Chapter 2334: Chapter 1163: Bahamut
"Demon Clan? No, are you a real demon?"
Elsa looked at the bizarre creature that suddenly appeared to block her path. The creature’s eyes, brimming with greedy desire, left her uncomfortable. However, she didn’t take action right away; instead, she first observed this demon before speaking to confirm.
Yes, just as she was part of the Angel Race, there were demons within the Alliance too. The two races, along with the Dragon Clan, were regarded as the three legendary races, quite rare indeed.
Of course, due to the Alliance’s pursuit of fair genetic modification, they had become somewhat of a facade, having lost much of their formidable strength. Physically, they weren’t much different from the Elf Race or Moon Rabbit Clan anymore.
Elsa had encountered demon classmates before, but they generally only displayed stronger desires. Never had they given her such an evil and maniacal impression, almost like slaves to their desires.
Hearing the Angel Girl’s question, the stout, obese demon burst into laughter again.
"Kakaka, I am indeed a real demon. Don’t compare me to those lowly Demons of your world’s Demon Clan. Their existence is a disgrace to the Abyss."
Although he himself didn’t appear particularly smart, when mentioning the Abyss, his demon face filled with horizontal flesh still displayed unabashed pride.
This was the confidence of a true Calamity Race.
"I am the great Gluttony Faction Envoy Theodore. You, Little Angel, are rather special. Although you’re like those inferior imitation products, your soul shines as brilliantly as a true Angel. It’s my first time encountering a being like you. Your soul could certainly create a sacrificial feast that would satisfy the Great Duke."
Theodore, whose eyes were squeezed into a slit by his fat, was examining Elsa, much like a diner picking ingredients at a market, without the slightest regard for the Angel Girl.
Of course, Theodore had every right to feel this way, being an Earl of Gluttony. Such a status ranked as mid-to-high level even in the Abyss, let alone venturing to this non-calamity another world.
Initially hearing His Grace Duke Grace mention the Mechanical Wilderness as a nine-star world, he was rather worried. But his few days of discreet observation revealed that perhaps the elders had overthought it; this world was pathetically weak.
Moreover, it was an ideal habitat for demons, as the air was saturated with visible desire. The majority of the inhabitants were lazy and indulgent, each harboring numerous suppressed sins. The demons needed only to ignite these powder kegs slightly, and the world would soon descend into chaos.
Additionally, the barrier between this world and the Spirit World was exceptionally weak, providing demons with a perfect hiding space.
The Spirit World was indeed dangerous, no doubt about it.
Even for a demon, one of the Calamities, the Spirit World wasn’t safe. You’d never know what terrifying monsters hid within.
Yet, the Spirit World also offered opportunity, a powerful force that could be harnessed.
Various powerful races have never ceased their exploration and research of the Spirit World, with the ancient three great calamities leading in progress. Angels, demons, and great dragons could relatively safely harness the Spirit World’s power to a certain extent.
At this moment, the high-level Spirit Ruins in Elsa’s eyes were indeed Theodore’s creation. By integrating her Power of Blasphemy with her Original Sin Power, she commanded the floating, ownerless desires around her, ultimately breaking the boundary between reality and illusion. Successfully summoning the Spirit World’s power, she created this personal domain completely under her control.
This power of constructing a personal realm through fantasy eroding reality was known as "Heavenly Descent" to the angels, "Paradise Liberation" to demons, and "Dragon Domain Expansion" to the great dragons.
If Dorothy saw it, the homebody witch might call it an "Innate Barrier." Unfortunately, the Witch World was too young, their development and understanding of the Spirit World far lagging behind the old great Calamities, even the ancient Silver Races, so they were still in a mimicking phase.
Although the witches lacked their own "Innate Barrier," they could pirate versions of the Divine Realm, Paradise, and Dragon Domain based on their evolution templates.
Though ’pirate’ sounds unimpressive, getting stronger this way isn’t shameful. Furthermore, the Third King proved that pirating doesn’t mean you can’t surpass the original.
In sum, this "Innate Barrier" is quite a high-level technique with a steep threshold, requiring at least a Dominion level in heaven, an Earl level demon in the Abyss, an Ancient Dragon in the Dragon Realm, or a Title-level Sorceress witch.
Even then, that’s just the entry requirement; true mastery takes even greater strength.
Thus, for Theodore, with an Earl-level demon’s power, constructing and maintaining this Paradise domain would usually be taxing in another world, serving as a trump card due to its unsustainability.
But in this Mechanical Wilderness, where the barrier between reality and the Spirit World is fragile, expanding the Paradise domain was effortless, with its size and strength greatly surpassing the norm.
