Chapter 2345: Chapter 1168: The Junior Loki Arrives
"Bhahamut Inspector, the Legion Commander would like you to attend a meeting."
A girl dressed in a military uniform, whose entire body had been cyberized, came running over and interrupted the three of them.
"Alright, I’ll head over now."
Bhahamut nodded towards her, then turned to look at Elsa and Dorothy.
"Ladies, I’ll take my leave now, and I’ll properly apologize to you later."
She politely and courteously greeted them.
"No, no, it’s fine. Just go ahead, we’re okay."
Elsa was moved by the deep affection of the Big Sister Dragon, whom she previously disliked, and was now exceptionally forgiving.
However, the name mentioned by the young female officer made her pause slightly.
"So, she’s the Bhahamut Inspector?"
The Angel Girl was quite surprised; she didn’t expect that the formidable enemy she had narrowly avoided last night would coincidentally meet again today.
But, as this is the Patrol Army’s camp, it’s normal for the Inspector to appear here, so Elsa didn’t think much of it.
Once Bhahamut left with the young female officer, Dorothy regained her freedom and could finally move again.
However, she was genuinely consumed by guilt.
If Bhahamut had just exposed her, reprimanded her harshly, or even beat her up a bit, she would have felt much better. But Bhahamut did nothing.
It was precisely this lack of action that made her feel the worst.
Dorothy couldn’t fathom the thoughts of the Warship Girls’ wife; does she hate her so much that she refuses to acknowledge her?
Yet, if she truly hated her to that extent, why did she utter such awkward but sincere words to Elsa?
In short, abandoning one’s responsibilities might be enjoyable at the moment, but chasing love is a different kind of torment.
"Sigh....."
She could only let out a helpless sigh in the end.
Such is the plight.
Meanwhile, others began to notice the two girls, and soon, a menacingly large man led a group over to them.
He was a young soldier who had completed full cyberization. Judging by his exaggerated cybernetic body, his combat power must be high; perhaps he’s responsible for guarding the camp as a squad leader or something.
"Ladies, who are you?"
The young man’s sharp gaze assessed Elsa and Dorothy, momentarily stunned by their beauty, yet he dutifully questioned them.
"We’ve just been reassigned as civil engineers here."
Elsa projected their credentials onto the soldier’s electronic eye. After validating their identities using the Patrol Army’s authorization, he put away his bomb gun, gesturing to his team to lower their guard.
"Greetings to both engineers, my apologies for earlier. I’m David, in charge of camp security."
Once he learned of their identities, the young officer’s attitude shifted to cordiality.
He then beckoned a short-haired female team member behind him.
"Lucy, please escort the engineers to the engineering division."
"Alright."
The female team member nodded, then gestured to a nearby military vehicle, which started up and autonomously drove to the group.
"Ladies, please get in. The engineering division is quite a distance from here, so we’ll need to drive."
Lucy opened the car door, jumped into the driver’s seat, and beckoned to them.
Elsa and Dorothy did not hesitate, seating themselves in the rear.
"Thank you, Miss Lucy. Sorry to trouble you."
After settling down, Dorothy expressed her gratitude.
Having cleared her mind, she chose not to dwell on perplexing matters—a good habit of the homebody—and began diverting her focus by examining the layout of the camp.
Like City’s 003, which was a Mobile City, Camp 666 is a Mobile Fortress, specifically a mobile fortress.
Indeed, a design that would likely elate Spider Teacher—the iron war fortress.
Camp 666 is essentially a massive land battleship, albeit not the legged design typical of Spider Teacher’s work; the Mechanical Wilderness’s self-propelled fortress designs are much more practical, featuring a caterpillar track style.
Since the surface of the Mechanical Wilderness is mainly endless steel land without notable mountains or rivers, sturdy, durable tracks are more practical.
The entire camp is clad in heavy, sturdy iron armor, and besides the physical armor, Dorothy noted several locations with powerful energy sources—the tower-like structures must be energy shield emitters.
Indeed, a dual physical-energy shield that offers a sense of security.
As the military vehicle moved through the camp’s interior, what Dorothy first saw were the neatly lined ships of various sizes, from small fighting ships to giant battleships—they all rested quietly in the hangar, yet exuded a huge sense of oppression.
As the small military vehicle passed these enormous war machines, it felt like an ant traversing a beast’s lair, causing everyone inside to unconsciously slow their breath, fearing that being too loud might awaken these sleeping beasts.
Aside from the various ships, what excited Dorothy even more was seeing the variety of iron giants—definitely the war mechs.
