Pampering Discarded Heroines Triggers My 10,000x Rebate System
Chapter 139: Neurogenesis Initiated
Room 104 of the Imperial Sanatorium was completely silent.
Outside the mahogany door, Walter’s four Iron-Thistle sentries stood guard, securing the corridor against any outside intrusion.
Inside, the atmosphere was filled with anticipation.
Evren stood beside the hospital bed, and on the polished nightstand sat the matte-black Ancient Alchemy Crucible, its surface etched with ancient silver runes.
Next to it rested the velvet-lined harvesting case containing the fresh Astral Star-Jade Root, alongside the three auxiliary reagents: cold-distilled Moon-frost dew, crushed celestial lotus petals, and pure silver marrow.
Propped against her pillows, Calista looked at the reagents with wide, shimmering eyes.
"The formula from Page 42..." Calista whispered. "For seventy years, my family believed it was only a theoretical blueprint. Nobody possessed the flame control to harmonize astral wood and cold marrow without an explosion."
"You don’t need flame control when you have this," Evren replied with a calm smile as he opened the crucible’s lid to reveal the runic interior chamber.
He began to place the ingredients into the chamber. First went the crushed celestial lotus petals, followed by the cold-distilled Moon-frost dew and the vial of pure silver marrow. Faint silver sparks crackled across the chamber.
Finally, Evren laid the living Astral Star-Jade Root across the center. The moment the emerald root touched the silver marrow, a sharp hiss escaped the vessel.
Evren clicked the matte-black lid shut, locking the brass clamps.
Golden light flared from the Ancient Alchemy Crucible as complex geometric runes spun around its iron hull, humming softly. Inside, sovereign arrays bypassed manual heating altogether, using harmonic gravitational force to compress the ingredients and liquefy the star-jade bark in seconds.
Calista watched with held breath. "It’s completely silent. An ordinary furnace would roar like a blast engine."
"The crucible eliminates all thermal backlash," Zephyra murmured from the foot of the bed. "Pure extraction."
Thirty seconds passed in silence.
Suddenly, a sound echoed from the vessel.
Hiss...
A narrow vent valve on the crucible’s crest released a thin ribbon of azure star-mist. The vapor smelled like fresh mountain rain and crushed mint, instantly invigorating everyone in the room.
The golden runes on the hull dimmed to a gentle, steady glow.

[TARGET EFFECT: STAGE 1 SPINAL REGENERATION & CERVICAL DECALCIFICATION]
Evren unlatched the clamps and lifted the lid.
Inside the chamber sat five ounces of glowing, translucent azure liquid. It shimmered like liquid lapis lazuli, with specks of silver light swirling slowly within its depths.
Evren poured the warm liquid into a clean porcelain cup, feeling a soothing warmth radiate through the ceramic against his fingers.
"Hold on, Calista," Amber said softly, stepping forward.
With gentle care, Amber adjusted the pillows behind Calista’s back, easing her into a slightly elevated incline so she could swallow safely.
Evren sat down on the edge of the mattress and brought the cup to Calista’s lips. "Drink slowly," he said. "It’s warm, but it won’t burn."
Calista parted her pale lips.
As the first sip of the azure elixir crossed her tongue, her eyes widened. There was no bitter herb taste or harsh chemical sting. It tasted like sweet, cool spring water laced with warm honey.
Encouraged by the smooth warmth, Calista took several deep swallows, emptying the porcelain cup to the final drop.
For five seconds, nothing happened.
Then, a sudden wave of radiant azure light burst beneath the skin of Calista’s neck.
"Ah...!" Calista gasped, her breath catching in her throat.
"Stay relaxed," Evren said, resting a steady hand against her shoulder. "Let the medicine do its work."
Deep within Calista’s neck, dormant and broken for two years, a miracle unfolded. The pure star-jade essence surged directly into her cervical spine. Concentrated astral vitality bathed the severed vertebrae from C1 to C7, which had long been crushed into dead bone fragments.
Crack... crack...
Subtle, microscopic popping sounds echoed from the base of her skull.
Like living branches, the severed ends of the bone began reaching out toward one another, while the microscopic calcified deposits that had choked her neural canals for two years rapidly dissolved.
