The mahogany doors of the Sovereign Suite clicked shut, locking the noise of the Imperial Capital outside.

Soft golden light filled the spacious living room. Large floor-to-ceiling windows looked out over the city skyline, where emergency lights still flashed in the distance.

Amber tossed her light jacket onto the leather armchair and stretched her arms, letting out a long, contented breath. "Sector A is quiet. Iron-Thistle has the perimeter completely locked down with thirty-five fresh shields."

"And the High Council defense monitors are having a collective stroke," Evren said with a slight smile. He walked over to the dining table and unfastened his combat gloves, setting them aside. "Forty-eight minutes. Zero casualties."

Zephyra walked silently toward the center of the suite. She unbuckled her Shadow Whip-Blade from her wrist, placing the weapon carefully on the glass side table.

Her slender frame seemed lighter, yet her dark violet eyes remained fixed on Evren in quiet, nervous anticipation.

Amber noticed and smiled warmly. She walked into the kitchenette, pouring three glasses of warm herbal tea. She carried them over and handed one to Zephyra.

"Drink up, Z," Amber said gently, brushing a silver lock behind the girl’s ear. "You fought hard out there. Now it’s time for the real victory."

Zephyra took the glass with both hands. Her fingers were steady... her tendons and fine motor nerves had already healed back aboard the yacht after Mistral Crag, but the faint tremor in her breath gave her away.

"Chairman," Zephyra whispered. "The Heart-Stone... did it survive the frost cleave without cracking?"

"Not a single scratch," Evren replied.

He raised his right hand. With a subtle pulse of mental intent into his Spatial Storage Ring, two objects materialized onto the polished dining table.

The first was the Level 65 mutated boss core, glowing with dense purple void energy. The second was the prize they had crossed an abyss to claim: the Umbral Heart-Stone.

It was about the size of a fist and looked like a dark, faceted diamond. Deep purple mist swirled inside its clear sides like a tiny galaxy. Unlike typical void stones that leaked toxic decay, this mutated heart gave off a pure, concentrated energy of ancient shadow mana.

Zephyra stared at the stone, her pupils trembling. For four long months, the dark rot inside her chest had felt like a death sentence. Every time she tried to channel mana, the calcified rot had cut into her soul like broken glass.

Now, the cure sat less than two feet away.

Evren did not waste a moment. He raised his hand again and summoned the Ancient Alchemy Crucible from his ring.

The cauldron landed on the table with a dull thrum. Ancient bronze etchings wrapped around its curved belly, depicting celestial dragons and primordial flames.

Evren picked up the Umbral Heart-Stone and placed it gently into the bronze basin.

He lowered the heavy lid. As the lid sealed shut, the silver scripts across the crucible ignited on their own.

A bright golden-purple light shone from the edges. Inside the closed vessel, the ancient magical runes flared, stripping away the rough outer layer of dark energy and cleaned out all the impurities in a wave of purifying light.

For thirty seconds, the crucible gave off a soothing vibration.

Then, a soft, chime-like hum resonated through the living room, and the heavy lid automatically unlocked and slid open. An intoxicating aroma drifted into the suite... cool, crisp, and smelling faintly of night-blooming orchids and fresh mountain frost.

Inside the chamber lay three ounces of glowing, luminescent violet nectar that shimmered like crushed amethysts under starlight.

Evren carefully tilted the matte-black crucible, pouring the warm nectar into a clean crystal goblet. He turned around and walked over to the sofa, holding the goblet out to Zephyra.

"Stage Four," Evren said softly. "Drink it down, Z."

Zephyra set her tea aside. She looked at the glowing violet liquid, then looked up into Evren’s calm, steady eyes. There was no fear... only trust. "I belong to you, Chairman," she said softly. "In life, in shadow, and in blood."

She took the goblet, brought it to her lips, and drank the elixir in one smooth swallow.

The liquid was cool against her tongue, but the instant it slid past her throat, it blossomed into a wave of pure, soothing warmth.

Zephyra’s eyes widened.

She sank to her knees onto the plush carpet as the elixir reached her chest.

Deep inside her sternum, where the black calcified rot had choked her mana channels for months, the soothing warmth hit the obstruction like warm water against brittle ice.

Crack.

A sound that only Zephyra could hear echoed through her soul.

The hardened, toxic residue that had resisted every hospital treatment and every high-grade potion began to dissolve. The black crust broke apart, washed away by the tide of purified shadow nectar.

Her dormant mana core, cold and silent since the day she was broken in the underground pits, gave a sudden, violent thud.

THUMP.

It began to spin.

A radiant violet shockwave burst from Zephyra’s body, rustling the curtains and making the tea glasses clink on the table.

Amber stepped closer, her eyes bright with excitement. "Look at her mana channels!"

Beneath Zephyra’s porcelain skin, silver and violet light flared into existence, tracing intricate pathways down her neck, across her shoulders, and to her fingertips.

Smooth tendrils of dark violet shadow wrapped around her wrists, floating up like light streams of smoke.

There was no pain or burning. Her breathing slowed down, and her silver hair blew softly in a gentle, cool breeze.

Then, a golden chime sounded in Evren’s mind.

Evren felt a thrill wash through his mind. His own tactical teleport had evolved, doubling its range and granting complete phase immunity.

On the floor, the violet ribbons of shadow slowly settled back into Zephyra’s skin.

She opened her eyes.

Her dark violet irises were no longer clouded with the dull pain of rot. They shone like polished jewels, deep and mesmerizing.

Zephyra looked down at her hands.

She focused her mind, and twin daggers of solid shadow instantly formed above her hands. They hummed with sharp power before dissolving back into soft smoke with a single thought.

Complete control. Zero resistance. Zero pain.

A single tear rolled down her cheek, catching the golden light of the chandelier.

She did not wipe it away. She bowed her head until her forehead gently rested against Evren’s knee.

"I can feel the stars again," Zephyra whispered. "The cold... the poison... it’s all gone. You gave me back my soul."

Evren knelt down on one knee so he was at eye level with her. He reached out and gently wiped the tear from her cheek with his thumb. "You fought your way back, Z," he said quietly. "Nobody gave this to you. You earned it."

Amber dropped down beside them, wrapping her arms around Zephyra’s shoulders and pulling her into a tight, warm embrace.

"You did it, little sister," Amber laughed softly, resting her chin against Zephyra’s silver hair. "Look at you. An S-Rank Shadow Empress. The Capital doesn’t stand a chance against us now."

Zephyra buried her face against Amber’s shoulder for a brief moment, letting the warmth of their little family wash away the ghosts of her past.

When she pulled back, she looked between Evren and Amber. "Wherever our path leads," Zephyra said in a clear voice, "my blades will clear the road."

Evren smiled, feeling the deep bond between all three of them resonate stronger than ever.

Tomorrow morning, they had an appointment at the Imperial Sanatorium to see Calista.
