Chapter 2347: Chapter 1169: Great Dragon Attack

"Our world is abnormal; it is too desolate and lacks the essential substances that nourish flesh and blood life, namely soil and plants."

In the office, Loki’s little class began, and she miraculously produced a pair of glasses and wore them, donning a full teacher’s uniform as well, with a pointer in hand tapping the blackboard.

Although Loki looked like she was a mere teenager, her short stature was exaggerated by her proportions, especially her legs, which accounted for over sixty percent of her height, and were incredibly long and perfectly shaped.

Oh, and then there was the way her white shirt buttons strained under the pressure, seemingly on the verge of bursting at any moment, a testament to the girl’s generous figure.

When paired with her angelic, innocent, childlike face.

Hmm, it’s a direct killer move.

Purely youthful, yet possessing a demonic charm, innocence and allure are perfectly melded in her.

With a teacher like this, perhaps the students below would be too distracted by admiring the teacher to focus on the lesson.

Unfortunately, the two students below weren’t exactly ordinary themselves.

Elsa remained vigilant as she scrutinized Loki, whereas Dorothy...

The Homebody Witch found herself peculiarly at ease, despite the usual flurry of her desirous thoughts, feeling no worldly longing whatsoever for the alluring loli in front of her.

Although she had never been one for loli-types anyway, judging by the figure of her game-wife Bahamut; she was a staunch mature lady fan, where big sisters equated to justice.

Perhaps it was the lingering sense of discord she felt around the little sister Loki.

Dorothy’s gaze traveled up and down the newly-met little loli, finally resting on her bulging white shirt.

Hmm, most out-of-place here. It felt as though something extraordinary was hidden inside.

Her intuition whispered as much.

"Seems quite dangerous, this kid can’t be hiding a grenade in her chest, can she? What caliber would that even be?"

She mused nonsensically to herself.

But alas, the Homebody Witch was not disrespectful enough to use her clairvoyant eye to peer into people’s privacy, so she listened to the lesson intently instead.

Once realizing that the world’s civil engineering involved developing spirit ruins, Dorothy became intrigued.

However, the sight of the interested Dorothy left Loki a bit despondent; her little charms had been ignored.

But she hadn’t anticipated these tricks having much effect anyway, realizing quickly that if teachers were easily won over, she wouldn’t have been troubled by it. The little girl promptly composed herself and continued the lesson earnestly.

"Actually, back in the ancient Empire era, everything in our world was normal. The land was not steel but fertile soil, rivers carried water instead of oil; everything was so wonderful until the doomsday calamity arrived and destroyed the world."

"Conflicts, wars, plagues, and famines — these four terrible curses mercilessly decimated the Empire and left the entire world in ruins. Even now, these four curses continue to affect our world."

"Populations in the Alliance’s major cities still require precise control because if numbers grow too large, conflicts are inevitable."

"For thousands of years, invasions from external forces have never ceased, even the Alliance’s major cities are constantly moving and never dare stay in one place for long, because the wars are endless."

"The dreadful steel plague infected the land, turning fertile soil into the current barren Land of Steel, even the previously sweet water sources into polluted, poisonous oil."

"Desperate famine shrouds the world, this world has lost the nutrients to nurture new life."

The little girl slowly revealed the truth of this world.

Upon hearing this, Dorothy understood why this world was called the Mechanical Wilderness; it truly was barren, left with nothing but iron and oil, leaving no choice but to develop mechanical technology.

However, the Homebody Witch couldn’t help but glance at Elsa beside her, shocked at the fearsome Good Sister.

Before, she assumed the Divine King’s Doomsday Apocalypse Magic was purely destructive, but now she saw it had permanently altered the laws of this world.

Furthermore, she finally confirmed Denisha indeed held back; otherwise, why was this world’s desolation left precisely with only iron and oil, the two essential resources?

For flesh and blood life, this surely was a terrifying curse, but perhaps a blessing for intelligent machinery life.

However, where did the soil and trees in the mobile cities come from?

Dorothy suddenly recalled the relatively normal environment within the city, feeling perplexed.

And soon Loki answered her doubts.

"Though the Empire’s survivors escaped using mechanical transformation, soon a new issue arose before them: mechanical bodies couldn’t reproduce or have offspring, thus losing their future."

"Although some former Empire experimental bases retained genetic seeds of various races and they could use technological strength to cultivate some children, this world left with only iron and oil lacked resources to nurture children, and lingering plague curses would quickly claim the lives of these yet-to-grow children."
