Rao’s body.

With his other hand, he pulled down Sun Rao’s pants to expose her smooth, flat stomach. He then placed his palm against her skin, tightening his True Qi’s grip on the Gu worm.

Time ticked by, second by agonizing second.

A fine sheen of sweat broke out on Yang Xun’s forehead, but his hands remained perfectly steady.

The True Qi acted like soft silk threads, wrapping around the Gu worm layer by layer, then slowly pulling it out.

PUFF!

A burst of black gas suddenly erupted from Sun Rao’s Dantian. Immediately after, a pitch-black, three-inch-long Gu worm was forcibly yanked from her body by Yang Xun’s True Qi!

The Gu worm hung in mid-air, its leg-covered body twisting frantically. It opened its fang-filled maw and lunged straight for Yang Xun’s face!

"You’re courting death!"

Yang Xun sneered. He didn’t even try to dodge. He simply opened his hand and snatched the Gu worm out of the air.

The Gu worm struggled desperately, the barbs on its legs frantically trying to pierce Yang Xun’s skin. But his palm was coated in a thick layer of True Qi, an impenetrable barrier that the worm couldn’t scratch.

"Refine!"

Yang Xun shouted, and the Yin Yang Dragon and Phoenix Technique flared to life. An intense, scorching heat erupted from his palm as his True Qi transformed into a raging flame, engulfing the Gu worm.

The Gu worm struggled for a moment before finally going still amidst a plume of thick, black smoke.

At the same time, an astonishingly vast and pure energy exploded from the Gu worm’s disintegrated body. Like a bursting dam, it surged through Yang Xun’s palm and rushed madly into his body!

’Such potent Primordial Yin Qi!’

Yang Xun was stunned. ’This is more potent than the Primordial Yin Qi I’d absorb from sleeping with ten women.’

This was the power Sun Rao had accumulated over many years at the cost of her own vital essence, nearly all of which had been devoured, refined, and compressed by this Gu worm.

Now that the Gu worm was refined, all that compressed Primordial Yin Qi was released in an instant, erupting like a volcano and pouring endlessly into Yang Xun’s Dantian.

The vortex of True Qi in his Dantian began to spin frantically, greedily devouring the immense energy like a bottomless pit.

Yang Xun could clearly feel his Cultivation climbing at a terrifying speed!

The barrier to the Fifth Layer of the Qi Refining Realm shattered instantly. A flood of True Qi surged through him, swelling rapidly as it coursed through his meridians.

His eyes widened in disbelief.

’Am I about to break through again?’

’It’s only been a few days since I broke through to the Fifth Layer of the Qi Refining Realm. This is faster than a rocket!’
