Pampered by My Secret Husband

Chapter 1409 - 1411: I’m Giving You a Chance to Come Clean

"Young Master Lucifer brought you some interesting little gadgets again."

These days, Miss Cecilia Branford had been listless; everyone could see it.

Young Master Lucifer kept coming up with different kinds of fun little gadgets every day to cheer her up.

Hearing that Lucifer had come, Sophie Sullivan only lazily sprawled over Gabby, lifting her eyelids a bit.

The next second, Lucifer’s tall, slender figure appeared in her line of sight. His facial color was a little complicated, and the gaze he fixed on her carried a faint, almost imperceptible worry. "Cecilia Branford."

"Lucifer, I heard from the butler you brought me some interesting little gadgets?" Sophie Sullivan spread out her palm, demanding the little gadgets.

"No, there aren’t any interesting little gadgets today." Lucifer shook his head, taking a stack of photos from the inside pocket of his suit.

He hesitated, wondering whether he should show them to her.

"What’s that?" Sophie Sullivan’s gaze landed on his hand, her finger hooking slightly, wanting to see.

Lucifer hesitated, his handsome brows drawing together slightly. "Cecilia Branford, before you look at these, you need to be mentally prepared."

"Prepared for what?" Sophie Sullivan gradually sat up, one hand rubbing Gabby’s head.

In her beautiful eyes, glistening like water, there was deep confusion.

"It’s related to Thomas Shannon."

Sophie Sullivan pressed her lips at the corner of the mouth. If it was related to Thomas Shannon, then... it wasn’t anything good.

"I want to see." Her tone was firm, without a trace of hesitation.

Lucifer handed her the photos. Sophie Sullivan flipped through them one by one; in the photos, Thomas Shannon and Cheryl Chew were together, the background was the campus, probably A University where Cheryl Chew taught.

Cheryl Chew’s facial color didn’t look great, and Thomas Shannon was carefully supporting her. The two of them looked extremely intimate.

"What is this?" Sophie Sullivan’s face went cold. While she wasn’t around, Thomas Shannon and Cheryl Chew were flirting with each other?

Lucifer sat down, one hand falling on Gabby’s head, pinching its ears for fun. "This is what Derek Clark dug up. After thinking it over again and again, I still felt you should know. These days, the relation between Thomas Shannon and Cheryl Chew hasn’t been simple..."

That one word "not simple" was enough for Sophie Sullivan’s imagination to run wild.

Smack!

The whole stack of photos was tossed across the tea table.

Sophie Sullivan gave a cold snort, her expression as icy as frost. "That fickle bastard!"

Sending roses every day, cards every day with all his caring little reminders—turns out it was just his routine.

And he was doing great over in Country A, whispering sweet nothings with Cheryl Chew.

Did he take her death as a given?

Sophie Sullivan leaned forward and picked up the phone from the tea table, dragging Thomas Shannon’s number out of the blacklist, and made a phone call.

The telephone rang for a long time before it was answered. Thomas Shannon’s voice carried a trace of tiredness. "Fennie, you finally bothered to call me?"

It had been half a month...

She’d finally remembered him?

"Thomas Shannon, what have you been up to lately?" Sophie Sullivan forced down her fire, her voice steady, giving nothing away.

Thomas Shannon’s soft laugh came through. "I’ve been thinking about you lately. Have you felt it?"

"Quit the slick talk. I’m asking you—what exactly have you been doing?"

So much fire?

"Fennie, what’s wrong with you?"

"Thomas Shannon, what have you been doing behind my back? I’m giving you one chance to come clean and get lenient treatment."

Dammit!

He still wanted to play dumb? Did he really think that once she returned home, she’d know nothing about what was happening in Country A, that he’d have her completely in the dark?

Thomas Shannon’s smile disappeared, his expression turning solemn. "Fennie, have you found out something?"

"Need me to give you a hint?"
