Chapter 1477: Advancement Effects
Chapter 1477: Chapter 1477: Advancement Effects
"What exactly happened that day?" A day later, Gu Shenghui, waking Pei Yan, asked about the strange situation from the previous day, as he watched Pei Yan sitting on the bed, too lazy to get up, eating bread and sausage.
Pei Yan chewed the bread and pointed to the table. Gu Shenghui handed him a cup of water from the table. As Pei Yan took the cup, while unscrewing the lid, he asked back, "How’s my sister?"
"According to Zhao Yuanhu, she’s much better than yesterday. She was tossing and turning all day yesterday, but now the rash has significantly subsided, and her mind is clear again." Unperturbed by Pei Yan’s question that diverted from his own, Gu Shenghui relayed the situation Zhao Yuanhu had explained.
"Gulp, gulp, gulp, ahh!" Pei Yan tipped his head back, gulped down the cup of water, handed the cup back to Gu Shenghui, then bit into the sausage before answering, "It was a repulsion reaction from the fusion. This time the fusion lasted way too long! Normally, whether I fuse alone or my sister does, the fusion time should not exceed three hours, but this time it stretched to nine days. Fortunately, most of my body was in a dormant evolution state during these nine days, so the repulsion reaction didn’t occur immediately. However, after enduring the tribulations and successfully evolving, the backlash hit all at once, forcing me to rush back despite risks. It was all worth it. Though I benefited the most from this fusion evolution, Hu Jiu and my sister also awakened to the ninth stage during this evolution."
Pei Yan moved his joints and lamented, "It’s just my sister suffered more. The biggest repulsion reaction comes from symbiotic contract fusion because fusion between different creatures inherently leads to such reactions. I had previously fused once with Hu Jiu, which alleviated the symptoms, but my sister, not being the contract signer, suffered greater repulsion during indirect fusion. If not for my sister’s unique abilities, another ability wouldn’t have completed this collaboration." Pei Yan had considered this at the planning stage and nearly decided against absorbing two dimensional avatars. However, Pei Jin dispelled his concerns with her biotechnology ability, which granted her better recovery and adaptability. This was indeed true, as Pei Yan’s red rash took a week to subside after his first fusion with Hu Jiu, whereas Pei Jin completed such transformation in a day.
Despite knowing this, Pei Yan still feels terrified, and he wouldn’t resort to this trump card unless absolutely necessary. At least for the next month, he wouldn’t make such a choice. He and Hu Jiu benefit more from repeated fusions, becoming more coordinated, while Pei Jin, not under contract, continues to suffer physical damage from each fusion.
"Are you now confident about facing Council City?" Gu Shenghui asked the question closest to his heart.
Pei Yan paused upon hearing, stopped chewing, contemplated briefly, and replied, "I can’t say I’m completely confident, as it’s challenging the strongest Holy Land of a dimension, but now I can say even facing Supreme K in another dimension, I won’t simply kneel and pledge allegiance under his pressure." As he spoke, Pei Yan extended his hand towards the wooden table by the bed, and a faint blue light shot from his fingertip, attaching to the table.
Gu Shenghui looked in the direction Pei Yan pointed, and saw the wooden table enveloped by blue light change form in the blink of an eye, first transitioning from wood to a glossy steel material, then twisting and deforming as if alive, soon transforming from a table into a four-legged mechanical spider, scuttling back and forth in the room, then locking onto its target, leaping toward Gu Shenghui on the bed.
Changing the essence of objects? As Gu Shenghui marvelled at Pei Yan’s advancement in abilities, he understood the intent behind it, sensing Pei Yan wanted him to test this device’s combat strength. So, Gu Shenghui didn’t rush to destroy it, but rather flicked several abilities at the mechanical spider’s legs.
Among the four abilities released, two hit the mechanical legs, directly shattering them into pieces like blocks. Gu Shenghui noticed the destroyed legs reverted to wooden structure after falling to the floor away from ability support, while the other two abilities acted like glue, firmly sticking the remaining complete legs to the floor.
The attack threw the mechanical spider off balance, causing it to slump, yet this failed to halt its advance. Upon realizing its issue, the spider decisively took corresponding measures, breaking off the stuck legs to balance with its other severed limbs, then commenced reducing its size, quickly forming a turret-like device, aiming the barrel at Gu Shenghui’s shoulder.
Seeing this, Gu Shenghui dared not be careless, swiftly raising his hand to fire two more attacks. These broke the mechanical spider’s two legs right as the barrel flashed blue light, skewing the angle of the shot, with a blue beam grazing Gu Shenghui’s shoulder.
Boom!
"What happened? What’s going on?"
"Is someone attacking?"
Seeing the commotion upstairs, a group rushed in just to witness the room strewn with wooden debris, and a hole blasted in the wall by Pei Yan’s bed.
Gu Shenghui, covered in dust, waved his hand furiously, "Go out, nothing’s wrong! Come back later!"
After chasing away the crowd of onlookers, Gu Shenghui looked at Pei Yan, annoyed, "Nonsense! At your level, control your strength; otherwise, it could be fatal!"
"Cough, cough, cough! Understood!" Pei Yan coughed dryly due to the dust, looked at the food stained with grey in his hand, knowing he was at fault, he casually tossed it into a trash basket, helplessly saying.
"How long can you sustain such transformations? How much can you maintain?" Gu Shenghui asked as he brushed away the dust.
Pei Yan thought for a moment solemnly, "Without affecting my combat capabilities, transforming tens of thousands is no problem." Extending his hand proudly, he added, "Now my source energy approaches infinity. After evolving and enduring tribulations, my source energy communication tightens, allowing me to swiftly absorb and restore my source energy anywhere within any dimension."
In this aspect, he’s even stronger than pure Masters of Origin. Whereas other dimension Masters of Origin struggle due to prominent source traits, inhibiting their full prowess outside their own realms, Pei Yan enjoys unimpeded, rapid source absorption, except for the Candle Dragon known for devouring in Blood Devils dimension.