A faint wisp of dark grey steam seeped from the pores along the back of her neck, evaporating into the air. It was the residual necrotic toxin, completely purged by the sovereign elixir.
[DING!]
[NEUROGENESIS INITIATED!]
[C1–C7 CERVICAL VERTEBRAE RE-FUSING: 100% COMPLETE!]
[SPINAL CORD BRIDGING: RE-ESTABLISHED!]
[CALCIFICATION LEVEL: 92% → 70%!]
A powerful surge of warmth rushed downward through Calista’s shoulders and into her chest. Since she’d been rescued, her body below her chin had been an empty void of cold, lifeless stone.
Now, like a frozen river thawing under spring sunlight, sensation roared back into her nerves.
She felt the cool air against the skin of her collarbones. She felt the soft cotton fabric of her hospital gown resting on her chest. Most of all, she felt the gentle pressure of Evren’s fingers on her shoulder.
"I... I feel your hand..." Calista whispered, her voice choking as tears welled in her eyes. "Evren, I can feel your hand!"
"Try moving your head and shoulder," Evren encouraged her gently.
Calista swallowed hard. Focusing her willpower, she sent a command through the freshly bridged neural pathways.
Her neck muscles engaged smoothly. Without any assistive pillows or neck braces, Calista lifted her head upright, turning it smoothly from left to right. There was zero stiffness, zero pain, and zero weakness.
"The cervical collar... is healing?" Dr. Orson gasped from the doorway in disbelief.
He hurried inside, pulling a silver diagnostic scanner from his coat pocket. With trembling hands, he ran the optical sensor along the back of her neck. The device chimed in rapid, harmonic pulses as a vibrant green holographic scan stabilized in the air.
"The necrosis is gone..." Dr. Orson stammered, staring at the telemetry. "The spinal cord at C5 is fully bridged! The calcification dropped by more than twenty percent! This is biologically unprecedented!"
"That’s only the beginning," Zephyra said with a faint smile.
Calista looked down at her arms resting on the blanket.
Her fingers had been curled into rigid, unmoving claws for as long as she can remember, locked in atrophied paralysis. She took a slow, deep breath, concentrating every ounce of her focus into her right hand.
Twitch.
The index finger of her right hand twitched slightly against the white sheet.
Calista gasped, staring in shock.
Twitch... flex...
Her middle finger moved. Then her ring finger. Slowly, her right hand opened flat against the mattress, its slender fingers trembling with effort before curling inward into a soft, steady fist.
She raised her right forearm three inches off the bed!
"My hands..." Calista sobbed, hot tears spilling freely over her cheeks. "I can move my hands!"
Amber stepped beside the bed, her dark-brown eyes shining with heartfelt joy. She reached out and wrapped her warm hands around Calista’s trembling fingers.
Calista’s fingers curled tightly around Amber’s palms. For the first time in two years, Calista held another person’s hand with her own strength.
"You’re back, Calista," Amber said tenderly, using her thumb to brush away the tears on Calista’s cheeks. "You’re finally coming home."
Zephyra touched Calista’s other hand, offering a rare, gentle smile. "The Vance family thought they could bury you. They failed."
Calista turned her gaze toward Evren.
Looking at the young man who had spent millions without hesitation, retrieved her family’s stolen conservatory, and restored her broken spine in less than twelve hours, Calista’s chest swelled with an overwhelming tide of gratitude and devotion.
Every bit of despair, helplessness, and isolation that had haunted her for two years was swept away, replaced by loyalty to the man before her.
In that quiet room, a ding sounf chimed in Evren’s mind.
DING!

The golden interface expanded before Evren’s eyes with brilliant celebratory text:
[CONGRATULATIONS, HOST! 25% DEVOTION MILESTONE REACHED!]
[REWARD UNLOCKED: 1x S-RANK FORTUNE WHEEL SPIN!]
[SYSTEM QUEUE STATUS: 1x SPIN READY TO INITIALIZE!]
Evren looked down at Calista, whose face was flushed with life and tears of joy, her hands gripping Amber’s and Zephyra’s with living warmth.
"Rest now, Calista," Evren said softly, brushing a stray lock of hair from her forehead. "You’ve fought hard enough. We still have a lot to do to get you back on your feet."
Calista smiled through her tears, nodding gently as she closed her eyes.
