Orgasm Treatment

Chapter 266 - 265: Someone Doesn’t Want Him Alive

The emergency room light turned on.

"Mr. Yang, can this man still be saved?" Chen Mingli asked worriedly.

Yang Xun, still stained with blood, said in a deep voice, "His injuries are indeed very severe. Every stab wound was near his vitals. But I just performed first aid. If the doctors inside do their best, there’s a high probability he’ll survive."

He paused, his gaze darkening a fraction. "My only fear is that someone doesn’t want him to live."

Chen Mingli caught the implication, his expression changing slightly. "Are you saying... they have people in the hospital too?"

"The Jin family has been operating in Shunping City for so many years. It wouldn’t be surprising no matter how far their reach extends," Yang Xun said evenly, retracting his gaze. "Captain Chen, do you trust me or them?"

"I trust you, of course," Chen Mingli replied without a second thought.

The moment those words left his mouth, the emergency room doors were pushed open.

A middle-aged doctor in a white coat walked out holding a medical record. His brows were slightly furrowed, and his expression carried an affected heaviness.

"Who are the patient’s family members?" he asked, glancing around before his eyes finally landed on Chen Mingli.

"I am Chen Mingli, Vice Captain of the Shunping City Criminal Investigation Detachment. I’m in charge of this case." Chen Mingli stepped forward. "How is the patient?"

The doctor pushed his glasses up his nose, his tone laced with professional regret. "The wounds are deep and numerous. With the massive blood loss and internal organ failure, we have already done our best."

"Are you sure you did your best?" Yang Xun raised an eyebrow, looking at the doctor with skepticism. Seeing the man’s nonchalant demeanor, it was obvious he hadn’t put in any real effort after entering the emergency room.

"What do you mean by that? Go out and ask around. Everyone knows me, Zheng Peiyuan! A wet-behind-the-ears kid dares to question my abilities?

"If you’re so capable, why don’t you do it!"

"Alright, I’ll go in and save him," Yang Xun countered, his voice brimming with absolute certainty.

Zheng Peiyuan choked on his words for a moment before reprimanding him. "The emergency room isn’t a place for you to fool around! If treatment is delayed, who will take responsibility?"

"I will," Yang Xun replied calmly, yet with unquestionable resolve.

Zheng Peiyuan’s face stiffened for a second. He coldly snorted, "Can you afford to? If the patient dies on the operating table, can you shoulder the blame?"

"I can also take responsibility. Mr. Yang is a miracle doctor!" Zhou Yuan stepped forward from the side. He was very clear about Yang Xun’s medical skills and trusted him unconditionally.

Hearing this, however, Zheng Peiyuan wasn’t pleased. Instead, his brow furrowed deeply.

"Officer Chen, if you still want the witness alive, let Mr. Yang go in! He can definitely save him!" Zhou Yuan looked at Chen Mingli, his face full of anxiety.

Chen Mingli was also somewhat hesitant. Just as he was about to make up his mind, Zheng Peiyuan’s roar rang in his ears.

"No! As the deputy director of this department, I absolutely will not allow you to fool around! If the patient dies, we will definitely be implicated!"

"Dr. Zheng, didn’t you just say the patient was beyond saving? Since you’ve already declared him a lost cause, why not let me try? Or is it that you’re afraid I’ll actually save him?" Yang Xun sneered, his dark, profound eyes locking onto the man.

At these words, Zheng Peiyuan’s expression changed drastically. Chen Mingli also sensed that something was amiss.

"Mr. Yang, go in and save him. I’ll bear all responsibility," Chen Mingli immediately declared. Now that the witness had been found, if he did nothing and watched the man die, he would definitely regret it.

Yang Xun nodded and quickly walked into the emergency room.

Zheng Peiyuan rushed up to stop him. Zhou Yuan hurriedly grabbed the doctor, then raised his hand and slapped him across the face.

SLAP!

The resounding slap drew everyone’s attention.

Zhou Yuan’s face bore undisguised impatience as he coldly said, "Who do you think you are, squawking and whining over here?

"I bet you have a guilty conscience. Otherwise, why would you insist on stopping him?"

Zheng Peiyuan’s head jerked to the side from the blow, a red mark rapidly swelling on half of his cheek. Clutching his stinging face, he stared wide-eyed at Zhou Yuan, utterly dumbfounded. In all his years as a deputy director at this hospital, when had he ever been slapped in the face?

"What... what are you doing!" His voice trembled with fury. "You dare hit a doctor? I’m calling the police!"

"Call them," Zhou Yuan scoffed, fishing his phone out of his pocket and tossing it into the man’s chest. "Call them right now. It’ll just cost me some money, and this young master isn’t lacking any. But don’t even think about living in peace from now on."

Zheng Peiyuan’s expression changed instantly. He could tell that this man was someone he couldn’t afford to provoke. He opened his mouth but ultimately didn’t dare utter a single syllable.

"You, get out of here. Don’t be an eyesore." Zhou Yuan jutted his chin at Zheng Peiyuan.

Clutching his reddened cheek, Zheng Peiyuan gritted his teeth and retreated to the other end of the corridor. He touched his face, the fire in his heart burning brighter and brighter.

When he had come out of the emergency room just now, Chen Dinglai had already lost too much blood and was on the verge of taking his last breath. Having delayed for so long, even if that brat went in to perform emergency treatment, it would be futile.

Gritting his teeth, he quickly ducked into the restroom at the end of the hall. After confirming there was no one around, he pulled out his phone and dialed a number.

The call connected after two rings.

"Mr. Jin." Zheng Peiyuan lowered his voice, speaking rapidly. "Chen Dinglai still has a breath left, but someone intervened and insists on saving him."

The other end of the line was silent for two seconds before Jin Zhenhai’s gloomy voice came through. "Who’s meddling in other people’s business?"

"A young man named Yang. He came over with that cop named Chen. I went up to stop them, and their lackey actually slapped me," Zheng Peiyuan said urgently.

"Do you think he can save him?" Jin Zhenhai ignored his complaints, getting straight to the point.

Zheng Peiyuan spoke with absolute certainty. "I don’t think he could survive such injuries even if he were sent to a major hospital in the provincial capital. But that kid is extremely confident. I don’t know if he actually has real skills."

"If the man is actually saved, you must do everything possible to shut Chen Dinglai up. Once it’s done, I’ll give you two million, and the Jin family’s connections can help you get a promotion." Jin Zhenhai’s voice sounded as if it were laced with poison.

Two million!

Zheng Peiyuan’s heartbeat hitched. That was no small sum! He took a deep breath to suppress his surging greed and whispered, "Don’t worry, Mr. Jin. I have a way."

"You’d better." Jin Zhenhai paused, then added, "If you mess this up, you know the consequences."

The call disconnected.

Zheng Peiyuan stood in the restroom with the phone in his hand, staring at his swollen, red cheek in the mirror. His gaze gradually grew sinister. He had lost face by taking that slap, but if he could pin a medical malpractice incident on that young man named Yang, he would not only get two million but also completely ruin the other party’s reputation.

Kill two birds with one stone.

He wiped the corner of his mouth, straightened the collar of his white coat, and turned to leave the restroom.
