Chapter 1391: Chapter 749: Crushing Victory
The gunshot sounded like the prelude of an orchestra, followed closely by the sound of horses’ hooves hitting the ground, a dense overlapping sound that felt like a drumbeat that shook the heart, quickly revealing more and more warriors on horseback behind the shooter.
These people had diverse appearances, and the leader was wearing a set of ancient knight’s armor. Who else could it be but the Honor Guard led by Reynard?
The Knight felt his armor being torn apart by a bullet and looked up, somewhat confused. How could there be so many mercenaries here?
It’s not surprising the Knight thought that, because the equipment of the Honor Guard was not standard, but rather those good gears collected by Lance or custom-made by master craftsmen.
So it looked a bit chaotic, unlike the orderly Cavalry, but this did not affect their combat ability because they were not ordinary people.
However, a strange situation arose at this time. Like the Musketeer who dismounted after firing, many of those who gathered didn’t charge on horseback but instead dismounted and rushed forward. Only a few rode around the outskirts, giving a sense of a hunt.
The Knight had just killed a few people, the feel was hot, and the illusionary sense of power clouded his reason.
Seeing those people actually abandon their horses boosted his confidence further. These lowly peasants know nothing about horse battles.
Immediately, his gaze locked onto the strongest person among them, and he charged forward as if he were Don Quixote charging a giant.
To be honest, Barin felt a bit awkward, as his size meant that ordinary horses couldn’t bear the burden of his heavy armor, so he had arrived by carriage, drawn by four horses and filled with supplies besides him.
They had no logistics for their journey since logistics couldn’t keep up, so they had to rely on themselves.
He had just gotten out of the carriage when he saw the Knight charging toward him, undoubtedly a provocation.
Facing the charging Knight, Barin had just dismounted, hadn’t even had time to grab a battle axe, but he had no intention to dodge; instead, he seized the lance aimed at him with his left hand.
At that moment, Barin’s stance didn’t waver at all, while the Knight on horseback suddenly halted from his fast charge. When the surging force backfired onto him, it actually separated him from his warhorse, lifting him entirely.
The warhorse continued to run. Barin sidestepped and grasped the horse’s tail with his right hand and pulled, causing it to rear up and give a neigh yet being forcibly stopped.
Then came the scene that could be called iconic: Barin, holding the tip of the lance in one hand, single-handedly lifted the Knight, while the other hand grabbed and stopped the sprinting warhorse.
Terrifying strength displayed - this is the power of the Hamlet Champion!
Barin frankly didn’t care about this, casually slammed the Knight down to the ground, being more concerned about the warhorse in comparison.
The warhorse, having felt pain earlier, went crazy, bucking toward Barin. Though wearing heavy armor, he reckoned it wouldn’t feel good if he took a hit.
He directly let go of the horse’s tail, jumped sideways, and tackled.
Back then, before Lance discovered him, he could already wrestle with wild boars. Now, he could directly lift the warhorse, issuing a roar.
"Hoo yah!"
The warhorse, its four feet off the ground and struggling madly, still felt like a toy hard to escape from Barin’s grip; then, being slammed to the ground, it became obedient at once.
Such strength displayed was really too terrifying!
Barin had no intention to play, let go of the dazed horse, and turned to the Knight, who got slammed earlier and even forgot to stand up.
Only then did he realize, instinctively wanting to escape, but the heavy lance stuck under his arm hampered his attempt to get up, hastily he detached it and threw it away.
Even the armor that originally symbolized a Knight felt burdensome at this moment, wishing to discard it, crawling just to distance himself from that monster. Unfortunately, he hadn’t crawled far before his thigh got grabbed, dragging him, hanging him upside down by one leg.
"If My Lord didn’t want you alive, you’d be dead today."
Barin raised his hand to pull off the helmet, revealing a young-looking person, whose face was now full of terror, showing none of that previous arrogance.
Meanwhile, the Knight heard the armor emit a sound that made one’s teeth ache, his leg gripped until it dented, the pain from it forcing him to wail.
"Ahhh!"
Barin couldn’t be bothered with it; the Lord only required capturing some back and didn’t care how they returned.
The seemingly complex process actually happened within a few breaths: the Knight charged... the Knight fell.
Nonchalantly tossing aside the battered Knight, Barin didn’t even bother retrieving his axe, charging directly into the village.
Relying on just his fists, seeing a cultist, swinging a punch, none could withstand a hit from him.
This was him holding back; otherwise, using his full strength would blast heads open.
As soon as the cultists charged in, the Honor Guard followed them, so when Barin charged in, many personals were already engaged with the cultists.
The Knight might not recognize them, but those Heretic Priests along with Hamlet had battled them for so long, naturally knowing what these people represented, just surprised how quickly they reacted.
