Chapter 435: Temple Master Ning Crashes? Little Dog, the Eternal God!
The next morning, Ning Fei turned on the live broadcast.
In the video feed, Ning Fei sat on a sled. Arrayed in front of him were five Alaskan Malamutes and one black native village dog.
Surprisingly, Little Dog stood at the very front of the pack.
"Wow, a sled!"
The viewers gasped in admiration at the sight.
"What a beautiful scene!"
"I wouldn't even dare to dream of a sight like this!"
On the stream, Ning Fei wore his white Taichi Sun and Moon robe because the Daoist Robe was incredibly warm.
Crafted entirely from white material, the garment featured a Tai Chi circle on the back and the sun, moon, and heaven and earth embroidered on the sleeves, brimming with ancient charm.
Paired with Ning Fei's gentle and handsome features, the outfit made everything he did look exceptionally dashing. To ward off the cold, he had also wrapped a dark blue scarf around his neck, adding a touch of untamed elegance to his appearance.
"The most common mode of transportation here in Antarctica is the sled. They do have snowmobiles, but those consume too much fuel, and we need to conserve energy out here."
"Using sled dogs is much more convenient. It only costs about five jin of dog food per hundred kilometers."
Ning Fei sat on the sled and spoke with a smile.
"Hahaha, that's way too economical."
"Sled dogs are that amazing!"
"I'm so jealous. I want to ride in a dog sled too."
"These dogs are all so cute!"
Everyone laughed at his explanation.
Ning Fei continued, The most common breeds of sled dogs are Huskies, Alaskan Malamutes, and Samoyeds, which is why they are affectionately known as the 'Three Sled Fools.'
The main trait of these breeds is their thick coats, which makes them highly resistant to the cold.
Normally, a native village dog would have a hard time moving around in this snowy environment because of their shorter fur and poor cold tolerance.
"Little Dog is the exception. He has an unusually strong constitution."
Ning Fei spoke to the drone.
Then, he looked forward and shouted loudly, "On your marks, get ready!"
Hearing the command, Little Dog immediately barked twice at the dogs behind him.
The lead dog of a sled pack is crucial; it is responsible for navigating and guiding the entire team's pace.
The other dogs simply follow its lead.
Little Dog always loved getting involved in everything. Back on the Grassland, he had learned to herd sheep like a sheepdog, and now in Antarctica, he had appointed himself the boss of the sled dogs.
"Go!"
Ning Fei shouted.
Little Dog immediately sprang into action.
Seeing him move, the five sled dogs behind him all broke into a run.
Ning Fei held the reins, speeding across the ice and snow as the wind howled past his face.
He pulled the scarf a little tighter around his neck.
"What speed!"
"This looks so thrilling!"
"Good lord, is Antarctica really this relaxing?"
"Daily dose of envy."
The viewers marveled as they watched the scene unfold.
The drone rose high into the air to capture the broadcast.
As far as the eye could see, the video displayed a stark white world, consisting of nothing but pure ice and snow.
And in the middle of it all, six large dogs pulled a sled, running with absolute freedom.
Ning Fei sat on the sled, the long tails of his scarf trailing behind him as if painting the shape of the wind.
"Turn left!"
Ning Fei flicked the rein in his left hand.
Little Dog understood perfectly and immediately veered to the left.
Due to his high agility stats, Little Dog bolted sharply to the left the moment he received the command.
However, he chose to make a hard, sharp turn.
Anyone who has driven a car knows that the faster the vehicle is moving, the smaller the steering adjustments need to be, otherwise it will jerk violently.
When Little Dog's sharp turn transferred to the sled, it resulted in a massive, sideways drifting skid.
"Little Dog, you turned too wide!"
Ning Fei cried out in alarm.
The rest of the sled dogs followed their leader, all leaning their bodies as they sprinted left.
The sled quickly skidded out sideways, heading straight toward an upward slope just a short distance ahead.
Drifting onto the incline, the sled went airborne instantly before flipping over completely in mid-air.
Ning Fei hit the snow and slid sideways for seven or eight meters.
The viewers: "..."
A brief silence fell over the stream.
Immediately after, a dense wave of bullet chats—far more enthusiastic than usual—flooded in from the right side of the screen.
"Little Dog, the eternal god!"
"Good lord, I thought Temple Master Ning was invincible, but he actually fell at the paws of Little Dog!"
"Sending 100 rockets for Little Dog! Lord Dog is badass!"
"Hahahaha, this is too funny! Temple Master Ning can beat a giant gorilla, yet he met his match in Little Dog!"
"Good lord, I definitely didn't see that drift coming."
"Just got here. Is this Santa Claus's stream? Did the reindeer rebel?"
"!"
The snow was incredibly soft. Even an ordinary person wouldn't be hurt falling on it, so naturally, Ning Fei was perfectly fine.
Still, the crash was more than a little embarrassing.
Ning Fei sat in the snow. Little Dog led the pack of sled dogs over to him, looking genuinely concerned.
Little Dog licked his nose and let out a soft "Woof."
"You really are something else!"
Sitting in the snow and looking at the pack of worried sled dogs, Ning Fei wasn't angry in the slightest; he just laughed.
"Slow down when you turn," he told them.
If we're going too fast and you make a sharp turn, the sled will fling out sideways.
"When turning, just gently shift your direction to the side a little bit."
Ning Fei rubbed Little Dog's head and spoke in a gentle tone.
Seeing this, the Alaskan Malamutes crowded around, wanting to be pet as well.
Ning Fei wore his Qilin Pendant, which gave him the aura of a divine beast, causing animals to instinctively want to be close to him.
These Alaskan Malamutes were massive dogs. As they all thrust their huge heads forward, Ning Fei patted them one by one, feeling like he didn't have enough hands for the job.
"What a beautiful sight."
"Temple Master Ning is such a sweetheart!"
"'Sweetheart' is practically a derogatory term these days."
"It depends on who they're sweet to. Temple Master Ning being so warm to animals is a great thing."
"I've seen Temple Master Ning in real life. When he's walking by himself, he gives off this gentle yet slightly aloof vibe."
"Right, right! I've seen him too. Before talking to him, he looked like an immortal stepping right out of a painting, but the moment you speak with him, you realize he's super friendly."
"Good lord, you guys are so lucky."
The viewers happily chatted away in the comments.
After petting the dogs for a while, Ning Fei stood up, brushed the snow off his clothes, and walked over to right the sled.
"Little Dog, get ready."
Ning Fei called out again.
"Woof!"
Little Dog understood and returned to the very front of the pack, even impressively pawing at the snow with his hind legs.
"Go!"
At Ning Fei's command, Little Dog once again led the five Alaskan Malamutes bounding forward.
This time, Little Dog ran much more steadily.
Whenever obstacles like rocks or ice ridges appeared ahead, he would veer to the side well in advance to avoid them.
Just like that, the sled sped onward.
"We're almost there!"
About two hours later, Ning Fei suddenly shouted excitedly.
Hearing his voice, the viewers all looked through the drone's camera lens.
Not far ahead, a cluster of adorable black-and-white figures came into view.
Seeing the scene, the viewers exclaimed in awe:
"It's penguins! A flock of Antarctic penguins!"
