Chapter 1525: Chapter 1525: Battle Rejoined

"This Pei Yan is not an adversary that can be easily eliminated. His body is extraordinarily robust, and his methods are uncanny! Moreover, his soul defense far surpasses that of ordinary people! Ordinary forbidden spell attack methods cannot easily lead to his death," said Gerald, worried that Meilin might not be clear about the situation as he introduced.

"Exactly! Even if we have to adhere to the agreement and fight him six against one! We can replace him with three of our Round Table Knights and have that summoned Urban step aside. With your cooperation along with the Holy Mage and the Saint Violet Witch, we can use our previous combat strategy," Jiaheris directly suggested to replace Urban. If anyone else said this, it would undoubtedly incur Urban’s outrage, but coming from a Legendary Hero, he could only listen obediently.

"No! I only need two Round Table Knights to replace these two. This is the agreement and also what I believe to be the best combat lineup. I have my considerations," said Meilin, pointing at another Holy Mage Anthony and Holy Knight Hogel.

"Alright then! In battle, knights exist to protect you, and since you have decided, we have no objections! Tell me! Who do you want to choose from among us?" Gerald said helplessly, seeing Meilin’s determined attitude.

"Have you not resurrected Lanloste?" Meilin asked with confusion, his gaze sweeping over the crowd.

"He has already fallen! His soul has fully dissipated into complete oblivion! Besides him, Boss and Lanmalok, three Round Table Knights have died at the hands of these aliens!" Upon hearing this question, several Round Table Knights’ expressions sank. Jiaheris pointed at Pei Yan with hatred and said, "Among them, two died directly at his hands!"

Facing Jiaheris’s accusation, Pei Yan felt no guilt but instead raised his head with a smile, feeling honored. His expression once again ignited the anger in the hearts of the Round Table Knights, but fortunately, Meilin intervened to dissuade them, saying, "True death might be a form of relief for you. Believe me, it’s neither beautiful nor that terrifying! Alright then, in that case, Gerald and Bedivere will fight alongside me!"

"Me?" Bedivere, somewhat flustered, was a little incredulous when he found himself being named.

"That’s right! Bedivere, we’ve collaborated many times, haven’t we? Oh! The injuries on your body are not an issue!" Meilin saw through his concerns and turned to Aleister. Without Meilin needing to speak, Aleister understood and lightly pointed at Bedivere. Temporal magic immediately took effect on him, instantly healing his injuries and even his shattered armor.

"Alright! Everything is ready then!" After selecting his combat lineup, Meilin looked at Pei Yan with a smile and suggested, "Now, can we have unrelated personnel exit the field? Because I feel this battle will have a broad impact!" Having said that, to show his sincerity, Meilin raised his hand, and besides the six who would be fighting, the others reluctantly retreated to the edge of the Council City.

"You all should retreat a bit farther!" Pei Yan, seeing this, instructed his companions, turning to the side.

"Be careful and act within your limits! Prevent any trickery from the opponent!" With no other option, Pei Yan’s companions gave him some advice before retreating far from the battle circle.

"Can we start now?" Pei Yan asked, spreading his hands.

"We can!" Meilin answered, giving a slight shake to the short magic wand in his hand. With a puff of smoke, the wand transformed into a magic staff as long as a Forehead-level Staff. With a tap in midair from Meilin’s staff, a platform similar to that at the Sword Discussion Conference materialized, suspended in midair, covering most of the battleground.

Without much thought, Pei Yan proactively landed within the arena. This was an expected preventative measure the opponent would take, as the battle between seven Heavenly Dao supreme-level masters would result in destructive attacking forces capable of obliterating everything around the battlefield. Of course, this was no concern for the Investigation Hall, since they were mostly mechanical puppets that could be reconstructed at low cost. However, the Council City’s loss would be significant, covering large parts of the Outer City District and countless lives.

"Then I shall be impolite!" Once Meilin and the others entered the arena, Pei Yan could no longer contain his eagerness for battle. He tapped his foot on the ground, issued a warning, and launched an attack on the opponent.

Bam!

A clap of thunder resounded, followed by the ear-splitting sound of a tearing void. Pei Yan’s figure swiftly vanished from the spot! Only a residual shadow was left on the platform. He was not using any spatial technique, just utilizing pure hyper-speed movement!

"So fast!" Although having a certain premonition of Pei Yan’s strength, seeing the near-mirage movement speed for real, Meilin couldn’t help but exclaim.

As Meilin’s exclamation left his lips, Pei Yan had already burst into the formation of six! Urban, Gerald, and Bedivere, three knights, were tasked with protecting the mages and the witch behind them, striving with all their might to stop Pei Yan! Yet Pei Yan’s speed was too great, seizing the breach in their yet-to-unify defense, he bypassed their defense.

Meilin! Aleister! Or Hecate!

These three names echoed in the knights’ minds, assessing who Pei Yan would strike!

It’s Aleister!

Once in combat, Pei Yan remained very calm. In the current choice, removing Aleister was undoubtedly the optimal choice. Whether it’s the young Urban or the present Meilin, they are illusions summoned from the temporal stream, fundamentally connected to Aleister. As long as the casting figure is eliminated, it equates to eliminating three enemies at once. What remains, Hecate and the other two Round Table Knights, would be insignificant threats.

But how could the opponent easily allow Pei Yan to get his way! Just as Pei Yan pierced through the defensive gap between Gerald and Bedivere, he felt his high-speed moving body freeze solid in mid-air.

For onlookers, Pei Yan, who was just a residual shadow a moment ago, maintained a forward-charging stance, ready to attack. However, his body appeared like a cement statue, hilariously suspended mid-air.

Space locked! Coupled with time slowing!

Pei Yan instantly detected the source of the force controlling him. A single time-slowing spell could decelerate his speed but couldn’t render him immobile as now; this was due to a dual seal of space and time.

Catching a glimpse from the corner of his eyes, he saw the smiles on Meilin and Aleister’s lips, confirming that this was a joint move by two Holy Mages, quick and effective!

No time to compliment them, as Pei Yan’s body was controlled, Gerald and Bedivere seamlessly shifted their stance from defense to offense. Two Holy Swords aimed at Pei Yan’s neck and chest, an encircling slash approached.

"Die!" An enraged Urban, wielding the Holy Sword of Light, also joined in the siege.
