Pampering Discarded Heroines Triggers My 10,000x Rebate System
Chapter 142: Wherever You Go
Morning sunlight bathed the spires of District One.
A sleek black limousine stopped before the marble rotunda of the Meridian Tower. Rising eighty stories, it was the tallest tower in the imperial core.
Evren stepped out first, offering his hand to Amber.
She wore a tailored dark coat over a cream silk blouse, her dark hair catching the light. Her dark-brown eyes sparkled with excitement.
Waiting at the private entrance was an elderly gentleman in spotless robes with a golden court medallion.
"Chairman Evren, Lady Amber," the registrar bowed with deep deference. "I am Senior Conservator Gregory Cole. Welcome to Meridian Tower."
"Good morning, Conservator Cole," Evren nodded. "I understand you hold the exclusive deed for the entire Meridian Tower complex."
"Indeed, Chairman," Gregory smiled, leading them past the security cordon. "The entire eighty-story skyscraper, including the commercial concourses, corporate suites, lower security garrisons, and the crown Sky-Palace, has remained in court escrow for nearly three years. Many clans inquired, but none had the liquid capital to buy the whole landmark outright."
"Floors one through seventy-seven comprise over two million square feet of prime corporate headquarters, high-court banking facilities, and commercial floors," Gregory explained. "The lower levels feature a reinforced tactical garrison, private armory, and subterranean motor pool, specifically engineered for an elite house guard."
"That solves our security layout," Evren remarked to Amber. "Walter and his forty-nine hunters can take the lower garrison to secure the entire perimeter, ground concourses, and motor pool."
Evren and Amber stepped into the spacious lift.
With a soft hum of pneumatic dampeners, the elevator shot upward. Within twenty seconds, the chime rang, and crystal doors parted.
Amber let out a soft gasp.
They stepped into a breathtaking thirty-thousand-square-foot tri-level sky-palace bathed in sunlight. Floor-to-ceiling diamond-glass walls offered an unobstructed panoramic view of the Imperial Capital.
Below stretched the gleaming boulevards of District One, the palace grounds, and distant mountains.
"The sky-palace spans the top three floors," Gregory explained. "The lower level contains twenty private en-suite quarters, an armory, and a briefing hall, designed for an elite house guard."
"Perfect for Walter and his forty-nine hunters," Amber said with a warm smile. "No more crowded hotel rooms."
"The middle floor features the grand banquet hall and botanical atrium," Gregory continued. "And on the crown level, the master wing."
Gregory guided them to the upper level.
The master wing opened into six sprawling suites, each with a private terrace. At the center lay a steaming outdoor pool surrounded by crystalline ferns.
"A natural mana thermal spring," Gregory beamed. "The geothermal feed is piped directly from volcanic vents beneath the city. The water is saturated with regenerative mana, accelerating recovery and soothing stressed nerves."
"Calista will love this," Amber said softly, watching the steam rise. "It will do wonders for her physical therapy."
Evren nodded. "The security and privacy are exceptional."
"I shall wait on the landing to give you privacy to inspect the master suite," Gregory bowed, stepping back.
Evren and Amber walked into the primary master bedroom.
The spacious suite featured a king-sized canopy bed draped in ivory silk. Sliding glass doors led out to a sunlit balcony high above the city.
Amber walked out onto the balcony, placing both hands on the smooth glass railing. The mountain breeze stirred her dark hair, carrying the sweet scent of jasmine.
She turned around, leaning back against the balustrade with a playful, teasing smile.
"Six master bedrooms, a private thermal spring, and the whole empire at our feet," Amber tilted her head, her dark-brown eyes twinkling with warmth. "Tell me, Chairman... which bedroom are you planning to sleep in?"
Evren smiled, stepping forward until he stood directly in front of her. He rested his hands on the railing on either side of her waist, trapping her gently in his personal space. "Whichever one you’re in."
Amber’s breath caught.
A radiant blush bloomed across her cheeks, spreading down her neck. Her heart fluttered against her silk blouse under the sudden heat of his gaze.
Amber let out a soft, nervous laugh. The boldness of her tease faltered against his proximity.
Sensing the flutter of her pulse, Evren didn’t want to push her or seem overly forward. He smiled gently, lowering his hands and stepping back to give her space.
Amber turned back toward the skyline, gripping the railing as the breeze cooled her burning cheeks.
A quiet moment settled between them, charged with months of unspoken emotion.
Evren stepped up beside her, resting his forearms on the glass. "You know... I was just thinking," he said quietly.
Amber turned her head slightly. "About what?"
"About the day we met," Evren said, a faint smile touching his lips. "Suite eight-zero-eight at the Grand Apex Hotel."
A soft, nostalgic laugh escaped Amber’s lips. Her tension melted into warmth as she leaned her shoulder gently against his arm.
"You were completely soaked from the rain," she murmured, her dark-brown eyes softening. "Holding a dripping bag of seafood meant for Prescott and Giselle. I was burning with a mana fever, trapped in that wheelchair, and I had completely given up on living."
"And then I walked up to you," Evren chuckled softly, turning to meet her gaze. "A broke food courier with forty-two dollars to his name, asking: ’Miss Amber, do you want to leave this place with me?’"
"You looked so determined," Amber smiled, a faint blush warming her cheeks. "Everyone else in that room looked at me with pity or disgust. But you looked at me like a human being. When you took my hand and wheeled me out into the pouring rain, I didn’t know where we were going. I just knew I never wanted to let go of your hand."
"Back then, I just wanted to get you out of that room and help you stand on your own feet," Evren said softly. "But over these past months... through the rifts, running the foundries, reclaiming your father’s guild, and coming all the way to the Capital... I realized something."
Amber looked up at him, her eyes searching his face. "What did you realize?"
"I stopped thinking of you as just my Vice-Chairman a long time ago, Amber," Evren said steadily. "Every victory, every contract, every piece of this empire... none of it feels real until I turn around and see you standing beside me."
Amber’s breath caught in her throat.
The playful teasing was gone, replaced by a rare vulnerability.
She turned fully toward him, stepping closer. Her slender fingers rested gently over his chest, feeling the steady beat of his heart.
"Evren..." she whispered. "You gave me back my legs, my pride, and my family’s name. But that’s not why I follow you."
Evren looked into her eyes, waiting.
"I stay because you’re the first person who ever truly saw me even in my lowest point," Amber confessed softly, her fingers curling against his coat. "Not a broken heiress. Not an asset. Just Amber. For weeks, I told myself it was just loyalty... but it’s not. I don’t want to stand beside you just for business. Wherever you go, that’s where I want my home to be."
Evren’s chest warmed with deep affection.
He reached up, gently cupping the side of her face. His thumb brushed away a tear at the corner of her eye. "Then you never have to leave," Evren murmured.
Amber leaned into his palm, a soft sigh escaping her lips.
She slid her arms up around his neck, pulling herself flush against his chest. Evren wrapped his arms around her waist, drawing her close as their bodies fit together naturally.
Amber tilted her chin up, looking into his eyes.
Slowly, Evren leaned down, waiting for her to pull away but she didn’t. Instead she leaned forward until their lips pressed against one another.
