Chapter 1502: Chapter 150

The cold rain clattered on the armor, unsettling the nerves of Jiaheris as he listened to his companions’ complaints. Back when they were first summoned by Lanloste to face these young opponents at the Sword Discussion Conference, it took all their might to contend against his soul body form. But now, even facing him at his near-full power, the opposing side dared to send only one person to battle. Watching the group behind remain indifferent suggested that they had full confidence in their ally’s strength.

"Regretting the past can’t change what’s already happened; obliterating these heretics who dare challenge the church is what we need to do. This time, we won’t let them escape!" With this, Jiaheris raised his great sword. In the Magic Plane, with Council City behind him and revived within the most suitable Knight’s body, wielding the Divine Artifact he had wielded all his life, he had the advantage of time, place, and allies. He had no excuse for failure in this battle.

Roar!

Another dragon’s roar sounded. The first to respond to Jiaheris wasn’t Zheng Jia Ru’s counterattack, but Jiang Donghu, transforming into a Divine Dragon in mid-air, spewing Dragon Breath, prompting varied reactions across the battlefield.

First was Aleister towards Council City’s direction. As Jiang Donghu’s Dragon Breath was taking shape, almost everyone on the battlefield simultaneously caught a pungent scent. Aleister wrinkled his nose and soon noticed the issue, swiftly looking up at the rain falling from the sky.

Initially thinking the rain was simply a change due to Forbidden Curse induced weather, he paid no heed until the moment just before the Dragon Breath was released, the rain transformed into potent alcohol.

Aleister’s sharp gaze scanned Pei Yan’s entourage, quickly locating the source of the transformation through the changes in energy within the rain. An inconspicuous member of Pei Yan’s group, once unknown and easily overlooked, came into his view.

Kong Lin! A member of the twelve-person squad whose initial supernatural ability related to the alcohol from nature’s bounty, able to condense alcohol out of thin air or convert some liquids into alcohol, exploiting its traits to the fullest, such as manipulating fire triggered by it or utilizing it for detoxification and healing. Originally, he and Pei Yan together participated in the Secret Prison battle, cooperating in an assault against one of the seven representatives of God’s desire, Liang Guangsheng. He also took part in subsequent rescue missions involving Pei Jin and others. However, he wasn’t part of Pei Yan’s core four-member group, nor was his aptitude top-notch, unlike Jiang Feiyang and Liang Qian who had distinctly powerful supernatural abilities, which led to a significant disparity in strength and prevented him from becoming the most dazzling presence.

Yet, like Wang Wenze and Peng Lang, he never ceased trying to catch up with them, whether it was during the five-year battles in Hell Plane or coordinating various tasks in Daoist Plane, their presence was always there. Combined with their relationships with Pei Yan, they became key figures under the council’s cultivation focus, with ample resource allocation and the signing of a symbiotic pact during this Dragon Realm journey boosting their advancements substantially.

This time, covertly invoking his abilities within the crowd, he delivered an unexpected surprise to the enemy. Although Aleister identified the target, it was too late to counter; while raising his hand to cut off the influence of the young stranger over the rain, he issued a series of orders: "All Knights should maximize defensive energy, Mages prepare water-based magic to counter, Array Masters within the city commence the activation of Forbidden Magic Domain! Forbidden Curse Mages switch to earth-based curses!"

These commands were followed by Aleister’s uncompromising instruction to Urban: "Once the Forbidden Magic Domain completes, retreat the army back within the domain."

Issuing this command was akin to declaring to the world that Council City, in this grand clash, had fallen behind in the conflict, forced to adopt passive defense at their city gates. Although today’s military lineup could not represent the peak combat power of the Magic Plane, it was the strongest trump card under Council City’s jurisdiction. If the forthcoming battle couldn’t repel the enemy army, should they allow it to lead an assault into the city, clashing within the city itself? If that happened, regardless of whether they repelled the enemy, Council City would emerge as the loser, its reputation tarnished.

Yet, what alternatives were there? Command the Divine Punishment Army, Magic Guard Corps, and actual Dragon Knights! These represent the peak military power of the Magic Plane. But akin to the Six Guards Elite of the Immortal Palace and the Demon God Guard of the Hell Plane, these troops were under the direct command of the Master of Origin as Personal Guards, following only the deployments of the Master of Origin. Judging by the situation unfolding in the field, the Supreme seemed to have no intent to dispatch the Divine Punishment Army to block the enemy.

Numerous thoughts flashed through Urban’s mind, while far off, the dragon’s roar was already heard, with the massive Dragon Breath spiraling across the dim sky beneath dark clouds, rushing toward the Temple Knight army stationed below Council City.

As the Dragon Breath was unleashed, Gerald alongside Jiaheris maneuvered, Gerald swinging his great sword engaging in a fierce struggle against Zheng Jia Ru to thwart his actions as Jiaheris ascended to confront the formidable, scorching Dragon Breath head-on. Infusing energy into the great sword, a booming shout accompanied the release of a colossal crescent-shaped energy slash imbued with holy light and clarity, blasting from his sword.

The immense energy slash collided with the Dragon Breath mid-air. Amid an ear-splitting roar, the seemingly unstoppable Dragon Breath shattered under Jiaheris’s slash. Severed, the Dragon Breath’s power significantly reduced, transforming into dozens of small fireballs that brushed past Jiaheris, falling across the battlefield behind him.

Though Jiaheris’s attack effectively diminished the Dragon Breath’s power, the scattered fireballs combusted immediately upon contact with the alcohol transformed from the rain across the battlefield, igniting an immense blaze that enveloped the mixed armies battling outside Council City.

Fortunately, due to Aleister’s foresight, all Temple Knights elevated their protective energy to the maximum, shielding themselves and their mounts from the searing flames. But such protection could only last briefly. At this critical juncture, the water magic summoned by the prepared Mages and Witches salvaged the crisis.

Fire elements were continuously extracted from the air, with vast amounts of rainwater akin to heavenly showers directed onto the battlefield by the Mages. During this, they kept a vigilant watch on Kong Lin amongst the Council members’ group, poised to expel his energy once they detected any rain conversion using his abilities.

Despite Kong Lin’s significant power upgrade after advancing, independently breaching the barrier formed by the joint efforts of the Mage Witch Coven was premature for him, thus he could only watch helplessly as they systematically neutralized his and Jiang Donghu’s attacks.
