Others Summon Dragons, I Summon Legendary Knights

Chapter 465: I Am The Executioner

Chapter 465: I Am The Executioner

Godfrey sat in one of the top rooms of a hotel, meditating on his bed. Three months’ worth of mana wasn’t that reassuring when he was about to enter a dungeon.

Summoning his knights would not cost much mana, even if he summoned all of them. All of them could be around him for days, and he would not lose more than a week’s worth of mana, and that amount can be recovered if he meditated consistently.

However, once they began to use skills and enter Black Out States or Golden Light States, the amount being consumed would increase dramatically. And running out of mana brought this sick feeling.

Worse, it was hard to recover mana once it was entirely depleted because of consistent consumption that resulted in stunted growth.

One way or another, he had to find that man whose summon could grow fruits packed with decades’ worth of mana.

Gods would clamour for such a man. They could wage war for him, and there was no doubt he was already in the clutches of the authorities.

Godfrey opened his eyes, exhaling slowly. ’Making sure Isolde went back to handling Pendragon matters was crucial. Our network is damaged. We need to rebuild and expand, or soon enough, someone else will snatch the new dragon summoners and form an opposing force.’

He descended from his bed, cracking his neck and stretching his muscles. Sitting in that one spot for hours was one of the unappealing aspects of attaining strength.

Meditation demanded patience. A trait he lacked gravely.

Godfrey picked up a gauge tablet and pressed the lower part of the screen. It scanned his finger, the homepage opened and a number came out.

40.0, Peak Titled God Tier.

A long sigh left his lips as he headed for the curtains and pulled them apart, revealing the floor-to-ceiling glass wall. "When I break that limit, the sun will once again rip through those clouds. It’s really depressing seeing dark clouds every single day for several months now."

His eyes were locked on the dark skies, then he looked down. His reservation was in Shibuya, a few minutes’ drive from the Crossing, so when his eyes went to the street, all he saw was chaos.

Godfrey’s eyes widened at this. He knew he would have sent Ballista to watch over the gate and also investigate the containment center, but he couldn’t risk losing mana.

He was currently in a management crisis. Losing more mana than required for the dungeon would undoubtedly result in his death. One could say he was no different from a man with limited oxygen, so each breath had to be accounted for.

Godfrey contemplated teleporting to the ground floor and made a mental calculation that came to the conclusion that it wouldn’t cost that much.

With a flash of purple light, Godfrey vanished and reappeared on the streets in a plain white tank top, baggy gray pants, and bare feet.

The moment his feet touched the asphalt road, he was about to use Echo to cover his feet with ironclad boots, but a desperate scream reached his ears, forcing Godfrey to turn.

"Please! Please help my daughter!" She spoke Japanese, but he had taken the sweet that allowed him to understand them like a native.

With wide strides, Godfrey shoved past the people moving along the road with quick steps, some even running away. His pace quickened as he saw the mother was stained with fresh blood, and her daughter had it worse.

There was blood from all the orifices on her face. When Godfrey got to the road, he made all the speeding cars float. The drivers couldn’t believe their eyes, and even the people in the streets all turned to witness this.

The headlights of the vehicles illuminated the asphalt road as the levitating vehicles were slanted, almost like they were about to crash headfirst into the road.

But the cars weren’t even the target. Godfrey stood before a truck. One hand held the truck, its intense light almost blinding his features while he stared at the mother and the child.

This woman almost threw herself into the road, and no one wanted to help. People instead fled because of her.

All the cars crashed onto the ground when Godfrey realized he was supposed to be conserving mana. Things like these were basic for a being of his tier, but his mana level had made him extra conscious.

"That woman is infected!" someone from the crowd bellowed.

Godfrey looked into the woman’s eyes and saw hope. She looked at him with hope, like a flame was kindled within her and strength returned to her body.

"She just—!"

Godfrey’s eyes narrowed at the sound of a flute, and the woman suddenly began to vomit blood. Then two centipedes, three fingers thick, tore out of her daughter’s mouth with such speed almost no one could react.

The centipede almost bit Godfrey, but his Immortal Armour manifested over his body, and it coiled around his forearm.

"He’s infected!" someone screamed, and the crowd scattered.

Fire burst out of Godfrey’s forearm, incinerating the centipedes. Before his eyes, he saw tears spill from the mother’s eyes as her hope crumbled.

Her silent tears became loud weeping. "He... he just went to save people that were sick." She burst into tears.

Godfrey knew the woman was talking about her husband.

He stood there, silent.

"If you can’t help me, please help my Mina. Please... PLEASE!"

’Is there any way they can be saved?’

’There is none I know of. I’ve seen things similar to this, but none this bad. I also think you should retreat from them. The big ones might not be able to infect you, but there might be ones small enough to slip through gaps in my body.’ The Immortal Armour responded solemnly. The tone of the ancient armour, only reassured Godfrey’s earlier assumption.

The infected weren’t in the category of the living anymore.

’So... I am the executioner.’ Godfrey turned, and a ring of fire rose up around the mother and child. It turned them into ash before they could register the pain.

Ken sent a message to him, informing him of all his findings, so he knew only fire could end it all.

"I’m going into that dungeon tonight," he muttered to himself.
