Otaku Witch
Chapter 2339: Civil Engineering
Early the next morning.
Elsa, feeling a bit upset due to the unexpected news of the loss of the SkyNet core, disconnected from the Icarus body.
As a stream of soul data was transmitted, in the bedroom, Elsa reopened her eyes, sat up straight, and the angel’s ring resembling a crown reappeared above her head.
“Oh well, these sorts of things are naturally for the Alliance apostles to worry about, it’s not for me, the leader of a rebellion organization, to trouble myself with. I hope those guys will find that runaway core soon.”
The angel girl shook her head; she walked into the washroom to freshen up a little, looked at her face in the mirror, and finally sighed in relief after confirming that no trace of worry was left on her face.
She didn’t want to bring those troublesome matters from outside back home, bringing them into this new nest of love she shared with Dorothy.
“I should go prepare breakfast for Dorothy.”
With this thought, she pushed the door open and walked out.
Only…
“Morning, Elsa.”
In the kitchen, Dorothy, wearing an apron, greeted the angel girl with a smile when she saw her coming out of the door.
“Why don’t you sit for a while, breakfast will be ready soon.”
The homebody witch skillfully flipped an egg in the pan.
Hmm, the fried egg was heart-shaped after all. Dorothy was someone who paid attention to details. Since she decided to play the role of newlyweds, she naturally played it to the end.
Well, she also wanted to tease this good sister incarnation a little who wasn’t yet synchronized with her main body.
Right now was the time to tease if she ever hoped to, otherwise, once Elsa awakened, she’d no longer dare act so boldly.
Elsa was taken aback, looking at the time, it was only half-past five in the morning, she wasn’t getting up late.
“Dorothy, do you usually get up this early? You could rest a bit longer, let me handle these cooking duties.”
She suggested.
Actually, the angel girl wasn’t someone who really enjoyed taking care of others, but somehow, every time she saw this partner of hers, there’d be this impulse within her saying, “I must take good care of her.”
Yes, best to spoil her to the point she’d feel she couldn’t live without her, that way, she’d stay by her side forever.
“I’m used to getting up early, and you made dinner yesterday, so today it’s my turn to have you taste my cooking.”
The homebody witch responded.
She certainly wouldn’t dare cut the momentum of her diligence, lest her homebody nature relapse and she’d grow more lazy, especially in front of this good sister.
In the first phase, Denisha liked taking care of everything for her, practically wishing her to have clothes handed to her and food placed in her mouth. The result was that Feng Aotian’s grand ambitions were almost quashed in the lap of luxury. Otherwise, when the Witch’s Night arrived later, she might have been even stronger, preventing many subsequent events from happening.
Therefore, showing any vulnerability before a good sister truly might lead to being spoiled rotten.
Hearing Dorothy speak thus, Elsa, left with no other option, didn’t continue to insist, walking over to sit at the dining table and summoning the virtual screen of SkyNet in her eyes to check the morning news.
“Our correspondent reports: Yesterday, the 003 Mobile City downtown ** Hotel experienced a spiritual world invasion, generating a high-risk spiritual void. Thankfully, Inspector Bahamut arrived in time, resulting in no casualties from this incident…”
“According to a report from the Outer Realm Countermeasures Bureau, a large-scale invasion by external forces began the day before yesterday, yet we urge all citizens to remain calm. Under SkyNet, all actions of external invaders will be exposed, and the Patrol Army’s apostles will soon broadcast a live extermination battle, so stay tuned.”
“Following the external defense extermination battle, the much-awaited fertility indicators will continue to be issued randomly, so families planning to have children should keep an eye on SkyNet updates during this period…”
…
“Inspector Bahamut…”
Elsa silently recited this name in her heart.
It seemed the strong spiritual energy fluctuation she felt yesterday was emanating from this inspector.
“A strong figure like Inspector coming to an old city like 003 means the Alliance is indeed anxious over the core’s disappearance; they must have sent quite a few people to search for it.”
The angel girl speculated inwardly.
Inspector was indeed different from the ordinary officers roaming the streets, being the elite among the elite in the Alliance Armed Section.
Despite the Alliance Government and Armed Section not officially setting ranks, with all standing equal, being directly affiliated with the system.
Levels of martial force strength could be divided into five levels.
The lowest fifth level martial force naturally constituted the ordinary officers populating the streets.
These officers were tasked with maintaining city district security during normal times, most having undergone cyberization above fifty percent, yet still not beyond the realm of humanity.
Higher than ordinary officers was the fourth level martial force, the Special Mobile Squad.
This served as the strongest standing force in every Mobile City, with most members being reserve apostles – Talented Ones with over 90% Cybernetic Modification not yet turned into cyber-madmen.
Typically, there’d be at least one true apostle serving as the squad captain, and some mightier cities might even have several official apostles.
Of course, there were distinctions in strength among apostles; those within the Special Mobile Squad generally were newly completed mechanical ascension lowest-level apostles – Knights.
Above Knight level was the Warship level, and above Warship level there was the Sovereign…
